Chapter 22 - Hindrance

I slapped Arthur's hand out of my face before standing up. How? I wandered through the field, with my hand holding my head still by the chin. At first I thought maybe they learned my play style or studied it before the game. Due to them only focusing on me when I get the ball. But no, right now I'm not the main character of the field. They don't care about me. They're just predicting me and me alone. It's as if I'm facing myself when I face Arthur." My vision flickered as my eyes squinted. "I can't win alone. I can't win with my usual habits."

A younger version of me wrapped his arms around my neck and looked at me from above as he stood behind me. "You're better off alone." But the gentle hands of a guardian angel emerged from the darkness and pulled him off of me. A boy who continues to wander through the darkness forgets how to see in the light. He looked up hoping for redemption but he didn't get it. As the pale hands of a guardian angel rubbed his face and held it up. "The light is too bright." He tried to close his eyes to stop the pain but the angel held his eyelids open, and she spoke. "You're not alone and you don't need to be."

He needs the courage to look at the light at its source. The angel's soft smile and gentle words. The boy who wandered the darkness stopped to gather his thoughts. I looked up with everything in my heart. "Thank you, Ray. For always being by my side." The boy who sits down in the darkness of solitude cries in silence. Not even looking for someone to recognize his discomfort because he knows it won't happen. His wails continue to be left unanswered. He wipes his tears to avoid appearing weak but an angelic beauty grabs his hand to stop him from wiping those precious tears. She pulls him so that he can walk forward. As the boy stumbled trying to catch up to the girl he cries for her to slow down but she continues. As he continues to cry and wail this pure beauty speaks. "Cry, cry all you want. It's not a bad thing to ask for help, you know? Please cry and tell me the reason. Pour your heart out. Go off on me. You're a human who deserves love and nothing you do will stop me from believing that."

The boy's tears transform from ones of despair to ones of joy as he smiles and his eyes widen to see the bright path ahead of him. He laughs as he runs to catch up to her. He runs as fast as he can with pure joy written all over his face. He jumps and dances to the beauty of his guardian angel's voice. He feels the warmth of her love on his pale skin. The boy suddenly stops and looks back at his older self. He waves and smiles at me. I hesitated, I couldn't, I can't. I don't deserve i…The hands of his guardian angel pushed me forward and whispered into my ear. "I'll always be by your side so go, go and don't look back next time.

Suddenly my mind burst into flames. My throat burned with such intensity it caused me to choke myself. I squeezed and squeezed but I couldn't feel pain. I was thrilled at the possible future. A devilish grin ripped through my face as my mind fluttered with different plays and possible futures. The word echoed through my mind. "More!" "I'm better off alone."

Those words replay like an old film that's malfunctioning but the flames in my mind burn it. It burns it to ashes. I'm such a fool! Why would I think that? Just because I'm not alone doesn't mean I'm going against my instincts. I am my instincts and my mind! I must become one with myself in order to thrive in this disgusting world! Those words burn to ashes but before they could become a distant memory in the back of my mind. I grabbed it and crushed it under the pressure of my passion. I WON'T LOSE, NOT HERE, NOT AGAIN!

Jaylon rushes in front of Arthur. And Arthur tries desperately to get past Jaylon but the King is trying his best to make sure he doesn't get what he wants. Jaylon smiles "You can't get past me can you? How pathetic." Arthur grows annoyed and looks at this irrelevant thing and says "You're so fucking annoying." In an instant Arthur shoots a curved shot right around Jaylon. As the king stares at what once was an equal player turn into a dominating monster. He falls to his knees. As Arthur scores he doesn't even look at the pathetic display behind him and walks away. "It's over." Jaylon thought to himself.

That thought echoed through his mind. His eyes darkened and his body relieved itself as he thought to himself. "I'm dead." Jaylon fell into the darkness and looked up to his destroyed kingdom. A king who lost everything he desired fell into the black abyss. But he is suddenly grabbed by the wrist and pulled from it as The Reaper stares him in the eyes. "Get the hell up "King" I decide when you die." Jaylon looks at him with confusion. Why would I help him of all people?

The Reaper swung his hand towards the bench and pointed at Michael. "Entertain me, Stage Director." Michael smirked and jumped up from the bench. "YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THAT BUNNY BOY!" I smiled back. "You better be up to par, goth!
