Chapter 63 - 63: Earth Being Invaded!!!!!

The 3D stereoscopic view had one limitation: it could only display surface-level perspectives and could not penetrate too deeply underground.

Its underground range was only about one-tenth of its horizontal range.

In other words, he could see only around a thousand meters beneath the surface.

And at roughly a thousand meters underground—there was actually a sealed tripod mecha.

Good heavens. Were aliens invading Earth again… again?

After carefully observing the tripod mecha, Luke felt an increasing sense of familiarity.

"Aren't these the Martians from the Tom Cruise version of War of the Worlds?"

Luke remembered that in the original work, these Martians were soft-bodied creatures with tentacle-like limbs, similar to mollusks. As the environment on Mars grew increasingly harsh, their species faced the threat of extinction.

As a result, they formulated an invasion plan targeting Earth, secretly deploying their tripod mecha to the planet many years in advance and waiting for the right moment to begin their assault.

However, in the movie, these aliens were not Martians, but invaders from a distant star system.

They cultivated multiple planets, including Earth, and periodically descended upon them to harvest life, using human blood as a resource to breed their species.

Yet, judging from the anomaly notification, these invaders were indeed Martians.

They used a form of high-energy transmission technology, disguised as lightning, to transfer themselves into the tripod mecha and officially ignite the War of the Worlds.

These tripod mecha were equipped with high-temperature heat rays and powerful force-field shields, capable of isolating them from human weaponry and effortlessly annihilating buildings and living beings.

In the movie, they overwhelmed the military forces of multiple nations at terrifying speed, slaughtering tens of millions, even hundreds of millions of people.

Humanity was utterly powerless to resist.

However, these aliens ultimately died off on a massive scale because, after inhaling human blood, they were unable to immunize themselves against the various technologies and bacterial viruses contained within it.

Humanity eventually won the war.

Luke quickly recalled the relevant details.

"Tch. Now any Tom, Dick, or Harry dares to invade Earth. They're really asking for death."

Luke glanced at it and lost interest.

These low-intelligence, trash-tier aliens couldn't even rank among the many civilizations that attempted to invade Earth. At best, they could only be considered cannon fodder before a true large-scale invasion.

If they couldn't even conquer an ordinary Earth,

then in a mixed universe that had fused countless worlds, including Marvel, their chances were even slimmer.

Thor didn't notice anything unusual. After casually smashing a flying shark that seemed to be aiming for a buffet, he said nonchalantly,

"I admit Midgard is a little more dangerous than I imagined, but only a little, you know."

"Overall, Midgard is still quite peaceful."

"After all, with us Asgardians around, those riffraff couldn't possibly harm Midgard."

Luke raised an eyebrow when he heard that. "Are you sure?"

Thor replied without hesitation, "Of course. Heimdall is still watching."

Thor waved toward the sky, as if greeting Heimdall, the guardian of the Bifrost.

Buzz—!!

Across the entire world, all networks were breached almost simultaneously.

Shockwave's figure appeared at the same time on televisions, computers, and large public screens everywhere.

"Luke, we have arrived!"

"I am Shockwave, supreme commander of the Decepticons, from the great Cybertron."

"Earthlings, you have thirty minutes to hand over Luke and the Cybertronian relic, the AllSpark."

"Otherwise, our allied legions will descend upon Earth and annihilate all of humanity!"

"The countdown begins now!"

Shockwave's image shifted into a thirty-minute countdown timer.

Before anyone could react,

the ground in multiple regions across the globe began to tremble simultaneously.

Immediately afterward, gigantic mecha resembling three-legged octopuses, each standing nearly twenty meters tall, burst out of the ground one after another.

Several active tentacles also dangled from their abdomens.

The tripod mecha stood silently in the streets, waiting for the final countdown to begin.

"The person they just mentioned… that's you, right?"

Thor scratched his head, looking somewhat bewildered at the tripod mecha about two hundred meters away.

"That's right, but I have a question for you. Didn't you say Asgard was protecting Earth? When did they arrive? Didn't Heimdall see them?" Luke pointed at the mecha and asked calmly.

"Uh… well…"

Thor's eyes darted around. Then he seemed to hear something and steadied himself, saying, "That's easy to explain. These damned Martians must have been planning to invade Earth before Heimdall took his post."

"My father ascended the throne more than four thousand years ago and unified the Nine Realms over two thousand years ago. Heimdall became the guardian god around that time."

"Since taking the post, Heimdall has been diligent and hasn't closed his eyes for a single moment."

"So it's reasonable to assume they've been lurking on Earth for at least two thousand years. Perhaps it was the deterrence of us Asgardians that prevented them from launching the invasion."

"Yes, that's exactly it!"

The more Thor spoke, the more animated he became, even convincing himself.

Luke suddenly interjected, "Don't Heimdall's eyes get dry?"

Thor paused, staring silently at Luke.

I'm praising Heimdall's dedication, and you're worried about whether his eyes get dry?

But thinking about it carefully… why don't Heimdall's eyes get dry?

Thor tried a no-blinking challenge himself and finally reached a conclusion.

"That's a very good question. I'll ask him later."

"Ahem, let's get back to business."

Thor's expression turned serious.

"There's something you probably don't know. The Bifrost Bridge, which we use to transport armies, has been destroyed. At present, Asgard no longer has the ability to support the Nine Realms or launch large-scale military interventions."

"Therefore, from today until the Bifrost Bridge is repaired, Earth may face countless invasions."

"Now… you'll only be able to rely on yourselves."

Luke shrugged indifferently. "No big deal. It makes no difference."

"By the way, who destroyed the Bifrost Bridge?"

Thor's mouth twitched, and he silently turned his head away.

"You?"

Thor raised his hammer and began spinning it rapidly. "I'll deal with that big guy first. We'll talk later if anything comes up. Bye!"

Boom!!

Thor shot forward like a cannonball.

He slammed heavily into an invisible air wall about thirty meters away from the tripod mecha.

The tripod mecha instantly turned its head, its elongated mouth spewing out a searing white beam. Heat reaching hundreds of thousands of degrees blasted into Thor, sending him flying thousands of meters and kicking up thick clouds of smoke.

That attack would have instantly disintegrated an ordinary person, but Thor, the God of Thunder empowered by Mjolnir, had once endured neutron-star-level energy in his prime. Naturally, he had no fear of this level of assault.

He brushed himself off, completely unharmed.

"Is that all you've got?"

Thor laughed mockingly, raised his hammer, and charged forward once more, simultaneously summoning several bolts of lightning to strike the tripod mecha viciously.

Concentrating all his power,

Thor finally managed to break through the tripod mecha's force field shield, instantly shattering the octopus-like head and the alien inside into dust.

The tripod mecha crashed to the ground with a deafening boom.

A few seconds later,

Thor flew back to Luke's side.

He was slightly out of breath.

"Buddy, you guys are in serious trouble this time. The destructive power of this thing isn't much weaker than the Destroyer armor."

"Although the mecha itself is relatively fragile, their force field shields are extremely troublesome. Maybe only by detonating nuclear weapons around their shields would there be a chance to break through."
