Alistair slammed his foot down on the accelerator. "Grip something!"
I yanked Phoebe back against her seat. "Stay put. Don't stress about it. Trust Alistair—he won't let those bastards slip away."
Mack had some serious nerve, strolling right up to Clearwater University's main entrance in the middle of the day like he owned the place.
Now that I thought about it, the pieces clicked together perfectly.
Jeremy worked as the campus doctor at Clearwater University, where security had gotten sloppy lately.
With strangers constantly coming and going and guards barely doing their jobs, Mack could easily slip inside and hook up with Jeremy.
Hell, maybe that medicine bottle with the distinctive marking that showed up in the infirmary's cabinet got there the exact same way.
My frown deepened as a thought hit me: 'Why would that medicine surface now? Who at Clearwater University would even notice it? Who would actually care enough to investigate?'
