Harold's POV
My arrival seemed to create a suffocating atmosphere that made everyone in the room tense up with unease.
Carol, who had been speaking with such confidence moments before, suddenly went rigid. "Harold-"
My sudden explosion nearly sent Chad into cardiac arrest, but he had no option except to try and smooth things over. "Listen, Harold, let's discuss this rationally. We shouldn't frighten the students, right?"
Charlies bobbed his head desperately in agreement. He was already scared out of his wits and couldn't handle any more terror. I could practically see the panic written across his face as he glanced nervously between Carol and me, clearly blaming Carol for this entire mess.
I looked over at Phoebe, who hadn't shifted even slightly and maintained her relaxed, indifferent stance.
Taking Phoebe's comfort into account, I grudgingly pulled back my icy attitude. Whether Charlies was frightened didn't matter to me.
