Chapter 92 - Chapter 92 — Robin Green

Chapter 92 — Robin Green

The moment the name Elias left his lips—

Young Robin froze.

(≖_≖'')

"Hey… are you testing me or something?"

"—You're cautious," Elias said with a faint smile.

Then he repeated calmly:

"I am the one your Green family has been searching for."

"The demon who wanders the world, immortal for a thousand years—

the one named Elias."

"—What?!"

"But you don't even have horns—mmph!"

Robin didn't get to finish.

Before his eyes, Elias shed his human guise, revealing the sharp horns of the demon race.

Robin's shock was unmistakable, yet his expression remained guarded.

"Even if you're a demon… still—"

"—Robin Green."

Elias recalled the girl's smile from long ago.

And her final instruction.

"The sealing spell meant to imprison Elias… was also named Robin Green."

...

Robin stood completely stunned.

The naming of Robin Green was a secret passed down only within the Green bloodline—

even the Cole family, who stole the magic, had never known this.

"Two thousand years."

"Ninety-nine generations."

"Elias… we, the Robin Greens, have finally found you!"

Robin snapped his head up. Overwhelmed by emotion, his entire face trembled and twisted.

Elias, however, had already returned to his calm composure.

He knew—

This was not the moment to celebrate.

Because Elias—the magic—was still in the hands of the Cole family.

But before that…

"Robin," Elias said, "I want to know how Elias was created—and how it was stolen."

Robin took a deep breath.

"What I know was passed down to me by my father—the ninety-eighth Robin Green."

"Two thousand years ago, the First Robin Green devoted her entire life to completing the spell Elias, along with the sealing magic Robin Green."

"However, she was never able to find any trace of you… and passed away."

"Before her death, she entrusted her wish to future generations, ordering it to be passed down without fail."

"She also instructed that if Elias were ever stolen—"

"—then Robin Green was to be used to seal it inside the mind of one of her descendants."

"—Wait."

Elias interrupted sharply.

"Are you saying Robin Green is a mental-type sealing spell?"

"Yes."

"The First Robin Green doubted the reliability of physical sealing magic."

"So she decided to use the mental world of her descendants as the vessel instead."

"That way, no enemy could ever know which Robin Green's mind held the seal of Elias."

"—Heh…"

Elias let out a quiet laugh.

"A human-wave tactic, huh."

Elias couldn't help but shake his head in admiration.

That girl had been monstrously talented.

"Unfortunately…"

Robin suddenly changed tone.

"At the sealing ritual of the 50th Robin Green, the Cole family seized the opportunity."

"They not only stole Elias—they also stole Robin Green."

"The Green family fought desperately, but all we managed to preserve was the Appendix Page of Robin Green."

Robin took out an ancient, yellowed fragment and handed it to Elias.

"This appendix page can only be deciphered once it's returned to the main grimoire."

"So even I don't know what's written on it."

"…I see."

Elias accepted the fragment.

"What happened after that?"

At once, fury ignited in Robin's eyes.

"After the Cole family succeeded, Elias vanished completely."

"We searched for a full thousand years—until the outbreak of the Total War."

"Thinking their crime had long been buried, the Cole family began rising within the Allied Army."

"Then, a few years ago, my father discovered the truth."

"The Supreme Commander of the Allied Army—Theodore—is a descendant of the Cole family!"

"And the so-called family heirloom he flaunts, Arisols…"

"…is Elias."

Robin breathed heavily, rage trembling through his body.

Elias watched the veins bulging on his forehead and gave him a moment to calm down.

"Then… does that mean Elias and Leiya have already—"

"—Yes."

At that moment, the hatred in Robin's eyes faded.

What replaced it was cold, settled killing intent.

"A few years ago, my father infiltrated Silverlake Manor, trying to reclaim Elias."

"He was outnumbered."

"He barely escaped… but died from his wounds."

Robin paused, forcing down his grief.

"To preserve Elias—and the Cole family's reputation—"

"Theodore decided to use Robin Green to seal Elias inside his daughter…"

"…inside Leiya."

Everything clicked into place.

Now Elias finally understood why Robin had tried to assassinate Leiya.

One reason—to reclaim Elias.

The other—to avenge his father.

Just then—

Robin curled his lips into a sneer.

"That old fox Theodore thought sealing the treasure would make everything foolproof."

"What's laughable is this—"

"Even after hiring the strongest mage in the world to perform the seal…"

"…it still went wrong!"

"He turned his own daughter into a cripple!"

"Hahahaha…"

"This is divine punishment!"

Elias fully understood now.

But one phrase Robin had uttered moments earlier suddenly set off alarm bells in his mind.

"The strongest mage in the world…?"

"…Don't tell me."

Robin laughed darkly.

"Yeah. Who would've thought?"

"The one who used Robin Green to seal Elias…"

"…was the pinnacle of all mages."

"The living archive of magic."

"The being closest to omniscience beneath the Goddess herself—"

"The Great Mage Serie."

...

...

You

OLD.

DWARF.

WITCH.

Elias's magic exploded outward.

So violently that the sky itself brightened.

Robin had to cling to a massive tree trunk just to avoid being blown away.

"Woah…"

"As expected of a myth-era Great Demon."

"This level of magic is just… insane."

Robin couldn't even find words—only awe.

Elias drew on patience accumulated over a thousand years and forcibly calmed himself.

He should've realized earlier.

The floating stairs, the enchanted doors of Leiya's tower—

every last spell bore Serie's signature.

At the same time—

The sun rose.

The sky truly grew bright.

Elias had made his decision.

"Robin. Leave the rest to me."

"…Huh?"

"No way!"

Robin thumped his chest.

"If you're going after Theodore, I'm coming with you!"

"—Not yet."

Elias suddenly split into three identical bodies.

"My true body will escort Leiya back safely. You stay out of that."

"One clone will take you to a village in the northern outskirts. Wait there for news."

Robin stared blankly at the remaining clone.

"Then… what about the third one?"

"Heh."

Elias lowered his head, smiling coldly.

"That one?"

"That one is going to pay a visit to a certain scheming, backstabbing, smiling-knife-in-the-dark, blond-haired bastard."

...

Morning came.

As Elias returned a furious Leiya to her room—

A shadow wreathed in black miasma stepped into a resplendent palace.

For some reason—

The golden-haired elf was not seated upon her throne.

Instead, she sat neatly on the floor.

As though she had been waiting all along.

Serie: «(=ω=)»

"Elias."

"Good morning~"
