"Waited all this time for the dark history… and this is it?"
"This is… kind of disappointing…"
"Tch, I was hoping we'd get some leaked photos of Diantha or something…"
A chorus of LSP lamentations.
Honestly, if you go by what the Heavenly Tally described,
This barely counts as a dark history.
Sure, Diantha technically has the suspicion of bullying a rookie,
but she was just testing Ash—
She didn't really mean to fight him seriously!
As for the outcome?
Don't kid yourself!
A Champion-level Gardevoir vs a freshly debuted Greninja—
How could she possibly lose?!
It's like a dragon sitting on your face—what are you gonna do?
Even if Ash has that mysterious ability
that lets his Pokémon burst with power…
They still need a foundation to handle it.
Like Pikachu—
That little rat clearly has fought through a mountain of battles.
Granted… that Pikachu is extremely abnormal…
But Charizard was NOT abnormal.
Before proper training, even under Ash's command,
it couldn't beat a single Charizard in the Charicific Valley!
Not a single one!
This proves Ash's bond power isn't always effective.
The Pokémon has to be strong enough to withstand the boost!
Going from 1 strength to 3 strengths? They'll accept it.
Going from 0.1 strength to 3 strength? That's illegal, brother!
[Leon: Well, let's at least see if Ash's trainer skills have improved after years of traveling. Old Ash relied almost entirely on unpredictability. I wonder what today's Ash looks like…]
[Lance: Tch, this is all we get for a "dark history"? What a lame Tally.]
[Diantha: Oh? Champion Lance of the Flying Type—
sounds like you're disappointed the Tally didn't expose more of my dark history?]
[Lance: WHO are you calling a Flying-type Champion?!]
[Diantha: Whoever reacts is who I meant~]
Gunpowder fills the chat.
Though in person, the two of them seem fine enough.
Especially Diantha—she finally relaxed.
Seriously, does the Heavenly Tally underestimate her?
This is what they call her dark history?
Unless Ash's Greninja actually crushed her—
Otherwise, this isn't embarrassing at all.
And the probability of THAT happening
is lower than Pikachu beating Regice back then!
Greninja evolved only a few days ago—
What could it use to defeat her Champion Gardevoir?!
[Steven: Shame there's no betting. With this matchup, I could've gotten guaranteed points.]
[Wallace: Oh, please, Steven—stop thinking about those miserable points.
Even if there was betting, 99% of the world would pick Diantha.
If YOU bet Diantha too—
How much would you even win with your pathetic 300 points?
Three points?]
[Steven:…You're right.]
Wallace enlightened him.
Yeah! Even if the odds are 99% guaranteed… so what?
He only has 300 points.
How many centuries would it take to get enough to buy stones?
In that case…
Bet the opposite!
High odds, high risk, big payout!
BETTING KING STEVEN IS BORN!
Wallace just opened a whole new world for him.
A few minutes later, the subtitles vanished,
And the battle finally began playing!
Ash and Diantha faced each other across a wide plain.
Time had clearly passed—
Ash must've gone to let Greninja recover.
"Alright, Greninja—I choose you!"
"Ge-koga!"
Greninja landed on the field, performing a ninja hand sign.
"Dance for me, Gardevoir!"
"Garde~"
Gardevoir appeared, lifting her skirt slightly in a graceful bow.
If Greninja was a cool, deadly ninja—
Gardevoir was an elegant lady.
"Then we'll take the initiative!"
Ash swung his arm.
"Greninja, Cut!"
"Ge-koga!"
A white energy blade formed in Greninja's hand.
He burst forward with explosive power—
dust kicking up behind him.
But—
With only a glance from Diantha,
Gardevoir instantly understood.
A slight sidestep—
And Greninja's slash missed completely.
Ash frowned.
"Keep attacking! Water Shuriken!"
"Ge-koga!"
Greninja rolled back, slapped both thighs,
and four spinning water shuriken materialized!
He threw them rapidly—
blocking all of Gardevoir's escape routes.
The blades spun so fast the water became razor-sharp—
easily capable of slicing metal.
But even against such a deadly attack,
Gardevoir and Diantha remained calm.
Another subtle glance—
Gardevoir glided between the shuriken effortlessly.
"Damn… then—
Use Continuous Cut!"
"Ge-koga!"
White blades again formed in Greninja's hands.
He unleashed slash after slash, relentless.
But Gardevoir—
with minimal movement—
evaded every strike with ease.
"Night Slash!"
Greninja's eyes sharpened.
The white blade vanished, replaced by dark energy.
He lunged for Gardevoir's weak spot—
—but she disappeared with a single Teleport.
Their reaction speeds, physical ability—
just weren't on the same level.
"Ahhh, in this situation, even Ash can't do anything…"
"Right? Gardevoir's too OP!"
"That's not OP—that's pure level gap!
Looks like Ash is headed for a tragic loss this time…"
Almost the entire world believed
Ash had no chance of winning…
