I don't know what to say at the beginning of the chapter...
I guess I don't really have to write those notes, do I?

--- ??? Pov ---
Just after I woke up I noticed chains holding a short yellow capsule-shaped being in the corner cell of the dark dungeon I found myself in. This must be what killed the previous owner of this castle. I thought as I examined the creature.
Still not fully conscious, I sat on the cold stone floor for a while, looking in confusion at the babbling yellow blob in front of me.
"Rex me da ba bostau" it shouted making me even more confused.
Deciding against dealing with the problem for now I turned my gaze towards the newly evolved ability in my character sheet.
---
Darkness control (level 1) -> Darkness Incarnation (level 1)
A being born of pure darkness, now evolved from just being able to control it, into being the darkness itself. Grants the ability to turn into all forms of darkness, while being unaffected by physical obstacles, as well as increased control over shadows.
---
I smiled happily, while looking through other updates.
---
Race: Darkness amplified by Chemical X
---
Seeing the change in my race I felt a bit conflicted. Although I escaped from the lab and the people in it, but the connection to the others was something I was born, or rather created with.
It wasn't that important to me, but it always felt like I would have my own place in the world.
Well, I will have one soon anyway. I thought as I looked at the 'Headquarters renovation, ability infusion and evolution' obtained from the gift pack.
The name sounded confusing, but it probably wouldn't disappoint, just as the other 'evolution' opportunity did not.
"Batooay to kaylay a banana?" a question in a weird language broke my train of though, causing me to look at the yellow problem in front of me. It looked back at me, as we sat in silence for a while.
Or rather I sit and the yellow blob is hanging. I smiled to myself.
Suddenly a thought occured to me. I could use the servant evolution thingy that came from the gift pack. Surely it would not be wasted, as this yellow guy can't be useless since he managed to survive hanging in chains without any food. It would also probably stop it from betrayal, as he heard happened with the previous owner of the castle.
Using the surrounding darkness to cut of the chains, I marveled at how much easier it was to control it. If before it felt natural, now it felt even easier to use than a limb. With just a slight thought all shadows moved as I pleased, surrendering to me.
The little yellow guy fell down with a thud, immediately scrambling to his feet. He looked up at the smooth cut on the chains, then suddenly started bowing.
I looked at the scene with confusion. It seemed to want to follow me after such a small demonstration, which was definitely very concerning as that would mean it would follow just about anybody that easily.
Well, I hope that the system will solve this. And even if it doesn't it's not like anything can threaten me.
The growth rate I could achieve with the system meant that even beings with similar strength could be surpassed quickly.
Especially since I was already nearly invulnerable just after being born. I smiled, slightly more thankful to the person that created me.
Discarding the distracting thoughts, I clicked on the 'Servant assimilation and evolution', and as a cross hair appeared I pointed it at the yellow capsule shaped being.
As the 3 on the system panel slowly faded into a 2, the yellow blob started changing.
First the shadow started flowing over the yellow skin, fully covering it in swirling dark patterns. After that the height of the quickly evolving being increased and the goggles on its face broke apart and fell to the floor. The eyes slowly turned red, and just when I thought the transformation subsided a third eye suddenly sprouted above the other two.
I smirked looking at the shadows swirling around my newly evolved servant, while feeling the newly found connection and control I had over him. It seems I bet right.
-------------
A silver haired boy sat on a grand stone throne placed in a huge luxuriously decorated chamber, while looking through a newly unlocked 'Servants' panel.
He looked at the capabilities of his newly acquired lackey with a hint of incredulity.
---
Name: Abaddon (Originally named Max, changed after evolution as the members of its race are born with their names)
Race: Dark Minion (A unique species of Minions, known for being essentially immortal, now through evolution and connection to power of a certain being got rid of most of its original shortcomings)
Abilities:
-Darkness control (level 1)
An ability, with high potential, allowing control of shadows and everything that meets the requirements of 'not fully in the light'. It's a mutation of innate ability obtained naturally bya certain race, somehow obtained through connection to a powerful being of that species. Thanks to that connection it also allows to shortly melt into the shadows controlled by said being.
-Dark Minion body (level X)
An ability that makes its owner theoretically invulnerable, through combination of biological immortality and reality bending. Initially possesing a weird shortcoming of only working when the situation is funny, however after evolution the defect was mostly weakened. Additionally now it grants strength and speed much higher than the ones posessed by members of the original race.
-Frequent superintelligence (level 7)
Another weird trait, evolved from initial 'Occasional superinteligence'. Originally capable of granting the owner rare uncontrollable bursts of inspiration, now after getting rid of that flaw it can be called upon for most of the time. Increasein level can grant increased working time of this ability, while at the same time allowing the choice of when it's activated. (Currently 7 hours of constant working time, with a 35% chance to work when activated, 40% chance to work within half an hour, 15% chance in less than hour and 10% chance to work past an hour)
Skills:
-Machinery assembly (Level 9+6 (abilitybonus))
-Chemistry knowledge (Level 7+4)
-Computer knowledge (Level 3+2)
-Trap setting (Level 1)
-Minionese (Level MAX)
Ability to speak language of Minions, which all of them master perfectly. Because of their nomadic history, it's a mix of various different languages.
-Polyglot (Derived ability)
Through burst of intelligence during evolution, this ability was born from the original Minionese, allowing this Dark Minion to speak multitude of languages (i.a. English, Spanish, French, Italian, Hindi, Korean, Filipino, and ancient Egyptian)
Description: A bloodthirsty monster born through evolution and connection to a certain being. Originally a member of a chaotic race following powerful creatures, now it follows its new master with staggering faith. The red eyes which signify cruelty and savageness might contain potential for obtaining new abilities through savage combat, or creating means for it. (Because of the connection to it's master it hates boredom with passion, while at the same time cherishing all opportunities for having fun)
---
"Incredibly useful" the boy smiled, assessing the newly evolved being sitting on the chair placed at the bottom of the stairs leading to the throne. While his strength would not be a great improvement to combat power, but the versatility of abilities will certainly be a huge help in the future. Especially since he wouldn't have to worry about the Minion dying during a bigger fight.
"Thank you for the compliment master" said Abaddon with happiness in his voice, while bowing slightly "I will do my best to be useful to you."
The darkness incarnation sitting on the throne merely nodded in acknowledgment, while choosing the next course of action.
Some time ago, after the Minions evolution ended, he easily brought both of them out of the basement traveling through the ceiling with Abaddon melted into his shadow, and instead of continuing to tour the castle he used the 'Ability upgrade' on his newly obtained 'Darkness Incarnation'.
While it didn't cause effects as incredible as the previous evolution, but the area in which he had perfect control over darkness, previously reaching barely beyond the moat of the enormous castle, now more than doubled, spreading far into the forest illuminated by the evening light.
Looking at the considerably more empty system bacpack, his gaze was attracted by none other than the 'World Gate'.
---
«World Gate»
-Allows placement of a permanent portal to a random world at the headquarters,
-Only possible after the Headquarters has evolved once or more,
-Allows crossing through only to the owner, and people with his personal permission.
---
"This sounds really fun" joyful smile spread across the boys face, as he turned sideways on the throne, putting his legs over the armrest.
Hearing something about fun, Abaddon who visibly inherited some traits from its ruler perked up.
"What is it my liege?" he asked with excitement.
"I have a thing that allows travel to a different world" said his master "And that sounds really exciting" he smiled while looking at another system panel.
---
«Headquarters renovation, ability infusion and evolution»
-Allows a chosen Headquarters to be renovated, while at the same time connecting it to owner's ability, making it a perfectly monitored and well protected fortress,
-Included is evolution, which allows the base to be upgraded by a level (increase in size, height and strength of the structure),
-Allows the owner to add custom crest and a name to mark the castle.
---
After choosing to use, an input window appeared in front of him.
'Let's name it Abyss' he smiled to himself while typing 'Because once you enter it once, it will always remain in you.'
Choosing a crest to be a pure black escutcheon with silver frame, he activated the thing.
A countdown appeared, marking time left until the end. The throne underneath him slowly dissolved into a dark bubbling unsettled mass, and the shadow continued spreading to the floor and further to the walls.
The boy grimaced looking at the 16:59:55 visible on the timer. Then he looked at the expectant Abaddon with a discouraged expression "It seems that we have to wait for a while..."
And so the boredom ensued.
-------------
Howdy people.
I hope this chapter wasn't too bad.
I wanted to make more plot happen, however the evolution called for abilities showcasing.
It took quite long to get this out, because I was really uncertain about the quality and whether I included everything.
Hopefully I will manage to write more plot in the next chapter.
Like and suvscrive.
