One month before the Exam
"So your dumbass broke every bone in your arm trying out your quirk, got jumped to UA and healed there and you're only now wanting my help?"
Jason asked at the beach and he turned to Inko Midoriya, the Mother of Izuku who he had introduced to Jason a few weeks before.
"Ma'am, your son is a workaholic"
Into sighed as she sat on her beach chair and nodded while Izuku squawked.
"Your one to talk! You over used your quirk a week ago and tore every muscle in your thigh! You physically couldn't walk no matter how hard you tried."
Jason tsked and rolled his eyes.
"That's different."
"How?"
"I had the power of drugs and spite on my side. You have blind hope and religious hero worship."
Izuku ducked forward and threw a lightning fast right hook into Jasons liver and Jason collapsed.
"Aughhhh.. you son of a wonderful mother."
Jason growled and knelt on the ground while Inko just rolled her eyes quickly getting used to the brother dynamic.
"You gonna help me or not? All Might just said I was a an egg or something."
"Yeah I'll help you, I just got to make sure you don't scramble yourself right?"
Jason stretched and got up with a wince.
"Lets get started"
Later
'Ten seconds, only ten seconds for every use of my quirk. Izuku can only separate his quirk into a single part of his body.'
Jason was upside down on his ratty couch starring at a cup that was catching water from the ceiling.
"Are we there yet? All I can do is train to extend my time limit… am I missing something?"
The filing dripped again and the water rose higher than the bucket. Jason sighed and reached over to a cup he had sitting on the table and scooped out some water and dumped it into the sink. Then he froze.
'Oh shit… That's it!'
He pulled out his phone with frantic hands and sent a message to Izuku labeled as "To kind to die"
*Get up, meet at the beach. I know how to help you.*
He ignored the message follow up and raced out the door. It's so simple! How could he not see it!
At The Beach
"Jason- *Yawn* what do you want? Its like 11'a clock"
Izuku slowly drawled out and Jason rolled his eyes.
"Dosent matter, wake up. I need you to focus for this."
Izuku rubbed his eyes and nodded.
"Fill your body with your quirk, immerse yourself in it."
Jason said and Izuku nodded and closed his eyes, after a moment Izukus body began to glow with green lighting arching across his body. He winced in pain but held it.
"Now imagine taking a cup and scooping out a small amount of that power from the sea it is and only holding that."
Izuku paused and grit his teeth as he tried. It took ten minutes but obviously Izuku could feel the difference as he did not stop. His quirk would go out or it would surge and he would gasp in pain. But after a while the light dimmed and the lighting arched around him but less frequent.
"I-It worked…"
Izuku gasped and Jason grinned. He pumped his fist and pointed at him.
"Hah! I did it! I was able to help you control your quirk."
"We weren't competing!"
"I was! And I won!"
Jason grinned and Izuku glared at him for a moment but it broke into a small grin. After a moment Izuku looked slightly confused.
"What? Something wrong?"
Jason asked immediately and Izuku shook his head.
"No- its… It feels like I can go farther…"
Jason grinned and stepped a few feet away from him and smirked at him.
"Then let's see it."
Izuku grinned and pumped his fists and got ready.
Jason tossed up a coin and they both got ready.
The coin flipped once, twice, three times then it hit the ground.
Izuku blitzed forward and Jason grinned activating his quirk as his eyes flashed red. Time slowed and he saw the cocky grin on Izukus face as he was already only a foot away from Jason when they had started twenty feet apart.
'Damn, he's fast now.'
Stepping forward he kicked his feet slightly back as he stepped to the side and he watched as Izukus eyes slowly morphed into shock. Jasons quirk ended and Izuku fell forward eating sand as Jason smiled. That quickly faded when in a green blur izuku dissapered and Jason quickly activated Bullet Time but it was too late. The moment time slowed he began to turn but felt a touch on the back of his head and before he could react his quirk was forced off and he was sent flying.
'Oh shit-'
He coughed sand out of his mouth and he turned and grinned at Izuku
"Hell Yeah! We can finally have spars with quirks now!"
'Finally, were close. We're so close. We can do it.'
Jason always had doubts, it was a treat of growing up on the streets. But watching the grin on Izukus face made a fire burn bright in his stomach. He had hope. They could really do this.
