Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Shattered Peace.

She quickly called for the driver to take her to the hospital, her hands shaking as she tried to process the news. As she rushed to the hospital, Lily's mind was filled with thoughts of her father, of what might have happened. She couldn't bear the thought of anything happening to him.

The drive seemed to take an eternity, each passing minute stretching out like an hour. When they finally arrived at the hospital, Lily rushed out of the car and sprinted towards the emergency room.

Her heart racing, she ran down the corridors, following the signs to her father's room. When she finally reached him, her world came crashing down. Her father was lying on the bed, badly injured, his face pale and drawn.

Lily's eyes welled up with tears as she gazed at her father, her heart breaking at the sight of him. She sat down beside him, her hand clasped tightly around his. The beeping of the machines and the faint smell of antiseptic filled the air, a stark contrast to the warmth and love that had filled her heart just hours before.

As she looked at her father's pale face, Lily felt a surge of tears. She whispered his name, her voice barely audible, hoping against hope that he would respond, that he would be okay. But as she gazed into his still form, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she might lose him, that this might be the last time she saw him smile, the last time she held his hand.

"Dad," She whispered, her voice trembling. "Please don't leave me." As she spoke, her father's eyes flickered open, and he gazed up at her with a faint smile. Lily's heart skipped a beat as she felt a jolt of shock and joy.

"Dad!" She exclaimed, her tears falling harder now. "You're awake!" Her father's smile faltered, and he looked at her with a confused expression. "Lily?" He whispered, his voice week. "What.... What happened?" Lily's heart sank as she realized that her father didn't remember the accident.

She felt a wave of fear wash over her, but she pushed it aside, focusing on the fact that her father was alive. Lily's eyes welled up with tears as she squeezed her father's hand. "You were in an accident, Dad," she explained trying to keep her voice steady. "You've been hurt pretty badly." Her father's expression changed from confusion to alarm, and he tried to sit up.

But a sharp pain made him wince and he fell back onto the pillow. Lily's heart ached as she watched her father struggle. She felt helpless, not knowing how to ease his pain.

Just then, a nurse rushed into the room. "Mr. Henry please don't try to move," she said, gently pressing him back onto the bed. "You need to rest." As the nurse tended to her father, Lily felt a sense of relief was over her. At least he was getting the care he needed.

But as she looked into her father's eyes, she saw a flicker of something there something that made her heart skip a beat. Lily's eyes locked onto her father's, and she saw a glimmer of fear and uncertainty there.

But then, something else sparked in his eyes_ a hint of warning. "Dad?" Lily whispered, her heart racing, "What's wrong?" Her father's gaze darted around the room, as if he was checking to make sure no one was listening. Then, he leaned in close to Lily, his voice barely audible. "Lily, I....I don't think it was an accident," he whispered. Lily's eyes widened in shock as her father's word hung in the air.

What did he mean? Who would want to hurt him? Suddenly, the beeping of the machines surrounding her father's bed seemed to grow louder, and the room felt like it was closing in around her.

Just as Lily was trying to process her father's shocking words, The doctor called her name from the doorway. "Lily, can I have a word with you?" Dr. Lee asked, his expressions serious. Lily hesitated, not wanting to leave her father's side.

But something in the doctor's tone made her feel like she needed to hear what he had to say. She nodded, gently squeezing her father's hand before standing up and following the doctor out of the room.

As they walked into the hallway, the doctor turned to her with a somber expression. "Lily, I need to tell you something about your father's condition."Lily's heart skipped a beat as she braced herself for bad news.
