Charlies froze completely, staring at the screen like he couldn't believe his eyes. He hit replay, watching the footage one more time.
The video captured everything - Katie's secret rendezvous with Jeremy, their twisted scheming laid bare for all to see.
Every damning second was there.
Crystal clear faces, unmistakable voices, rock-solid evidence.
No way to fake something this comprehensive. What the hell was Katie thinking? Actually joining forces with someone who could be a damn terrorist? Did she really believe she was untouchable? With that kind of judgment, she'd get conned and still thank the scammer for the privilege.
Charlies finally found his voice after what felt like forever. "Harold, so Katie was really part of the plot to harm Phoebe?"
I exhaled slowly. "That's right. And Alistair's sudden return to the country? You can connect the dots. He was hunting down Mack."
