Chapter 35 - Mei: What the F*ck Is This?

The municipal administrative unit of the Far East (Japan) is below the prefectural level, exactly the opposite of Shenzhou (China).

However, as an emerging international metropolis, Nagazora City covers an area three times that of a regular county-level unit.

Combined with the traffic jam during the morning rush hour, the taxi still took a full hour to arrive at Chiba Academy, where Raiden Mei was.

After paying and getting off the car, Fuli took out his phone and handed it to Kiana. "You still remember Mei's number, right?"

"Of course!" The girl patted her chest and took it. "Speaking of which, my phone was broken in the previous battle."

"Reimbursed, reimbursed. We'll buy one on the way later."

Fuli glanced at the relatively strict campus security, pulled Kiana around to the back of the teaching building.

A few Void Shunpo brought them to the rooftop. He let go of her hand. "Call Mei and tell her we are waiting for her on the rooftop."

"Okay, okay, okay." Swiping her onion-like finger to unlock the screen, Kiana looked over with squinted eyes. "Changed the wallpaper, huh?"

Fuli was rarely embarrassed. His previous screensaver and wallpaper were all photos of Kiana.

"Hurry up!" He put on a stern face.

"Hehe."

The girl glanced at him triumphantly, lowered her head, and tapped on the integrated contacts icon.

There were very few people in the contacts, totaling three including Kiana and his little aunt, fully exposing someone's interpersonal relationships where loved ones grieved and enemies rejoiced.

"You should at least save the numbers of the teacher and the landlord." Kiana felt a little sorry for him.

Fuli, leaning against the rooftop wall enjoying the breeze, waved his hand. "I saved them before."

Deleted them after rebirth.

"Alright then."

Seeing that he didn't want to talk about it, Kiana turned the page and started entering Raiden Mei's number on the virtual keyboard.

After a while, she hung up the phone and threw it back.

"Mei said she'll be here in a bit."

"Oh."

Fuli took the phone and put it back in his pocket. After thinking about it, he reached out towards Kiana's skirt again.

Of course, the girl wouldn't let him succeed. She jumped back far away and said warily, "What are you doing?"

"Getting something," Fuli replied as a matter of course.

The Four-Dimensional Skirt only worked when Kiana wore it, so naturally, luggage and such would be put there.

For convenience when taking the car earlier, Fuli had casually stuffed Little March (One of his sword nickname, i forgot which one) inside.

Now he naturally had to take it back first.

"Oh."

Seeing it was like this, Kiana reluctantly leaned over.

She lifted her skirt and said with a disgusted face, "Then hurry up."

...

Raiden Mei walked alone in the corridor leading to the rooftop. She had a wooden sword tied to her back, the hilt positioned very far forward, obviously ready to be drawn at any time.

Ever since November 16th last year, when her father Raiden Ryoma was arrested by the police on charges of defrauding 3.4 billion US dollars under the pretext of financing the development of ultra-high frequency electromagnetic field confinement, she had been dressed like this.

ME Corp, short for Massive Electric, a world-famous multinational electronics manufacturer, was also the property of the Raiden family.

Of course, only in the past.

Now that the original president Raiden Ryoma was in prison, ME Corp had been taken over by a CEO re-recommended by the shareholders—a foreigner calling herself Cocolia.

Raiden Mei didn't know the specifics, but ME Corp had nothing to do with her anymore.

What brought her trouble was the present.

Before the collapse of her status as the eldest miss of ME Corp, the attitude of countless people was "If I could marry Raiden Mei, I would be willing even if I had to drive luxury cars and live in mansions!"

However, after her status collapsed, the classmates who used to admire and fawn over her changed their faces instantly. Various ridicules and dirty rumors emerged endlessly, as if anyone who didn't step on Raiden Mei would violate some rule in a horror story.

Some even intended to get physical with her. Fortunately, Mei was not an ordinary person. With one person and one sword, she easily beat this group and the delinquents they gathered from outside the school to a pulp, but also lost her last bit of savings because of this.

Fortunately, after this incident, the "classmates" also understood that Mei, who was proficient in Hokushin Ittō-ryū, was not to be trifled with.

Apart from treating her as air and isolating/ignoring her, they didn't do anything excessive openly anymore.

Mei wanted to say it was better this way and she was happy to be left alone, but she couldn't deceive herself.

She was so lonely. She wasn't used to eating alone.

She didn't understand what she did wrong, nor did she believe that her father, who strictly abided by principles, would be a fraudster.

However, the evidence provided by the police was there. The families of the victims broke into the school time and again, screaming and cursing in front of her, accusing Raiden Ryoma of bankrupting their families and ruining their lives.

They were all forcing Raiden Mei to accept this reality, and Mei gradually accepted it.

If it were any other girl facing this situation, she would probably have given up on herself and fallen into depravity.

A girl like Mei could actually live very well anywhere as long as she was willing to yield.

Because Mei was very, very beautiful.

Deep purple hair like satin draped over her shoulders, and her skin was graceful and white like first snow.

Her appearance was elegant and flawless, her lotus legs plump and slender. Her whole body exuded a holy temperament like an orchid in an empty valley, manifesting a cold and inviolable beauty, like a creation of nature.

Beautiful girls have privileges in this world.

When this beautiful girl can smash an armored vehicle with a single sword strike, this privilege expands to an unimaginable degree.

Mei could totally leave Chiba Academy, leave this sad place of Nagazora City, start anew in another city, and begin her brand new life.

But she didn't, because in these short yet long three months, it wasn't like there was nothing to illuminate her.

It should be said... one and a half persons?

Looking at the specks of light leaking from the crack of the door leading to the rooftop, the girl's features gradually softened.

The feelings of boys and girls in high school are like beating a cowhide drum. One holds the drumstick to vent emotions, while the other hides inside the drum, covering their ears and secretly rejoicing.

Fuli and Kiana, this pair of Crouching Dragon and Phoenix Chick (geniuses/idiots), were completely different.

These two didn't hide their feelings for another person at all, not worrying a bit if the person hiding in the drum would be beaten to death by their excessive force.

It's just that Fuli was towards Kiana, and Kiana was towards Mei.

Fuli was a childhood obsession. The girl named Kiana was his only White Moonlight (first love/ideal).

Kiana, well, it was said that seeing Mei's MEI-face made her Kaslana genes restless.

Fuli complained that she was just lusting after beauty.

Mei's sexual orientation was still normal. She liked boys and had fantasized about having a sweet romance with a boy she liked.

For now, she didn't have thoughts beyond friendship for Kiana.

She felt Kiana was the same. This girl just hadn't met a boy her age who caught her eye (the past Fuli could barely count as one) and could also suppress her in combat in her previous life (the past Fuli obviously didn't meet the standard).

Once met, she would soon return to normal.

However, in any case, the light named Kiana shone into her heart, along with a ray from Fuli who always revolved around her.

Amazing, right?

Mei herself found it amazing.

It was they who made the girl understand why her father used to pat her head and say with a complicated face that the deeper one got into the world, the more one wanted a true friend.

Thus, even though she didn't know what the boy and girl wanted her for, Mei still made a prompt decision to skip class and ran towards the rooftop at full speed.

Friends are fate, cherish forever, treasures that must be cherished with heart.

Thinking this, Mei held the door handle and used some strength to twist open the locked fire door.

"Kiana? Fuli? You guys...?"

She took a step forward, reservedly calling her friends' names.

Fuli, squatting on the ground, constantly rummaging for something in the four-dimensional space (under the skirt);

Kiana, looking impatient but with absolutely no intention of stopping him.

This beautiful scenery,

Just like that, unreservedly reflected in the girl's eyes that held hidden hope.

The tree-lined path you thought of, is actually already bustling with traffic. —Shakespeare

Seeing this scene, Mei was instantly struck by lightning and petrified.

She raised her head bit by bit, staring like a robot at Fuli and Kiana who were also looking over, and said in an unbelievable and ethereal tone:

"What the f**k is this?"

What the f**k is this?
