**Huh!!!?**
"Just that?". The blonde haired man who just proclaimed himself as a God asked puzzled.
"What did you expect....shock?....fear?....To be honest I wanted to doubt you but I vividly recall every detail of my death and I won't delude myself into thinking this is a dream". He said with a shrug.
"Haa....How peculiar. He said with a sigh
.....You know, I did stop myself from reading your mind but now I'm starting to regret that. Your thought process intrigues me". He said in a tone that made him sound impressed.
"Did you just admit that you can read minds and you almost read mine". He said staring blankly.
"A God remember?....Oh and the key word there is almost. He said teasingly.
But Malakai just continued staring at him blankly. Not entertaining his terrible attempt at trying to get under his skin.
"Tsk...how boring". He said clicking his tongue.
"Fine....down to business....I stopped your soul from reincarnating because I have an offer for you....a quest if you choose to call it that way.
You'll get to reincarnate into another world and you're going to work for me by completing certain tasks."
"And why would I want to do that?.....why should i help you?". Asked Malakai.
"Your brother". Replied the blonde haired man making Malakai narrow his eyes. "Don't you want to know how and why he disappeared?". He added
"My brother didn't dissappear....He died". Malakai retorted.
"Well did he now?...then tell me....how did he 'die'. He asked.
And silence filled the space at his question. And this silence stunned Malakai more because he felt he knew the answer, yet everytime he tries to say it his mind goes blank.
Like a part of his mind didn't fully know but just accepted that he died without asking the question....how.
"So....you get what I was trying to say....the deal is you work for me for a certain amount of time in a new word and I'll help you find out what really happened to that brother of yours".
"Oh and for the record he isn't on Gaia anymore....I checked".
"How are you so sure he didn't really die and he's still out there". Malakai asked in a tone that made it clear he didn't trust the man. Not one bit.
"Well I don't.... And I never said he's still out there....But what I do know is that the Existence known as Ezekiel Zoltáir never died on Gaia. He said in a tone that left out any reason of doubt.
....So are you in or not?"
"Fine but I have a few questions I'd like answers to". Malakai replied. "Alright...go on"...the man encouraged.
"Firstly, what world am I going to be reincarnated into and what do I need to know about it?"
"Well....you already know everything about the world. He said as a sly smile graced his lips".
Malakai stared at him for a solid minute then it finally clicked.
"You don't mean the fucked up game my lunatic of a brother was addicted to right?".
"That's exactly what I mean". He replied with a sadistic grin unbefitting a God.
"Well shit". He cursed seemingly regretting his life choices.
One might wonder what got Malakai cursing. Well a few years ago a game was released by a well known company. The game was known simply as Xenovia.
A VRMMORPG game with millions of players worldwide.
The game was so good that it became mainstream just a month after it was released. But then another issue came to light.
The game seemed unbeatable and always seemed to end in the main cast dying, half the population of the world dying, or total world annihilation.
And how did Malakai know about this game, well his sadistic brother saw to it that he knew the lore behind the whole game before they spent countless nights trying to beat it.
Thus making them the first two people in the world to beat the whole game. But that isn't the point of the story right now.
"Haaaa....Why exactly do you need me for this task?". Malakai sighed as he asked the question that made him curious the most.
" I can't tell you that but I'll tell you something else....with the monstrous potential I see in you....you won't die ... I think". He replied whilst give him a double thumbs up.
"Well that sounds convincing". He said with as much sarcasm as he could squeeze into each syllable.
"Oh you do understand sarcasm....weren't you supposed to be an emotionless doll?". He asked trying to get more reactions from him.
"I plead the fifth". Malakai replied dryly, already tired of this entire ordeal.
"Ha ha ha..... The God laughed uncontrollably and wiped a metaphoric tear from his eye.
....That was a good one....haven't had a good laugh in centuries". He said as he patted his chest.
"Well I guess we have a deal then?".He said as he extended his hand for a handshake.
"Yes, yes we do". Said Malakai as he locked hands with the man in a firm handshake.
As they agreed, tendrils of blue energy suddenly surged from the arm of the blonde haired man.
Suddenly snaking from his arm to the back of Malakai's palm as runes began to form causing him to feel a strange inch.
"And what Is this supposed to be?. He asked curiously.
"That's a mana oath....it binds us to our agreement and if either of us breaks it we lose basically half of our soul....which technically means death and a penalty that would make me wish I was dead ." He said casually.
Malakai knew he knew that the God knew more than he let on but didn't ask about it.
"Oh and my name is Elion....Elyon Crowley....Too much spoilers kills the plot". He said with a wink. Only to be met with a tired sigh.
"Joykill....Anyway....It's time....you ready?". He asked seemingly concerned.
Malakai closed his eyes and took a deep breath....mentally preparing himself for what's to come. "Yes". He replied.
After his confirmation, he started turning transparent until he finally disappeared in a shimmer of blue light.
Now left alone, Elion muttered to himself seemingly lost in thought. As a trail of blood ran down the edge of his mouth.
"It is done old friend and I sincerely hope it's enough for what's to come".He said wiping the blood off his face with a white handkerchief.
Then he took a step and vanished.
