Chapter 7 – Baek Yuna POV

(Seo Minjae in Her Body)

Second day as Baek Yuna.

Second day sitting in the CEO's office.

Second day in a row feeling like my life was seconds away from collapsing.

I pressed Yuna's small hands against my face and let out a slow breath, trying to calm the storm inside me. Across the desk, Park Jaehun's gaze rested on me—heavy, sharp, unsettling. He didn't need to say anything. His silence alone was enough to make my skin crawl.

Was he going to fire me this time?

Or upgrade my position from slave to slave pro max?

Honestly, I was screwed either way.

And yet, what scared me more than losing this job—or even never getting my body back—was the tiny orange demon waiting for me at home. If I failed again, Dori wouldn't hesitate. He'd kill me. Emotionally. Slowly.

I sighed again.

Jaehun finally spoke, his tone casual, almost bored.

"Next time, try not to fight inside my company, Yuna. What you did was highly unprofessional." His lips curved slightly. "And how dare you talk like that to Hana? She's the best employee here."

Best employee… or best in your bed?

I swallowed the thought and lifted my gaze to meet his.

"She started it," I said calmly. "I came early to work. She bullied me."

He smirked. "Bullied is a big word, Yuna."

My chest tightened, but I refused to back down.

"It's the right word," I said, my voice firmer now. "And I won't stay quiet about it."

The moment the words left my mouth, I knew it.

That was it.

My last chance at not getting fired—gone.

Instead of exploding, Jaehun laughed.

"You really changed in just a few days," he said lazily. "You used to be so quiet. So still. You never reacted to anything." His eyes gleamed. "I even called you tree because of it."

Tree?

I clenched my jaw. Maybe Yuna really had been like that—silent, unmoving, enduring everything. But hearing it out loud still burned.

A tree has roots, I thought. And roots break concrete.

I straightened and smiled coldly.

"I always had a personality," I said. "I just chose carefully who deserved to see it. Some people aren't worth my energy." My smile widened slightly. "Obviously."

For a split second, something flickered in his eyes.

Then he laughed again.

"Interesting," he said. "Look at you, tree-slave."

Tree-slave.

Wow. I was really getting promoted in slavery.

He leaned back against his desk and continued, "Try to control that temper and your new personality. I won't tolerate it again." He paused, then added casually, "And be at this address at 8 p.m. tonight."

My heart stopped.

The address on the card he slid toward me—

His house.

I looked up slowly. "Your house?"

He nodded, smirking.

My voice trembled despite my efforts. "Why your house? It's not working hours. I won't come."

I stood up, ready to leave.

He laughed softly behind me.

"Tree-slave," he said, amused. "You still need your job, right?"

My body reacted before my brain could stop it.

I nodded.

Idiot.

"Good," he said. "Then be there at 8 p.m. End of conversation."

I walked out of the office feeling numb.

An innocent, naïve, fragile Baek Yuna… walking straight into a predator's house at night.

A nightmare.

I swallowed hard.

How the hell was I supposed to protect myself from a man like him—in this body?
