Chapter 13 - Beheading the Devil

One day, during a dueling class, we had finished our routine training and were heading towards the exit gate of the training ground when the instructor stopped us to make an important announcement. "Students, there will be a competition for the best class at Freslakin Academy!" He paused for a few seconds to see our reactions before announcing the names of the nominees. "The team members nominated for this competition this class are Ruichi, Beatrice, Tom Grey, Lucy, Yuta, and Erwin." He then lowered his notebook to eye level. "Everyone who hears their name, get ready! The competition will begin in two months, so start training today to raise the profile of the elite class." I headed towards the exit with some annoyance and disinterest. "Why train? Training is boring. What's the point of training when all my opponents are weak? I'm leaving. Bye-bye." The instructor looked at me with a puzzled expression. "Yuta, aren't you training for the competition?" I looked at him. "Why should I train? Training is boring. I'll go and explore the city." Then I got up Leaving the training room

As I wandered through the city, which was bustling with people and all sorts of shops, I noticed some signs of astonishment at my creations. I headed towards a candy store, and as I was walking, I bumped into a little girl, causing her to fall to the ground. She looked at me with some annoyance. "Can't you see where you're going? Watch where you're walking!" I looked at her in surprise.

This girl is incredibly brave. My gaze then turned to her mother, who was walking towards us. When she arrived, she noticed the academy's logo on my shoulder, and her expression changed completely. "He's one of the academy's students!" She then rushed towards her daughter, grabbing her as she begged me not to do anything to her child. "Please don't hurt my little girl. She doesn't know anything!" My gaze then turned to the passersby who were just watching. They were all silent; no one tried to help her. My eyes were filled with disgust and contempt. Those scum, in my opinion. Then, with a small smile, he approached the woman and her child. "Why would I hurt your daughter? She was running around without looking. What's the big deal if she bumped into me?" A look of astonishment crossed her face as she looked at me. The students at that academy weren't exactly known for their nobility; their behavior was filled with arrogance, conceit, meanness, and vileness. "You really won't hurt my little girl?" "Yes, I won't do anything to her, so don't worry. You and your daughter are safe." I left, heading towards a restaurant to buy something sweet. A few minutes after I left, several men approached the woman. Their leader was a powerfully built man with a giant sword slung over his back. He approached her. "Sir, you must pay the debt you owe, or we will destroy your little shop." The woman, named Fatima, approached with some fear. "But the due date is three months. It's still early, Volger." A wicked smile spread across his face and the faces of his followers as they looked at her. He then pointed his sword at her neck, his face a murderous glare. "I want my money." "And we'll destroy your shop, understand?" Folger's gaze shifted from arrogance to astonishment at how easily a sword could be destroyed, as if it were made of cardboard. He looked up to find a young man with short black hair and violet eyes looking at him with disdain. "You know your place, you arrogant brat, or you'll lose your head. Understand that, Folger?" He took several steps back, sweat beading on his face. "Who are you, kid?" I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye, a look of amusement on my face. "You want to know who I am? Well, here I am. I'm Yuta Cassiral from the Vrsalkin Academy, from the elite class, student number one." "You're joking, right?" "No, I'm not joking. I'm serious. Look at the Vrsalkin Academy logo." He looked up at my shoulder and saw a logo with two swords in the shape of an X and a book underneath them in gold, proof that I was from the elite class. A smug smile spread across his face as he took the sword from his classmate. "Good. We'll get a generous reward from the Vrsalkin Academy for..." "Your safe return to them." He then sped towards me at the speed of light. I glanced at him with indifference, gathering a violet energy above my fingers and releasing it towards him. A look of astonishment and fear crossed his face as he saw a light violet orb near his face, but he couldn't avoid it. It severing his head, and his headless body fell to the ground. Blood gushed forth, and a heavy metallic odor filled the air, causing people to vomit or faint. I addressed his remaining followers: "Who among you wants to meet the same fate?" I then moved my fingers and middle fingers, unleashing a powerful wind that obliterated his body, leaving only scattered dust of blood. I pointed my hand towards Fatima and her daughter. "From this day forward, they are under my protection. Do you understand?" They fled, their faces etched with fear and panic. I slowly approached them until I reached her. "Well, I want to ask you, are you of Arab descent, Fatima?" "Yes, I am of Arab descent." "Good, very good." Signs appeared Fatima's face showed astonishment. "You can speak Arabic fluently." "Yes, I can speak it. Are you Muslim?" "Yes, I am Muslim." "That's very good. I am Muslim too." "How many Muslims are there now, Fatima?" "There are 5 billion Muslims across the human kingdom. That's a large number, but it's small compared to 20 billion humans." I stood up. "I have to leave, but before I leave, Kajita stood up." A man with short black hair and green eyes came out, slightly bowed, his hand on his chest in a respectful gesture. "Protect them 24/7. Understood, Kajita?" He replied respectfully without asking any questions. "Understood, sir." I then headed towards the academy, waving to them. "Goodbye. Take care." Two hours later, in a dark alley of the Vrsalkin Academy, far from prying eyes, several masked people were discussing something. "Listen, Jadid, we have to kidnap Lucy Kathalie and Yuta Cassiral in order to steal He made a contract with them and became the chief contractor with the ruler of Spacetime. "Let's easily conquer a kingdom, and then rule the Aquina Empire." They then sped off at breakneck speed, and I was sitting on the roof of a building listening to their conversation.

"Hahaha, how fun! They want to kidnap me! How exciting!" "It's going to be a beautiful night." In the middle of the night, the group leader turned his gaze towards five people who were carrying strange objects in their hands. "Throw the mana stand immediately!" They responded to his order in unison. "Yes, sir, as you wish." "Now throw the bombs!"

Activating it, the electromagnetic charge caused everyone to faint, draining the power of the squirrel. "Disperse to their rooms quickly; the effect won't last more than four hours." They headed towards our apartments. It was an easy kidnapping; there was no resistance.

An hour later, "We've got them, Chief Firmin." A satisfied smile spread across his face as he looked at us. "Good. Let's leave quickly through the gate to Commander Kazumaro Quintry." A blue runic gate appeared. They entered, transporting them to a location several hours' walk from the academy.

Five minutes later...

A young man with blond hair and red eyes sat on his throne, looking down at the man who had led the group that kidnapped me and Lucy. He knelt on the ground, face down. "Chief Kazumaro Quintry, we have brought you two contractors: one with the Governor of the Place and one with the Governor of Time."

Kazumaro's gaze was calm and neutral, and he tried to maintain this as best he could. "Very well. Take me to their location." "Yes, sir." As they walked, Kazumaro was lost in thought, gathering his scattered thoughts.

I have completed the most important stage of my plan to overthrow this corrupt system. There will be no place left in this world for those vile nobles. I will make them taste their own medicine tenfold. I will make them regret the suffering I have endured since childhood because of them. I lost everything: my family, everyone I loved, even my freedom.

Fermin, the leader of that group, brought Kazumaro out of his reverie, informing him that they They arrived.

"We have arrived, sir." His gaze fell upon a young man and woman lying on two beds. Victory and joy were etched on his face, but he quickly realized his mistake and firmly ordered Fermín to leave. "Leave this place, and I don't want anyone to disturb me, no matter what, understood?" "Understood, sir." Fermín left the room without another word. A while after he left, a red aura spontaneously emanated from Kazumaru's body. "Hahahaha! I've succeeded in finding contractors for the Lord of Place and the Lady of Time. After that, I will rule the Kingdom of Kamalta, and then the Empire of Aquina. I will destroy the monarchy entirely and make everyone equal, noble and poor alike." His tone hardened. "And if they don't obey, I will annihilate them." He felt a hand on his shoulder, and his expression changed to shock. "Wow, a beautiful goal, but there's a flaw in it. Millions will die for an equality that might just be a lie." Kazumaru moved three meters away from me, sweat pouring down his face as he sensed the overwhelming, tyrannical power emanating from me. There was an aura A dark, murderous intent filled his eyes, transforming them into demonic ones, but instead of red pupils, they were violet, and instead of white, they were a deep, dark black. "How can you still be awake after the mana was completely shut down from your body?" "And who said I only use mana? I also have immunity against all magical devices, or in other words, I have immunity against all magical manipulations, or magic in particular. Do you understand, Kazumaro Quintry?" My gaze shifted between a mixture of intensity and interrogation as a dark aura, distorting his very being, filled the room. "Do you know what happens to me when my contract with a ruler is taken?"

"..."

"No response. Fine, no problem. A contractor dies and goes to an assassin. You want to kill me and this fool with me, so..." I stood beside him in an instant, unable to do anything to you. "I'll give you two choices. The first is that I become the leader of the Demon Head Squad and establish equality and rule the Empire."

"The second is that you both die in the most gruesome way possible." Because of your attempt to kill me."

"And what do you want to choose? But choose wisely, Kazumaro Quinteri." "I accept to step down from the leadership of the Demon Head Squad to you." My eyes returned to their original form and a tyrannical aura vanished from the place. "And call the members, Kazumaro." "Alright, fighters, come." After a while, in a room where the throne was located, I was sitting on it in a luxurious and comfortable position at the same time. Kazumaro was on my right. Everyone's looks were full of surprise and astonishment. How could that boy stand in the place of Master Kazumaro? How he was still awake in the first place—these were the two questions swirling in the minds of every member of the Demon Head Squad. Kazumaro broke the silence, announcing the new leader of the squad: "This is your new leader, Yuta Casserale. Understood, soldiers?" A loud shout erupted from everyone: "Understood, sir!" I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye. "How many members are on the squad, Kazumaro?" "Sixty." "Good." I stood up, and an overwhelming aura filled the space, causingthem to fall to the ground. "I want you to learn assassination and espionage... One last thing: anyone who tries to betray me or acts cleverly will regret the day they breathed life into me." I stopped my aura and threw down a book containing advanced assassination and espionage techniques. "Here are books on assassination and espionage techniques." A non-human creature with pale skin and demonic eyes appeared. It had a powerful physique. "This is a demon called the Master of Assassins, Azurde. He will teach you all the methods." Assassination and Espionage: "A runic gate appeared, transporting them to another world where they would train in assassination. This would be a door to the Time Chamber, the place where they would train for a full year. It wouldn't open for a year, and one month inside would be equivalent to 10,000 years." They spoke in unison while kneeling. "Understood." Then they began entering the gate one by one.

Early the next morning, at the gate's entrance, I was carrying Lucy on my back, exhaustion etched on my face. I fainted right in front of the gatekeeper. His expression was a mixture of worry and fear because of the blood on my clothes. After five hours in a room at the academy's infirmary, Lucy slowly opened the door to find herself in the infirmary. "What happened? Where am I?" "How did you get to the infirmary?" Her gaze fell upon Erwin Beatrice, who was lost in thought, reviewing a book. She shook her to snap her out of it. "What's wrong? Why are you shaking me?" Lucy ignored Beatrice's silly question and got down to business. "Tell me what happened and why I'm here?" Beatrice shifted in her seat, placing a book in her bag. She took a deep breath before answering. "Last night at 10:54 PM, a group of thieves attacked the academy and threw mana-blocking grenades. Then they kidnapped you and Yuta." Her gaze fell upon me, still unconscious and looking unwell. "Who saved us from the.Sauce," Beatrice remained silent for several minutes before speaking. "You won't believe this, so Erwin will tell you." Erwin began to grumble, shouting, "Why me... well..." Lucy's veins felt like they were about to burst from the tension and their hesitation. "Speak, Erwin! Who saved us from the thieves?" Erwin sighed deeply, placing a hand on his forehead. "Who saved you? No one went to save you because the location was unknown. The one who saved you was Yuta. He carried you on his back all night to rescue you from criminals who had experienced a severe mana surge due to the forced use of mana." Signs of disbelief were evident on Lucy's face. "What? You're joking, right, Erwin? A clever trick that won't work on me." "I'm not joking, and look, his condition is much worse than yours. He's still unconscious because of his mana reflex, and the doctor says he could go into a coma if he doesn't wake up after three weeks. That's all I know so far." Lucy stood up Shifting her position to lean back against a pillow that felt like a cloud of cotton, she said, "So, in this case, it's because of Beatrice?" "Yes, he sacrificed himself to save you from those criminals." Erwin looked at Beatrice in surprise. "Is what I'm thinking correct? Does she love him and blame Lucy for what happened to him, or is this just her mentality?" "What's wrong, Erwin? Why are you looking at me like that?" "Oh, nothing. I'm just surprised by your honesty." The doctor entered the room, rescuing Erwin from that embarrassing situation. He went to Lucy, then to me, to perform several routine examinations before speaking with both Beatrice and Erwin. "You both need to leave so that two patients can rest. They are still injured, and Mrs. Lucy needs to rest for a week inside the Academy Hospital." "Very well, Dr. Agirres." Armin and Beatrice bid him farewell as they headed towards the door. "Goodbye. Take care." Lucy's expression turned to sadness and despair. They were very angry after they left.

Thirty minutes after they left, Lucy was berating herself for her weakness and for being easy prey for her enemies. "I was weak, and that's why someone got hurt because of me. How pathetic of me! I was protected by someone I didn't expect, Yuta Casseraal. This is a debt I will repay soon." Meanwhile, Grey, Beatrice, Tom, Roichi, and Armin were gathered in Roichi's room, as it was the largest. "What was the reason for Lucy and Yuta's kidnapping?" Grey answered Erwin's question. "We don't know, but of course there must be a reason." Tom interrupted their discussion, remembering something. "There's something. Yuta has a security camera in his room. He put it there to watch for thieves. Why don't we watch the security camera footage?" Roichi interrupted him. "But not today. It's late. We'll check it tomorrow. Okay... Good evening."

They then headed to their rooms, as it was late, 7 PM, and tomorrow would be a long day with lectures and training in various fields.
