Chapter 22 - Liyue’s Harvest!

After returning from the Sword Demon God Qingxu's domain, Zayn had already learned everything he could.

With nothing pressing left to do, he slipped right back into his leisurely, lazy lifestyle.

During this period, he often dragged Morax to play Go.

As always, it didn't take long for Morax to completely decipher Zayn's patterns.

The outcome was inevitable—

Zayn lost again and again.

Hmph. Zayn absolutely refused to accept defeat.

"Come on! Be my opponent once more! This time I'll definitely win!"

Even if a god stands before me, I will take half a stone from him!

"Morax! Take this!"

Zayn dramatically placed a white stone on the board—

and instantly a bolt of lightning erupted from it, blasting every black stone on the board to dust like some kind of chain-reaction puzzle game.

Morax sighed and rubbed his forehead helplessly.

That all-too-familiar scene…

"I won this round!" Zayn declared triumphantly.

Morax: "..."

If he refuted it, Zayn would definitely respond with:

"Oh? Do you understand Go or do I understand Go?"

During Zayn's day-after-day salted-fish lifestyle, Morax became so bothered that he often fled Liyue entirely, traveling to Jueyun Karst to visit the adepti.

Zayn was speechless.

He only played a little chess, Gomoku, Chinese military chess, Monopoly, cards, mahjong… and all kinds of games!

He raised both hands innocently.

He was a god now—he had far too many years ahead of him.

If he didn't find entertainment, he'd die of boredom.

And if he kept holding it in, one day he might become an old fossil like Zhongli.

Time passed.

The wheat in the fields turned golden.

The leaves of the potato and sweet potato plants grew lush and vibrant.

All thanks to the Liyue people's dedicated care.

A sturdy man named Li stood in his field, holding the small booklet that the Feather God (Zayn) had given them.

He compared the illustrations to the actual state of his crop.

It looked like his potatoes were ready for harvest, but since this was their first time planting such things, he wasn't entirely sure.

He lowered the booklet carefully—

this "Planting" guide was a divine item bestowed by the Feather God, and he had been extra cautious in preserving it, terrified it might get damaged.

"Should… should be ready for harvest?" he muttered.

Well, if he wanted to be sure, he only needed to dig one up.

He stepped into the field, struck the soil with his hoe, and pulled up a potato vine.

Shaking the dirt off—

Five large, plump potatoes dangled below.

His face instantly blossomed into a grin.

They had secretly tasted potatoes and sweet potatoes before planting—

not because they doubted the Feather God,

but simply out of curiosity.

"Hahaha! One, two, three, four, five! A whole five!"

"This plant has even more—seven!?"

Li grinned from ear to ear as he looked at his harvest.

Joy spreads like wildfire.

Soon, all of Liyue was filled with excitement.

Zayn lay lazily in the pavilion.

From here, the entire Liyue settlement was visible.

He watched the bustling figures in the fields—

faces full of smiles as they harvested.

Judging by the timing, it was about the season for the crops to mature.

Autumn harvest had arrived.

"Morax! Morax!"

"The seeds planted in spring have matured. Let's go take a look!"

Zayn entered Morax's chamber, finding him reading a stone tablet.

"The spring crops have matured already?"

Morax nodded. "Mm. Let us go."

He too wanted to see whether the seeds Zayn provided could support Liyue for a whole year.

The two exited Liyu Palace.

The streets were empty—

everyone had run off to the fields.

Aside from harvesting, they were even more curious about the yield.

After all, the Feather God once promised:

These crops would be enough to feed all of Liyue for a full year.

"Rex Lapis! Feather God!"

The moment they approached the fields, the two gods were instantly recognized.

The people hurried over excitedly.

Zayn quickly raised a hand.

"No need to gather around. Morax and I merely came to check the harvest. Continue your work."

The people smiled brightly upon hearing this.

"Rex Lapis, Feather God—

Thanks to your blessings, these plants yielded extremely well! If we store them properly, they'll last us for a very long time."

"That's right! Feather God, if we ration them properly, we can eat for two years, no problem!"

"All thanks to the divine seeds granted by Feather God!"

Praise from all directions filled their ears.

Zayn felt quite satisfied.

After all—

Who doesn't enjoy praise?

"Very good. Then continue your harvest. Do not miss the best time," Zayn said.

"Yes! We follow the Feather God's command!"

The crowd dispersed and returned to work.

Zayn and Morax strolled across the fields, checking each area.

Yields were consistent everywhere.

Based on calculations, the harvest really could feed Liyue for over a year.

The granaries might not even be large enough.

But potatoes and sweet potatoes could be stored in cellars long-term, or dried into preserved slices.

After finishing their walk, Zayn turned to Morax with a proud look—

as though waiting for praise.

After all, he had modified the seeds personally, enabling them to thrive even in poor soil and with minimal care.

Of course he deserved credit.
