"You can't go out now!" yelled Dracula, blocking the door with his body.
"Are you trying to delay?" said the boy standing opposite of him "Remember that I still have this girl, and she seems very important to you."
Mavis didn't say anything, still in despair from causing trouble for her father.
"If you go out now she will burn anyway!" shouted the older vampire.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Vampires burn in the sunlight!" Drac added with exasparation, opening a small crack in the door and pointing at the slowly raising sun "Don't humans have legends about it too?"
"Maybe" he responded, clearly avoiding the question "But it doesn't matter anyway."
Suddenly shadows sprang all around Drac, tightly covering him. Just as he was about to break free, he noticed that instead of binding him they tightly covered his whole body below the neck.
"Try going out now" said the boy, pointing his free hand outside.
Dracula slowly move his tightly covered hand into the sunlight. Not noticing the burning sensation, he looked at the other person in shock.
"So we can go now" the darkness covered vampire's head, also wrapping the once again restless bat held in his hand, as he slowly lifted off the ground "Lead the way."
Drac flew up slowly, crossed the river and continue above the forest.
The boy glanced at him with annoyance.
"Can't you go faster?"
"Not in this form" the vampire explained "I used to travel long distances as a bat."
"Then why don't you transform?" was what he heard in response, and as he looked back he saw the boy looking at him with confusion.
He glanced at the opponent's hand firmly holding a little furball, and then back onto his face.
Seeing that the silver-haired boy did not understand his meaning he sighed, trying to get out of this trip.
"How about I point you in the direction, and you leave my daughter with me."
What responded to him was a compassionate look from the black eyes with a silver ring in the middle.
"Did I hit you too hard on the head? Why should I trust you in any way?" said the owner of the eyes, and as if he suddenly thought of something he flew up closer and grabbed Dracula by the wrist.
"What are you doing?!" shouted the Vampire preparing to free himself from the boy's grasp.
"Shut up and point the way" the annoyance in the voice was evident "I doubt you are much faster as a bat. While in close combat I might not be that fast, but on a longer distance nothing can beat me."
Drac froze, and slowly pointed in a certain direction looking at him with a hint of disbelief.
--------- Dracula's Pov ---------
As the surroundings stopped spinning I realised we were already in front of the grand castle of cousin Vlad.
That was horrible.
The speed almost made me feel like the blood that I do not have has all flown into my head.
I did not expect the arrogant words of the boy to have any truth to them. Why didn't he use this speed when we fought? Did he think it would be too boring, or he simply could not control the direction?
Breaking away from my thoughts I looked up, and saw the monster that intruded our peaceful lives sitting in a shade of tree, holding my already conscious daughter.
Two games, one filled with disdain, and one with worry looked at me, clearly already waiting for quite some time.
"Get up and open the door" said the boy sounding bored.
"Can't you just smash it open, as you did earlier?" I responded, trying to sound less annoyed than I actually was, as I remembered he still held my daughter hostage.
"Obviously not. I'm going to be living here" he responded looking at me like an idiot. That bastard.
I clenched my fist, wishing I could just punch him in that stupid face of his.
While breathing in deeply trying to calm down, I looked up at the huge castle of cousin Vlad.
Although I did not remember, or actually even know him too well, but the circumstances of his death still saddened me deeply. Poor guy, betrayed by his own henchmen.
No, actually it was even worse than betrayal. What killed him was their sheer stupidity. They happily opened the curtains to let the sun shine on a vampire!!!
Or at least that's what the hearsay said, I did not communicate with him for decades, so my information might be really inaccurate.
On top of that I also heard from my father, that it was on his 357th birthday. He died so young, and on his own birthday.
Anyway, somehow the only living (in a sense), or at least sane or bothered enough to sign the deed relative was me. And thus the castle ended up in my hands.
Shaking off my retrospection, before it made me reminisce some others relatives who left their undeath long ago, I decided to speed things up and get rid of the scourge, before he finds some more things to ask us for.
I flew over the outer wall surrounded by the moat, while taking out a big key to the castle door that barely fit into my pocket.
Opening the door, the first thing I noticed was incredible amounts of dust.
I glanced behind me at the boy with embarrassment.
Wait, why should I be embarrassed?Didn't he threaten me with my daughter?
As I stepped through the door the darkness surrounding me melted down, flowing back into my shadow. I entered a long corridor, and prepared to negotiate.
I just hope he won't ask for much more. Although as long as Mavis is safe I can do anything.
"So, would you hand over my daughter?" I said nonchalantly, trying hard to sound as casual as possible, so that he wouldn't see her importance to me.
It's probably too late anyway. I reminded myself, remembering the desperate outburst back in my castle.
He raised his hand and looked at me, seemingly speechless. Was he preparing to get rid of me anyway? I thought as I backed off slightly.
"Give me the key." he looked at me with contempt "I wouldn't break a deal, at least not if I had nothing to gain from doing so" he explained seeing my apprehension.
"I'm not a bad person after all" he added, which made me want to scoff. Good people don't kidnap little girls. She is only 180 years old.
I threw the key over to him, which led to the boy releasing the tiny furry ball from his grasp.
Mavis quickly flew towards me, transforming back into vampire form. She hugged me tightly, trembling with fear.
"Leave my house" a cold voice broke the beauty of the moment.
I glared at him with anger, before responding. "If you wanted us to burn, you could have done it sooner" I pointed at the light seeping through a crack in the door, my voice full of now undisguised sarcasm.
The boy looked at me, his gaze full of annoyance. Despite what he has shown, the darkness quickly covered us from head to toe.
"It will last until nightfall" he said, while pointing at the door "Now leave."
I held Mavis and quickly flew out into the forest, where I stopped to console her.
"D-d-dad, h-humans are so scary" she stuttered, tightly hugging me "I n-never want to m-meet another one again."
Maybe this whole situation wasn't so bad after all... I thought to myself, smiling slightly while reciprocating the hug.
--------- ??? Pov ---------
Finally kicking the intruders out of my castle I headed inside, while looking through the rewards given by the system.
---
'Beginner's quest' completed.
Rewards:
-'Starter pack' (level 13)
-1x 'World Gate'.
---
I clicked on the starter pack, hoping that something interesting would come out.
---
°°°Opening 'Starter pack' (level 13)°°°
-1* 'Ability upgrade'
-1* 'Random ability evolution'
-1* 'Weakness removal'
-1* 'Headquarters renovation, ability infusion and evolution'
-3* 'Servant assimilation and evolution'
-1* '"First travel" gift bundle' (available only after using the world gate for the first time)
---
Satisfied, I decided to check my original ability in the character sheet of the system.
---
Name: N/A
Race: Chemical X infused concept *darkness variant* (A new race born through the genius of a certain scientist)
Abilities:
- Darkness control (level 1)
An incredibly powerful ability, with even higher potential, allowing control of shadows and everything that meets the requirements of 'not fully in the light'. It's a mutation of innate ability obtained naturally by a certain race.
- Utonian body(level X)
Includes: super strength, super speed, near invulnerability, ability to fly, X-ray vision and laser eyes. A birth talent of a certain race, which many would be envious for, even if it can be blocked through Antidote X.
- Natural fighting mastery (level MAX)
An ability that should be a skill to others, somehow became a talent, allowing for instant mastery of any fighting skill, and possibility of creating your own.
Skills: N/A
Description: A very powerful individual with incredible potential, who did not have to work for it at all. If Odin saw this, he would cry his one eye out.
---
Pleased with the description, I skimmed through the rest, when suddenly something horrifying caught my eye.
...can be blocked with Antidote X. I never suspected I would have a weakness. Although I doubt that it would appear in other worlds, but better safe then sorry. I quickly clicked on the 'Weakness removal' obtained from the gift pack, choosing one of the two options that appeared without hesitation, as the other one was fly-paper. How can something like that even be my weakness.
The 'Weakness removal' disappeared without a trace. Glancing back at my personal information I noted with joy that the information about weakness to Antitode X disappeared.
While choosing what to use next, I started to look around the castle.
Except for thick layers of dust, everything else was surprisingly luxurious. It was shocking that the guy who fought me chose to live at his shabby place instead of here.
Going down the stairs, leading into what was presumably a dungeon, I decided that the next thing to use would be 'Random ability evolution'.
I clicked on it, which quickly proved to be mistake, as my consciousness slowly blurred.
I stumbled down the stairs, fighting the sleepiness as I fell through the floor.
The last thing that I heard was a questioning "Bello?"

Hello everyone, how was your day?
Hopefully you liked this chapter, even though I am immensely dissatisfied with my writing skills, even after I corrected this multiple times.
I have so many good ideas for plot. For example Johnny from Hotel Transylvania, he is going to be a version of him like in the song "Human after all" by MythicTune (an epic idea, you can listen to it if you want).
I don't know if I can pull it off though, and even whether I can write the overall plot well enough.
Once again, let me know if you have any ideas.
Cya next chapter, and stay cool (like a vampire).
