Yeonjun was preparing to go back to japan after being in LA for too long, He had just graduated from from Harvard university and had a flight the next morning to japan with his friends soobin and Andrew. Only it was the first time for Andrew.
'Hey Andrew , how long does it take to fly from LA to japan?"
Andrew reading a book answered "I have no idea
"WHen will we arrive exactly?"asked yeonjun.
Soobin already packing. His clothes added "the flight probably starts at 6:50am,we might arrive in Japan at 5:53 maybe it's just a prediction."
"Really?" asked yeonjun.
Soobin nodded. "It's just a guess okay?"
"If you say so" said yeonjun
That night yeonjun couldn't fall asleep that night the next morning, he looked tired but still managed to have a grin on his face andrew noticed and asked
" did you even sleep?"
Yeonjun yawned and smiled "No, it's time for the flight WAKE UPPPP" he screamed.
"We already are, stop screaming!!!" Said soobin.
"Sometimes I wonder if he's even human" Andrew muttered sleepily
Looking tired and annoyed he got ready while only soobin and yeonjun seemed ready, when they reached the airport soobin asked the staff showing his passport when their flight starts. "your flight will be in an hour" said the staff.
"It's 5:30 our flights starts at 6:30" said soobin
Yeonjun asked him what time it was now. "It's 5:30, so we've got one hour," Soobin replied.
"Then why are you rushing us?" Andrew said, staring at their tickets.
"What's wrong with you?" said Andrew, half asleep.
A few hours passed. Yeonjun was constantly looking at his watch, and the ticket said 6:00 p.m. The time for the flight had finally arrived.
When they got on, Yeonjun couldn't take his eyes off the window. Like a madman, he watched as the plane took off. Andrew and Soobin looked at him weirdly.
When they finally arrived in Japan, Yeonjun felt a strange uneasiness, as if something was pulling at his heart. He shook off the feeling and ran straight to his best friend, Beomgyu, who was standing outside the airport with a board that said "Welcome Yeonjun."
Not far behind, yeonjun's parents stood eagerly by the car,their faces lighting up the moment they saw their son. His mother ran straight to her son and hugged him tight,she whispered "your finally home" while his father stood beside them with proud smirk
For a moment everything felt perfect and warm,until yeonjun noticed his parents smile fading away and their eyes fading away to something behind him.
"Yeonjun..." his father asked softly his tone trembling
"Who came with you?" He asked
Yeonjun froze. Everyone around him was smiling except beomgyu, who stood completely still, his eyes fixed on the empty space beside yeonjun.
The wind grew colder,the light above flicker once then twice.
And just like that. Japan no longer felt home.
