Chapter 9 - Game on

"This can't be…" Nathan muttered under his breath as the couple led him into the house, chatting lovingly along the way.

Doctor Park was telling his wife about his day—about the patients and their demanding family members—while Hannah listened with a gentle smile, responding now and then.

Their home had always been like this: warm, peaceful, and full of quiet happiness.

Yes, Doctor Park was rarely home, but that was only because his work demanded it. As a senior doctor, he was constantly moving from one hospital to another, giving lectures, mentoring interns, or assisting with complex cases.

Because of his busy schedule, Nathan had rarely seen any fights between them.

But… to think Logan was cheating on his wife?

"No… I can't believe that," Nathan thought, shaking his head in disbelief. His small movement caught Hannah's eye.

"What's wrong, dear? Is something bothering you?" she asked softly.

Doctor Park leaned close and whispered something to her. Hannah's eyes widened.

A moment later, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Nathan. "I'm so sorry to hear about your brother."

Her chest pressed softly against him through the thin fabric of her blouse, spilling up a little and exposing the mole on her left teat. Nathan could feel her warmth, but he stayed still and gave her back a light pat.

"Thank you," he said quietly. "You two have always been there for me when things were hard."

The two soon parted, and Nathan noticed the faint shimmer in Hannah's eyes as she gently cupped his cheek.

"If you ever need to talk to someone, I'm always here, okay?" she said softly.

Doctor Park added with a warm smile, "Yes, Nathan. This is your home too. Whenever you feel like it, come and stay with us."

Nathan felt his heart grow heavy at their kindness. Truly, they were some of the kindest people he had ever met.

But then—

[Yes, host. To ensure your brother survives, you must seduce the target named Hannah Park, who is being cheated on by her husband and is deprived of a man's touch.]

Nathan's jaw tightened, but his expression didn't change.

"I've prepared dinner," Hannah said cheerfully after a brief pause. "Come, let's eat together."

Logan nodded, but soon wrinkled his nose. "What's that awful smell? Like something's burnt?"

Hannah's cheeks flushed. "It must be the neighbors. I'll turn on the exhaust fan. Go wash up first."

Logan nodded again, then glanced at Nathan. "Go sit at the table while I change."

Nathan quietly obeyed, though his mind still felt foggy.

As he sat down, his gaze drifted toward the bouquet of flowers Logan had brought for his wife.

He watched Hannah place them gently into a vase, her face glowing with a tender smile.

That sight only deepened his doubt.

'How can you say Doctor Park is cheating on her? That doesn't make any sense,' he thought, waiting for a response.

But before the voice could speak again, hurried footsteps echoed from the hallway.

"Honey, an emergency came up—I have to go," Logan said, buttoning his shirt as he headed for the door.

Hannah blinked, startled. "I understand. I'll wait for—"

"No," Logan interrupted, his tone firm. "I might not be coming home tonight. The patient is in critical condition."

Hannah's shoulders dropped slightly, though a gentle smile stayed on her lips. "I understand. Take care, then."

Logan gave a small nod to Nathan before hurrying out the door.

Just then, a cold chime echoed in Nathan's mind.

[If the host doubts the system's analysis, he may confirm it himself. Please follow Doctor Park downstairs and see the truth.]

Nathan's heart sank at the words. He didn't want to believe it—but he also couldn't ignore the system, not after what it had promised him. And if he was to carry out his mission, he had to know for sure.

"Ah, I just remembered—I needed to tell Doctor Park something about the discharge report. He must be near the elevator. I'll be right back," Nathan said, forcing a calm tone.

"Alright. But don't go running off too fast!" Hannah called out with a laugh as she saw him rush to the door.

As soon as Nathan stepped outside, he spotted Logan entering the elevator in a hurry.

He didn't call out. Instead, he took the stairs.

It was just seven floors, but Nathan's stamina wasn't what it used to be. By the time he reached the basement, his breath was ragged, his pulse racing.

Thankfully, a few people had stopped the elevator on their way down, giving him enough time to catch up. As the doors slid open, he saw Logan step out.

Nathan quickly hid behind a pillar, watching the older man stride toward his car.

'If he drives off somewhere, I'll have no way to follow him,' Nathan thought anxiously.

But instead of unlocking his car, Logan suddenly turned and began talking to someone.

Nathan frowned and moved silently along the edge of the parking lot, trying to get a better view.

And then he saw her—a young woman, probably in her twenties, standing opposite Logan with her arms folded, her expression tense.

They were arguing. Logan reached out as if to calm her, but she shook her head sharply, taking a step back.

Nathan's chest tightened. 'She… could be a patient's relative, right?' he told himself, still trying to give the man he respected the benefit of the doubt.

But then...something happened that made his mind blank.

Logan suddenly grabbed her waist and pulled her for a bruising kiss.

Their lips met in a fiery embrace and despite the protest she showed by lightly pushing him away, it didn't seem she really meant it.

Logan's hand crept down her waist and into her short skirt, fondly her ass.

She didn't resist, rather crossed her arms around his neck and drew closer.

His right hand rubbed her earlobe as their kiss deepened.

Nathan stared at the scene with disbelief...but then, something came to his mind and he took out his phone to record the intimate scene before him

'This world is so fucked up.'
