Ash blinked sloely and delibaretly, his mouth open , he tried to speak but he couldnt formulate the words.
His brain shortcircuited, gears shifted , springs turned until finally it snapped back into working order.
Ash turned his head side to side, a gesture and stance one of dismissal.
"No thanks" , the come out of his mouth. His mind and body catching up to one another.
The woman smiled and winked at him. Turning around and walking away, humming ias she disappeared into the alses.
Ash stood there, his expression more confused that suprised or shocked.
He shook his head, deciding to continue with what he was doing.
"Damn what a weird day," he says to himself.
He approaches the counter, placing the hotdogs infront of the cashier.
The cashier scans and packs the hotdogs into a small paper. In that moment, alAsh completely zones out.
"Sir.....sir.....SIR....hmmmm...HEY, YOU PIECE OF SHIT, ARE YOU GOING TO PAY UP OR ARE YOU JUST GONNA LOOK UP AND DAYDREAM!!."
The cashier screamed. Her voice sharp and full of distain and inpatience.
Ash immediately snaps out, he looks around, trying to get his bearings. He blushes and ummediately grabs his wallet
"Oh right...ummmm.....23.90 right?" He asks, his face flushed a shade of light pink.
He hands her the money without making eye contact, his too nervous now to do anything normal.
The cashier grabs the money out of his hand, slapping his hand a little, was it on purpose, maybe who could know.
"Tsh...damn it, stuck in this deadend job serving idiots like you, typical...." , she says, placing the money in the register.
She counts and hands him his change.
"Here.....now take your change and get ou-." She pauses mid sentence.
Her eyes widened as if she'd seen a ghost, her grip on the money losened immediately, it fell to the ground, coins clatterimg all over.
Ash looked up and froze, his eyes widenimg as well.
"No...way....Chloe!!." Ash said, his voice filled with genuine emotion.
The cashier, who's name is Chloe slowly smiles, the shock on her face replaced with elated joy.
"No fucking way, if it isnt Ash fucking Moon." She said, her tone full of joy and warm opposed to before.
Ash smiled, his face bright and full of joy, his eyes full of pure childish joy.
Ash hasn't seen Chloe got expelled from junior high in her first year for beating up the principles kid.
She was expelled and transfered to another school.
"Man how have you been, did you graduate yet?"Chloe asked, leaning forward.
"Ive been good, you know, just going through the moods, you know.....so how have you been?, did you graduate?" Ash asked, trying to dodge a simple question.
Chloe smirked, pumping her chest forward, her breasts straining against her store uniform.
"Hell Yeah!!, like id fail high school, anyway enough about me for now, wanna catch up, you know like old times?" She asked.
Ash looked at the store clock, it was 17 : 44 pm, it was getting late, his parents ould start getting worried..
But it was Chloe, his best female friend in the world, he took a deep breathe and gave a cocky smirk.
"Sure, just like old times." He said.
Chloe smiled and jumped over the counter. "Come on then, lets get out of here." She said, as she started taking off her uniform.
She says as she starts walking away. Ash follows her closely behind.
"Hey, arent you working, i could just wait untill you get off." Ash says, not wanting Chloe in trouble.
"Dont worry, i wanted a good reason to quit my job anyway." She says, going to the back if the store.
She finds an old door barely clinging to life on the hendges. She kicks it multiple times ubtill it breaks open.
"Hey Dipshit boss, i just wanted to say that thank you the opportunity to work in this hell hole you call an establishment."
"I am greatfull for the torture and suicidal mindset this place had given me."
She says, she completely removed her uniform and threw ot torwards him.
"Anyway, i quit, and yes i know youre a fast prick whk would even let me screw your wife but hey at least you have a recidimg hair line and death at every corner."
"Better watch your back" she says, placimg her necktie in her former employer's mouth.
She opens the register in his office and takes everything. "Oh yeah, this 'field trip' fund is mine now.
She striddes out of the office, Ash stands there in shock before following her behind.
"Thay was....really stupid, but i respect you confidence.....i wish i had some". He says. But then the stord alarms rings across rhe building.
"Oh shit, come on we gotta get out of here, LAUFEN!!" She screams at Ash.
The building had been places on lock down, the police will arrive soon.
The two run torwards the nearest exist, Ash reaches and tries to open the door but its stuck.
Chloe jumps through the window, glass sbattering , Ash follows suit. He manages to lift and carry her on his shoulders.
Ash struggles at first, not used to her weight, Ash starts running as fast as he can.
Chloe starts to move and turn on his back, her hand tracing circles his back.
"See, just like the old times." She says.
Ash rolls his eyes but gives a small smile.
"Yeah, like old times." He says.
