"I was instructed by the Head Tutor to represent the teachers of the palace, Your Highness," Shin replied calmly.
Soren looked at shin's eyes as if he was searching for any dishonesty but all he could find was sincerity.
He slowly rose his hand and gestured the guard to let him go. "I'll let this pass. But don't act so recklessly again. If you continue behaving this way, you'll have more enemies than students to teach." Soren stated as if he was telling to be aware.
The guard let go of him and went back to Soren's side.
Shin understood and nodded his head as he slowly got up. "Yes, Your highness. Please forgive me for my rudeness and recklessness." Shin said while bowing his head.
Soren nodded "You may leave now.. be careful. He muttered under his breath.
Shin rose to his height and turned to leave. "Thank you, your highness."
Soren watched him leave. His eyes never leaving his figure as if he was trying to figure out something. Shin felt familiar yet a stranger to him at the same time yet he couldn't tell why.
A sudden flash of memory hit him hard; the blurry path where Shin walked mirrored Asher's final steps so perfectly that the past and present began to bleed together. Soren held his head before murmuring.
"Cassian, would you have.... given him chance too, if you were here?"
