Harold's POV
Every time my crew and I got together, we inevitably ended up discussing business. Once the alcohol kicked in, our conversations always drifted toward deals and corporate partnerships.
"So, did you check out that proposal I had delivered to you? What's your take?" Lucas lifted his glass toward me.
I looked up with a smirk. "Oh, I read it alright. Went straight into the paper shredder. Who the hell drafted that mess? Read like a middle schooler's homework."
"Are you kidding me? I stayed up several nights straight writing that proposal, and you just destroyed it?" Lucas nearly exploded.
I could see the indignation on his face, as if he were thinking, 'The nerve of this guy questioning my work.'
Charlies was chomping away at his meal while listening in. When he caught Lucas's wounded tone, he couldn't suppress his laughter.
From the look on his face, I could tell Charlies was thinking my brutal honesty wasn't just reserved for him.
