Chapter 6 - Entry

Roy quickly worked past the little setback.

Immediately, he brought his body to a stop, he ran forward, going around, causing Sarah to have to turn to her left, her arms soon rising to defend a kick he had rushed in and delivered.

For the following seconds, Roy made use of only his legs, his right foot continuously hovering in the air and delivering swift kicks, their intensity forcing Sarah to retreat.

Roy's actions were a statement, a message to all that he was still in the game and an upcoming victor.

Constantly waving her hands in the air, Sarah defended Roy's kicks, using her palms to soften the blows as she retreated, unable to help but frown when he brought his right leg down and immediately began attacking with the left.

After stopping two kicks from his left, the female decided she had had enough and jumped back, creating space between them.

Roy pushed forward, not wanting to give her a breather, and rather than shy from the challenge, she met it head on.

The bigger opponent moved to raise his leg, wanting to return her to the previous oppression, but seemingly careless, she stepped into his space, her left palm slapping down his leg and her right hand looking to launch another strike.

Roy, who had been on the other end of the woman's fist, had been alert for it.

Knowing he had a little window, he immediately had both his hands shoot towards the approaching arm.

They clamped around the limb, stopping it in its tracks, and spreading his legs, Roy channeled his strength to his waist and spun, his actions taking the lighter opponent into the air.

The boy had a grin on his face, his brutal intentions for his captured opponent clear, but the female had no interest in being his plaything.

Within seconds, Roy was in full control, Sarah's arm clutched tight in his hands as he spun her through the air.

Roy's leg movement told of when he intended to plant her form, but before he could conclude his plan, there was a burst of power from the female.

Roy couldn't follow the girl's movements and despite his strength, she twisted her arm in his grip and, clamping onto his left arm with hers, pulled herself towards him, the bottom of her small foot clad in flat shoes headed for him.

With the little time he had, he brought his right arm over his face, his forearm absorbing the impact of the blow and his body being forced away.

Crossing several meters by air, when Roy's body touched the ground, he immediately moved to halt his momentum, but the attack he had just suffered was no ordinary hit.

Despite finally pulling on his own energy at the last second to fortify his arm, the rushed work hadn't been enough, and he still suffered almost the full brunt of Sarah's kick.

Roy was thankfully able to bring himself to a halt before he collided with the wall around the arena, but as he stood to his feet, not minding the sand falling off him, he cursed within as sharp pain wrung from his right shoulder.

"Seems you didn't fight Naoi unscathed."

Quickly, Roy looked up, a bit of surprise on his face, as he found Sarah already approaching, not too far from him.

He flattened his expression and began moving forward, a gentle wind erupting from around him, the chatter of his classmates becoming louder.

Not only had Sarah employed the use of her Idor, but so had Roy, and what made the scene more epic was that the two individuals had a semblance of mastery over the precious energy.

Unlike Naoi, who needed seconds to call and channel it, in the heat of battle, on demand, both individuals wielded the energy.

"This is going to be so epic."

"It takes close to a minute for me to summon my Idor, I still have a long way to go."

"Ha, yours is a minute, I need to sit still and meditate before I can feel mine, it's so frustrating."

Up in the stands, the students conversed amongst themselves as they watched the top powers in their class.

Whether the words they spoke were the truth or not was unknown.

Listening to the chatter, Nathan entwined his fingers in contemplation, looking at the two opponents, seeking a conclusion.

Nathan knew Roy was strong, but the sight of the boy summoning his Idor right in the heat of battle completely shattered the image he had of his strength.

Having Idor was just one part of the equation; being able to instantly wield it transformed the equation.

Nathan, for some seconds, considered the possibility of Roy claiming victory, but in the end, he squashed the thought.

Roy might have improved at a shocking pace, but Sarah was no slouch either; it would take more than normal training for him to close the gap that had already formed between them.

No matter the advancements, he was sure the zealous female had at least made similar strides on her own end.

"Still, his potential is not something to be missed on."

His eyes narrowing, Nathan schemed, but as the pair in the arena moved to resume their fight, Idor flowing through their forms, a light shudder went through him and on instinct, he turned around.

Looking past his classmates who were all focused on the battle in the arena, seated several rows behind, Nathan caught sight of a presence that had previously not been present, the name which the class had unanimously given him immediately coming to mind.

'Anomaly'
