Chapter 12 - Venti: The Freedom of Flight (2/2)

[Navia: I can't make sense of how this video is developing.]

[Ningguang: I can't understand it either. Everyone seems strange. To analyze this, we would need more information.]

[Klee: Being there must be a terrifying thing.]

[Keqing: Watching this video is making me feel somewhat oppressed.]

Upon learning that Navia was willing to stay with everyone, the people in the courtroom smiled.

Their smiles looked eerie, almost frightening.

Sylph's pupils trembled: "I remember now... I understand... this trial is..."

Myles shook his head repeatedly: "No wait... it shouldn't be like this..."

Navia looked puzzled.

Rielvian: "Myles, what are you saying? Our decision is very clear and unanimous. Court! Judge her—declare her guilty!"

Desley: "Navia, stay. You are one of us."

Sylph quickly intervened: "Mistress, do not plead guilty! This trial is designed to trap you here forever."

Myles stepped forward, standing before Navia:

"I will exercise my right to defend her. Mr. Rielvian, Navia has a kind heart, but she also possesses fully independent thought."

[Neuvillette: Incredible… Mr. Myles and Mr. Sylph have broken free from the hive mind! Now I understand what is happening.]

[Furina: What is it? Tell me, tell me! (eyes wide)]

[The Knave (sneering): What, our Hydro Archon cannot see it?]

[Furina: Of course I can see it. I am an Archon of Hydro, nothing escapes me. I just wanted to see whether Neuvillette figured it out too.]

[Xiao: Such a dramatic deity.]

[Neuvillette: The answer is simple. Fontaine natives dissolved by the Primordial Sea's waters became pure Hydro spirits. The consciousness of these spirits merge with the collective hive mind. Leaving Navia alive was their shared decision. At first, Mr. Myles and Mr. Sylph were among those who brought Navia to the courtroom.]

[Neuvillette: But now, they have both broken free from the collective consciousness.]

[Arataki Itto: Breaking free from the hive mind… and saving their Mistress? These two are practically superhuman. So cool!]

[Klee: I'm so moved!]

In the video, Myles and Sylph began to defend Navia.

Sylph: "Miss Navia was born free and independent, never bound by anything. Not even the death of Master Callas could stop her forward progress."

Myles: "What she has done does not mean she considers herself part of a group. She merely, as an individual, extends gentle help to others. Please understand the difference."

Rielvian: "Is that so? An individual? But don't forget, we are all Fontaine natives. This is the land of justice, the land of water."

"Even if Miss Navia helps us as an individual, it does not prevent her soul from merging with everyone. Water accepts everything, it integrates everything."

"In the land of water, everything is measured. Ultimately, all will merge into one. When a collective opinion emerges, that opinion is justice!"

"Now, on behalf of everyone, our decision is unanimous. Navia should stay. Navia will become one with us."

[Klee: These people are awful.]

[Ningguang: The collective opinion is justice. I cannot agree. I believe the happiness of the individual is equally important.]

[Jean: Heavens… if the collective opinion is justice, what about freedom? I can't imagine.]

[Venti: Every individual should be like a bird, free to choose their own path of flight.]

[Zhongli: Contracts should not be forced. Only a contract made under free will is valid.]
