Chapter 5 - 5. Destiny Mirror

Then he turned toward the lifeless body lying near the stone floor. Xiao Dong, a protagonist-type character. Actually it was past, now its a body.

Lin Chen narrowed his eyes.

"Protagonists always come with golden fingers. If he didn't have one, he wouldn't dare offend me from the start."

He raised his hand and a strand of divine sense scanned the corpse. After crossing Soul transformation realm, he can use divine sense that is more powerful than soul sense.

'Good. Not bad. A few decent treasures… As expected of a protagonist, having such rare treasure in starting.'

Then something faint. Almost invisible. A quiet pulse of destiny aura.

Lin Chen crouched, pushing aside xiao dong's robes—revealing a small mirror tucked close to his heart.

It was a strange, ancient mirror carved with intricate runes. Having such ordinary thing possessed by these rare treasure rat protagonist, is proof its extraordinary nature.

"What's this? System, can you tell me details."

The System chimed immediately.

[ Primordial Treasure detected.

 Name- Destiny Mirror

 Grade- Heaven-defying.

Origin- Created by the damaged Heavenly Dao of a low-level world. Can see recent opportunities and destiny of people. ]

Lin Chen's lips curled into a slow, wicked smile. He stroked the mirror gently.

"So Xiao dong wasn't a ring-type protagonist… but a destiny-type. No wonder he has such rare collection of treasures in his possession."

He had first search his ring but there is nothing is special. Then he even check his inner physique, as most of protagonist have these type of golden finger in novels.

"Hmph… Heaven chose the wrong pawn."

He stood, dusting off Xiao Dong's corpse with disdain. With his breakthrough complete, and a protagonist's golden finger in hand…

Lin Chen was still admiring the Destiny Mirror's runic surface when—

Knock! Knock!

A hurried voice sounded from outside his courtyard.

"Holy Son! Are you inside? Sect Master asked me to remind you—we leave for the Imperial Genius Gathering soon!"

Lin Chen's brows creased.

Imperial… gathering? Already? Didn't that event happen… three days later?

He flicked the mirror into his ring and calmly said, "Enter."

The door slid open and the same true disciple from before rushed in, cupping his hands respectfully.

"Holy Son, we must gather at the main teleportation platform. Others are already preparing. If you don't arrive soon, the Sect Master will personally come."

Lin Chen blinked.

"…Preparing? It's still three days away."

The disciple froze. His polite smile stiffed slightly.

"E-eh? Holy Son… it's already been three days."

This made disciple cast a worried glance at Lin Chen's calm but unreadable expression. Lin Chen's mind blanked for a beat. He forced a very dignified smile.

"Ah… yes. I remember. I am coming."

The disciple bowed again, relieved. "Of course! Please proceed when ready, Holy son. We shall await your arrival."

He left quickly as silence returned in his room. He snapped in his mind:

"System. When the hell did three days pass?"

[ Host broke through from Soul Transformation to Soul Transformation perfection and then continuous breakthrough Nirvana Realm to Life and Death Early Stage. Did you think this process takes one minute? ]

[ It has been three days, twelve hours, and fourteen breaths. ]

The System answered with the tone of a tired schoolteacher forced to deal with a problematic but brilliant student. His tone made Lin chen's eyelids twitched.

"…I genuinely forgot."

[ Host was too busy experiencing the birth of Nirvana Rules, Life and Death Power, new physique transformation and then rummaging through a protagonist's corpse. It is understandable based on your IQ. ]

Lin Chen rubbed his temples.

Three days gone just like that… no wonder my bones feel lighter.

Lin Chen exhaled softly.

"Three days… tch. Good thing no one broke into my room. The celestial dao bone phenomenon would have lit up half the sect."

He recalled how he had forced the System to hide every heavenly vision. Had he not done so, the entire Asura Cloud Holy Land would be bowing at his doorstep.

Then he glanced at Xiao Dong's corpse again.

"Forget you. A heaven-chosen who died without even seeing his own destiny mirror used properly."

He burn the body aside lightly and straightened his robes.

Time to go.

In the Imperial Genius Gathering… Black Emperor city… All major young geniuses, holy sons, saintness, royal heirs… Those who are Heaven chosen one, its time for all of you surrender infront of this villain.

A slow grin spread across his lips. With a wave of his hand, he stepped out of the courtyard, heading toward the teleportation platform.

The platform itself was a wide, circular formation inscribed with countless runes that shimmered faintly under the morning sun. Spiritual mist drifted around it like living serpents.

Nearly fifty disciples were already standing there. About forty-plus were Core Disciples with their Golden core auras condensed and stable. The remaining five were True Disciples, sitting cross-legged, radiating the unmistakable soul sense of Soul Transformation Realm cultivators.

Lin Chen's gaze swept over them. He recognized the five immediately.

A beautiful young woman in icy-blue robes. Long silver hair flowed behind her like moonlit silk. Her eyes were cold and clear, her name is Bai Ruoyan.

A tall young man dressed in plain gray. A single sword hung at his waist, yet its sword intent filled half the platform. His name is Jian Wuji, famous for his sword fighting. He opened his eyes briefly, slicing the air with invisible pressure, then closed them again.

One next to him is Zhao Tianhu with thick arms, tiger-like eyes and wild aura. His physique radiated brute force.

That one gentle scholar with bookish robes and a folding fan is Mu Qingfeng. He looks harmless—but always smiling too gently. There is also thin, pale and black-clothed is Fang Heiyu.

A core disciple whispered:

"Holy Son arrived at last…"

"The Sect Master delayed departure for him…"

"He must've been cultivating again… will they blame him…"

Lin chen kept his expression indifferent, perfectly carrying a villainous young master's demeanor.

A sudden ripple spread through the air. The clouds over the platform parted as a majestic pressure descended. A middle-aged man in azure-gold robes walked forward. His every step carried the weight of a mountain.

His cultivation… unfathomable. Completely unreachable. He is Azura Cloud Sect Master — Yun Guang.

Beside him stood another old man with half-white and black hair. This was elder Mo Cang, a powerhouse who would escort them.
