CHAPTER 3 — The Weight of Abandonmen
The humid island air pressed against Aiden's skin as he walked deeper into the forest,
leaving his former teammates behind.
Their whispers of hatred still echoed behind him—fuel for his system,
strengthening him with every step.
Yet as he moved forward, a bitter heaviness settled in his chest.
He had been hated his whole life… but this was the first time it hurt.
He settled beside a quiet stream, watching the water ripple under faint sunlight.
His reflection trembled on the surface, and with it… memories resurfaced.
The World Before the Island—50 Years of Darkness
Fifty years ago, the world changed on New Year's night.
Millions gathered under fireworks, counting down to midnight.
"10… 9… 8…"
But when the clock struck ""12"", the sky tore open.
Portals—massive, jagged rifts—split the air.
From them poured endless waves of nightmarish creatures: goblins screeching,
ogres crushing fleeing humans, trolls tearing through barricades like paper.
Civilization collapsed within hours.
Then came the ""Awakening"".
People began manifesting talents—ranked from ""F up to SSS"".
Countries formed academies, training young awakeners to enter the new worlds born from portals, now called ""dungeons"".
But the cruel truth was known to all:
""The rank you awakened with was the rank you were chained to for life.""
No leveling.
No stat growth.
No second chances.
And among the newly awakened…
There was one boy whose life was decided the moment his talent appeared.
""Aiden Nightwalker — F Rank Talent: "All-Seeing Eye""
A talent most people mocked as useless.
It let him appraise items and monsters—handy, but powerless.
He was branded a burden, a parasite, a waste of academy resources.
Students whispered behind his back.
Teachers avoided eye contact.
His entire class voted to expel him.
But hidden deep within him was something the world had never seen:
""The Hate-to-Power Conversion System""
Every glare, every insult, every ounce of resentment directed at him…
turned into raw stats—strength, agility, mana, stamina—all rising without limit.
As long as someone hated him…
he grew.
And on this island, isolated with the very people who despised him most…
He was evolving faster than ever.---
Aiden clenched his fists, rising to his feet.
"Fine. Hate me all you want. I'll survive. I'll rise. And someday… you'll regret pushing me away."
The forest rustled behind him.
""Something… was watching him.""
Aiden's All-Seeing Eye activated on instinct.
A message flashed before him:
> ""[Unknown Creature Detected]""
> ""Rank: ??? (Cannot Evaluate)""
> ""Status: Observing You""
He froze.
*Something this strong… on the island?*
A shadow moved between the trees.
And then—
A massive yellow eye opened in the darkness.---
Chapter 03 Ends.
