Phoebe's POV
We all watched as Harold made his way toward us. Several people spotted him along the route, eagerly rushing over to greet him. Some were so persistent that Brittany, Boyce, and I briefly wondered if they might drag him away entirely.
But apparently, not everyone could simply invite Harold and expect him to go along with it.
He finally reached our row and, without me having to say anything, settled down next to us like it was completely normal.
"Mr. Bailey, pleasure to meet you. We're Phoebe's friends," Brittany jumped in quickly, always good at reading situations.
She pulled Boyce along as she introduced them. "Wasn't expecting to see you here."
Harold nodded courtously. "Nice to meet you both. Since you're Phoebe's friends, I'll take care of tonight's bill."
Brittany's hands flew up in protest. "Oh no, that's not necessary. We came ready to pay our own way tonight."
"Don't worry about it. Phoebe's friends are my friends too," Harold said smoothly.
