Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Chaptre 10 : part 1 : Lana Kensington POV

Sometimes, you can't trust anyone to do the job properly.

Not even Sharon.

Ever since that message appeared on Sharon's wall — tick tack REVENGE time is coming up — she's been acting like a scared little princess. She talks a big game, but I see it in her eyes: doubt. Fear. Weakness , so i need to take down scarlett , sharon is weak riht now .

That's why I didn't tell her about my little project. Some things, an intelligent queen like me has to handle on her own.

And this? This was personal. too personal ...

Scarlett was back. And if Scarlett was back, that meant Julia was somewhere in the shadows too. The only friend that ugly big panda ever had. Always trailing behind her, pretending to be innocentthe perfect girl while watching us with those judgmental little eyes.

I hadn't seen Julia Farland in years. But I had a feeling that Scarlett wouldn't come back without her little backup dog.

So I went to the one person who might know.

My father.

Harold Kensington. Business tycoon. Power freak. Reputation-obsessed bastard. so basically he is a friend of henry farland julia father .

But something unexpected happened. He didn't yell this time. but When I brought up Julia, his face tightened. Something protective flickered in his eyes. He paced the room, then looked at me like I was poison.

"Forget about her," he snapped. "She's not your problem why did you even remember her ."

I blinked, caught off guard. "Why are you protecting her? , and from me Since when do you care? , you think im a monster ?"

He ran a hand through his thinning hair. "Because I know you, Lana. And I know what you're capable of. Leave that girl alone."

It hit me then. He wasn't protecting me. He was protecting her.

julia .

He didn't even say no lana your not a monster but he was just protecting julia over his daughter seriously ?

Dad always liked julia he even compared her to me back at school , look she is as rich as you but her she is intelligent she work to become independant and successful by her own not her daddy money , at that time she was also sharon bestie ... at least i succeed to remove her from sharon life and made her my bestie mine only !

But Fine. If Daddy dearest wanted to play the hero, let him. I didn't need his approval.

Plan B, then.

Elly. His New secretary. Money always talks, and Elly never could say no to cash.

Five thousand dollars. Just for a stupid address. And she gave it up like candy, so stupid when dad will know he will dismiss her from work ...

so That's how I ended up here.

Standing across the street from that pathetic little townhouse on the edge of the city, half the paint peeling off the door, windows cracked at the edges. I watched it for days, like a hunter waiting for her prey.

And then I saw her.

Shorter brown hair now. Still that same pathetic face. Trying to look important in some brand coat. But it was her.

Julia Farland.

Or so I thought.

I followed. Quiet. Careful. Around corners, past a cheap bakery, through alleys where no one cared who lived or died.

Finally, I called out, loud and sweet:

"Julia."

She froze, exactly like I knew she would.funny ...

But when she turned to face me, her voice was steady, sharp. "I'm sorry—you must be mistaken. My name is Anna."

I tilted my head. What the hell was this? New name, new haircut? Playing games now?

I stepped forward slowly, savoring it. "Do you really think I'm that stupid? You're Julia Farland. I just watched you leave your father's house."

She backed up a step, eyes darting around like she thought someone might save her. There was no one. Just me. Just us.

"Where's Scarlett?" I whispered.

Silence.

Wrong answer.

SLAP.

"Where. Is. She?!"

Silence again .

Another slap. Harder this time. She stumbled but stayed standing.

She looked broken. Weak. Just like old times.

But this wasn't like old times.

Her lip trembled. She was afraid—I could see that clear as day—but something else flickered behind her eyes. Something sharp. Something dangerous.

That's when I noticed the blinking red light by the car tire.

No. Fucking. Way.

I spun around fully, seeing it now. The camera. Recording.

I turned back to her, fury burning behind my eyes.

And she was smiling.

Not because she was strong. No, she was broken. Betrayed. And I could tell she wasn't expecting this from Scarlett either.

But in that moment, even afraid, even trembling, she smiled anyway.

"Smile for the press, sweetheart," she whispered. "The world loves a good scandal , and good for you , you look good on camera ..."

My stomach twisted.

Scarlett. This was her move.

That evil pet !

I was the one being hunted now.

Part 2 : Scarlett POV

Early Morning – Scarlett's secret Apartment inside the calloway home .

I was still half-asleep when my phone buzzed.

It was Jason.

"Letty, babe. Morning," he said, his voice warm but tense.

"Hey Morning, babe," I answered, rubbing my eyes. "You okay?"

"I... I don't know. I had a weird feeling. That's why I called," he said. "You know how Lana is acting lately. And that's why I never wanted you to get too friendly with them. They're not good people, Letty. I'm no angel, but compared to them..."

"You're scaring me. Are you okay, Jason is there something ?"

"Yeah, yeah. It's just... Lana sent me a weird message earlier."

"What did she say?"

He hesitated. "She said, 'Come to our old place. We have a pet problem to solve , but lana don't have a pet so ...'"

My heart skipped. "Pet problem , without a pet ?"

"Yeah," he said. "I think she's talking about... an old victim of ours."

I nearly laughed. "Victim?"

Jason quickly backtracked. "You know, nothing serious. Maybe I misunderstood. I'll go check first before jumping to conclusions."

"And where's your old place, exactly?"

"Oh, you know it — Jadore Café. It's even close to Best Auto Society."

"Ah, that café... Okay. Take care of yourself, and tell me what happens, okay?"

"Yeah. I mean, maybe it's nothing."

But we both knew better.

Later That Day – Julia's POV Part 3 :

I was sipping my morning coffee when my phone rang. Scarlett.

"Julia," she said, sounding amused, "I think Sharon figured it out after the wall message."

I blinked, confused. "What? What wall message?"

She chuckled. "I wrote something... on the Calloway wall. Yesterday."

I nearly choked on my drink. "Scar! Why would you do that?! I thought we agreed to go slow!"

"And we are going slow, Julia. Relax," she replied, still laughing. "Besides, look — the old team is back. They invited Jason to their old spot. Jadore Café. They're probably planning something against me."

I sighed. "Seriously? Four against one and you're laughing?"

"No, no. Now it's three against two," she said. "I've got you. And Jason would never hurt me. Especially if he finds out Letty is actually Scarlett..."

I gasped. "Scarlett... you're playing with fire , and you know that ."

"Don't worry. Tomorrow, I'll sit just behind them. Listen to everything they say."

I almost yelled. "What?! But if they see you — if Letty just shows up behind them out of nowhere — they'll start putting the pieces together!"

She laughed again. "Relax. I'll be incognito. Cap, hoodie, mask. I'll sit behind Sharon, keep my head down, stay quiet. I'll be a ghost or no a ninja in the shadow thats better ."

"Scarlett, don't act crazy. It's too early for them to find out who you really are."

"Trust me, Julia. I got this."

Then she hung up.

And I had the sickest feeling in my chest that the storm had only just begun.
