Chapter 9 - IM SORRY

The morning light slowly slipped through the curtains, warm and soft, falling across the room like a gentle reminder that a new day had begun even though Erven himself wasn't ready to face it.

He shifted slightly under the blanket, and his body immediately protested. A sharp throb of pain shot through his muscles, causing a small moan to escape before he could hold it in.

Erven: "Ah, my whole body hurts."

Erven whispered to himself as he pressed his hands to his still aching waist.

For a few moments, he just lay still, trying to catch his breath. Memories of last night surfaced in fragments of Lucas' rough voice, the warmth of his touch, how everything had happened too quickly. Erven's cheeks felt hot, filled with shame mixed with confusion.

I slowly woke up, Something felt wrong, the sticky water on the fabric between his thighs, making him instantly stiff.

Erven: "What…?"

his breath hitched, his entire face turning red.

I didn't want to think about it, didn't want to remember the intimacy that had been so intense last night. But the memory kept coming, clear behind my eyelids, making my chest tighten in a mixture of shame and anxiety.

Trying to calm myself, I forced my feet to slowly walk to the bathroom. Each step was a new reminder of what had happened last night.

When I turned on the bathroom light and lifted my face to the mirror he stopped.

His reflection stared back, but what made his breath catch were the marks on his skin. Fine bruises along his collarbone. A few red bites running down his neck and nipple area... The residue of Lucas's anger, his dominance, and the moment he lost control.

Erven's face paled... then turned red.

Erven: "Oh my God..."

I slowly raised my hand to touch one of the marks near his shoulder. His skin trembled subtly under the touch.

Erven was frozen for a few moments, just staring at the evidence of something I didn't know how to process. Dozens of thoughts raced through his head, some sensible, some absurd.

One in particular made him freeze.

Erven: "W-wait... Lucas put his seed inside me, you mean... can I get pregnant?"

he whispered before sighing and tapping his own head.

Erven: "Ugh, Erven, don't be silly... You're just a weak omega. How could you get pregnant..."

He shook his head, embarrassed by his own imagination.

 Erven: "No. Impossible. Don't dream."

He splashed water on his face, trying to erase the thought, then stepped into the shower. The hot water eased his tense muscles, easing the lingering aches and pains from the long night. He took a deep breath as the steam filled the room, trying to forget everything for a moment.

After he finished showering and getting dressed, his mind felt a little more organized. But the emptiness of the condo hit him as soon as he went downstairs.

The dining room that usually felt 'full' because of Lucas's presence, today felt empty and quiet. Erven's eyes swept around, looking for the figure he expected to fear, look forward to but Lucas was not there.

His steps were slow.

The silence felt heavier today.

Erven walked into the kitchen, where the maid, Aunty Lili, was preparing breakfast.

Erven: "Um… Aunty Lili?"

The woman turned with her usual gentle smile.

Aunty Lili: "Yes, Mr. Erven?"

Erven twiddled her fingers, nervously.

Erven: "Lucas… where is he? Did he leave early?"

Aunty Lili was silent for a moment before answering.

Aunty Lili: "Mr. Lucas left early this morning. But he asked me to give you a letter."

Erven: "Letter…? For me?"

Aunty Lili: "Yes, wait a minute."

He walked to the drawer, pulled out a neatly folded envelope and handed it to Erven. Erven's heart was beating fast. Lucas never wrote letters. Lucas rarely spoke at length except when he was angry.

Erven: "Thank you, Aunty…"

His fingers trembled slightly as I unsealed it. I took a deep breath before reading.

---

> Erven,

I want to apologize to you,

For what happened last night.

I know I lost control.

I shouldn't have acted that way, and I'm sorry for hurting you.

I can't take back what I did, but I hope one day you can forgive me.

Don't make me angry like that again.

I don't want to lose myself when you're around.

Take care of yourself while I'm gone.

Don't forget to eat.

I'm flying to Spain on important business.

When everything is over, I'll be back soon.

— Lucas

---

My chest feels tight. He read the letter a second time, more slowly, absorbing every word. Lucas's handwriting was sharp, firm, hurried, just like the man himself. But… I never expected that apology.

He touched Lucas's signature with his thumb, his throat felt tight.

Erven: "Lucas… I'm sorry too," he whispered softly. "I didn't mean to talk to you like that."

He remembered their fight, how his words had come out too sharply, piercing Lucas into fear and emotions that I myself didn't understand. Maybe I had triggered Lucas's anger. Maybe Lucas was trying to hold back… until I pushed him too far.

But last night… was too heavy to interpret now.

The dining room felt quiet, too quiet. Without Lucas' heavy footsteps, without his voice dominating the entire house, everything felt light… but empty. I wrapped my arms around his own, as if to ward off the sudden chill that had attacked.

Erven: "Spain, yes" he murmured. "You didn't even have time to say goodbye."

He sighed softly, holding the letter close to his chest.

For the first time since waking up, he realized he wasn't just sick or ashamed.

He felt… lonely.

And he hated how much that feeling affected him.

The house was too quiet. Without Lucas's presence, without the man's aura dominating every space, everything felt big and empty. I hugged myself, his lips uttering words that he himself wasn't sure about.

Erven: "Come back quickly..."

He himself wasn't sure since when Lucas had become someone he had been waiting for.

But he knew that was the reality now.

And admitting it… was scarier than anything.
