Ian put away the Platinum Chest, then controlled his clay giants to step back from the unconscious Minozebra.
One jailer beast down meant one five-star system chest earned.
But judging from his earlier experience with the Blue Gorillas…
Minozebra should still yield at least one more four-star Golden Chest.
He just needed to beat it up again.
Ian reaffirmed to himself—
this was absolutely not personal revenge.
This was purely for the pursuit of higher-tier Treasure Chests.
Before long, Minozebra groggily awoke.
The greatest strength of Zoan Devil Fruits: toughness and recovery.
The jailer beasts were failed Zoan awakenings.
They'd lost their human intelligence, yes—
but they'd gained monstrous endurance.
Sit-ups?
Light work.
Minozebra shook its foggy head.
It looked around.
No trace of those unkillable white giants.
Only the same human it had casually swatted away earlier.
A mere human.
Minozebra snorted, confidence restored.
It snatched up its spiked iron ball, scraped a hoof across the hot ground, and charged at Ian again.
Ian—after a solid half-hour of rest—was at full strength.
With the previous battle as reference, he no longer wasted Armament Haki recklessly.
He primarily relied on Rokushiki, only invoking Haki when necessary.
And in this relentless, tireless jailer beast…
Ian found the perfect training partner—
for both his Armament Haki and his Observation Haki.
The clash echoed endlessly across Blazing Hell.
Meanwhile, inside the warden's office of the fourth level—
Magellan sat on the toilet, his purple-red face twisted in an expression of mixed agony and relief.
Just as a fresh wave of abdominal pain promised a satisfying detox release—
BOOM!
Magellan's entire body clenched.
His moment of catharsis evaporated instantly.
Who was it?
Who—
with zero public decency—
was making such a racket in broad daylight?!
Couldn't they sit quietly in prison like normal people?!
Couldn't they let a man detox in peace?!
Fury simmered deep in his gut—
(not the same place as the toxins)—
as Magellan yanked up his pants and charged out of the washroom.
"WHO IS MAKING THAT NOISE?!"
Storming into the monitoring room of Blazing Hell, Magellan prepared to personally identify and punish whoever dared disrupt his bathroom time.
"If it's a prisoner," he muttered, "I swear I'll shove him straight into the Poison Giant's backside!"
But the guards in the monitoring room hadn't noticed him enter.
They were all glued to the live feed, shouting excitedly.
"Too strong! The Chief Warden is too strong!"
"Vice Warden, jailer beasts—none of them can beat him!"
"Look! The giant army! The invincible giant army is back!!"
Chief Warden?
Jailer beasts?
Magellan's eye twitched.
He now had a pretty good idea who the culprit was.
But…
what giant army?
He looked at the live feed.
Just in time to see a tired Ian summoning a fresh squad of clay giants—
who then proceeded to brutally gang-beat a recovering Minozebra.
That was Ian?!
Magellan rubbed his eyes.
In his hands, Minozebra always felt like a sturdy, violent monster.
Why did it now look like…
a stuffed zebra toy?
Ian knew nothing of the chaos in the monitoring room.
He only knew that Minozebra had just delivered another Golden Chest.
"Repeatedly defeating the same target in a short time will reduce chest quality."
Sitting cross-legged to recover stamina, Ian waited for Minozebra's next revival.
"So there's a cooldown of sorts…
Also—how low will the chest quality drop?"
The answer arrived soon enough.
[Silver Chest: Minozebra]
[Rating: ★★★]
"That's enough. No need to keep beating this one."
Ian stored the Silver Chest and prepared to seek his next victim—
correction:
his next jailer beast training partner.
"One jailer beast gives one five-star chest… and one four-star chest.
Minozebra, Minocow, Minokoala, Minorhinoceros…
That's four Platinum candidates!"
He absolutely could not let that slip through his fingers.
But before seeking the next target, Ian tossed the newly earned Silver Chest into Swordsmanship.
[Swordsmanship: ★★★]
"Now the only one-star skill left is Gunmanship. Looks ugly."
He made a mental note to bring both Swordsmanship and Gunmanship up to four stars later.
It wouldn't cost much.
"But the real focus… is on Golden and Platinum Chests."
Ian's gaze settled on Clay-Clay Fruit.
After continuous upgrades earlier, it sat at ★★★★☆.
He immediately fed it the Golden Chest.
His Clay-Clay Fruit became his first five-star ability.
Then—
He fed it the one and only Platinum Chest.
[Clay-Clay Fruit: ★★★★★☆]
