Rowan asked Asa to confirm what the relationship of that couple was.
Asa said in surprise:
"That is a Beastman-Genia pair of mates, of course, a mate relationship. The person in his heart is his Omegina, Yanan. Yanan is a very gentle Omegina, just a bit timid; you can slowly get to know him."
"Omegina?" Wasn't this how Owen and the others had been calling him? Now he finally knew the meaning of this word.
He also understood how everything had happened. It was just that he didn't want to face this absurd truth.
For a moment, Rowan had the illusion that the Empire was actually quite good.
Rowan was immersed in shock for a long time before recovering. It turned out Owen had always treated him as an Omegina to take care of. Moreover, Omeginas here seemed as rare and weak as Omegas, needing protection.
Everything was clear now. No wonder Owen treated him very well from the beginning, always yielding to him. When he wanted to leave, he wanted to lock him up. He didn't expect him to have this intention; his value also lay here.
But they had to be disappointed; he was an Alpha, an Alpha, not a so-called Omegina. Rowan touched his unawakened gland.
The Empire was divided into three genders: Alpha, Beta, Omega. Alphas were usually in leadership positions, a choice of innate superiority. Betas were relatively ordinary, but there was no lack of outstanding talents. Omegas were in an indispensable position for maintaining the lineage, objects needing careful protection.
The glands of Alphas and Omegas both had an awakening period. The awakening period for Alphas was around over 20 years old, while Omegas were usually earlier, around 18 years old.
Asa was slightly worried about Rowan's state, deciding to take him back to rest first; learning about the tribe wasn't urgent. He only hoped Rowan could like their tribe and be willing to stay.
Rowan and Asa had just returned to the cave when they saw Leo roasting meat outside. Leo smiled apologetically to Rowan, handing him a piece of roasted meat to ask for forgiveness. After all, he acted out of momentary impatience, forced to do so, only wanting the best for him.
Leo actually had a tall, handsome figure; his smile was very charming, carrying a radiance from the bottom of his heart. Completely different from Owen's naturally cold face, which even when smiling carried the characteristic gloomy aura of cold-blooded species.
Rowan took the roasted meat to eat, not for any other reason, but simply because he was hungry. Since being starved once, he cherished every hard-to-get portion of food immensely.
Seeing Rowan didn't hate him, Leo felt relieved.
"Has Papa told you about the Silver-Winged Snake Clan?" Leo looked straight into Rowan's eyes, his expression serious.
Asa only remembered then, patting his increasingly forgetful head: "I haven't told him; just took him for a walk around the tribe just now."
"Silver-Winged Snake Clan, referring to Owen?" Actually, Rowan was still a bit worried about Owen in his heart, just not showing it on his face.
"It's him. How did he deceive you?" Leo also couldn't understand why Rowan helped Owen against them; could it really be as Rowan said, that he saved him?
"No, he saved me near the Lost Forest," Rowan said indifferently.
"How could an Omegina appear in the Lost Forest!" Leo expressed disbelief.
Rowan didn't want to waste saliva explaining, and he couldn't explain it either: "I, on the contrary, want to know why you guys targeted Owen."
"We targeted him?" Leo looked helpless; the Omegina had really been brainwashed.
Asa hurriedly interjected at this time, recounting all the crimes of the Silver-Winged Snake Clan, fearing Rowan was deceived too deeply.
The more Rowan listened, the more he felt this Silver-Winged Snake Clan had a behavioral style like the Insect Race. Was Owen the Insect Race here?
Only the method of committing crimes was relatively mild, not blatantly snatching Omeginas, nor gathering in swarms to rob Omegas and occupy the Empire's territory like the Insect Race.
But in Rowan's eyes now, there was no difference. He put himself slightly in that situation, feeling the combat factor in his body about to awaken.
No wonder Leo and the others had such a big reaction when confronting Owen.
There was only one thing they didn't know: he was not an Omegina; everything was just a huge misunderstanding.
Rowan also didn't go around proclaiming that he wasn't an Omegina, that he didn't belong here, because no one would believe him.
People only believed in what they perceived, what was accepted by the majority; basically, their thoughts couldn't be changed, only making them feel he had problems.
Anyway, to him, Owen still had the grace of saving his life, and everything he did hadn't harmed him. He even saved him several times; Rowan wasn't an ungrateful person.
Moreover, he wasn't an Omegina; Owen basically posed no threat to him.
He had also finished learning about the Snow Leopard tribe, but it wasn't very attractive to him, and Rowan himself didn't like socializing.
Therefore, Rowan suggested that he still wanted to leave to go back to find Owen.
This was a big deal. Asa thought this Omegina was crazy; he had said the Silver-Winged Snake clansmen were the common enemy of the whole tribe, yet he didn't listen at all.
Still too young, not knowing the severity of things.
Asa couldn't watch helplessly as Rowan fell into the Silver-Winged Snake Clan's trap, so he blocked Rowan, refusing to let him leave no matter what.
Rowan also couldn't lay a hand on an elder, feeling extremely helpless, so he planned to wait until night when everyone was asleep to sneak away.
Seeing Rowan no longer demanding to leave at all costs, Leo was relieved, asking his papa to continue persuading him, then left to attend to other matters.
Asa thought Rowan had compromised, but still uneasy, he advised him for half a day, determined to correct his thinking.
Waiting until Asa finally talked himself tired, Rowan's ears were about to get calluses; he didn't expect a day when he would be so patient. Anyone who dared to nag in his ear for so long, the grass on their grave would be several inches high by now.
Perhaps Rowan had never felt the concerned instructions from an elder, so he didn't know how to respond for a moment.
In the middle of the night, only the chirping of unknown insects remained in Rowan's ears; the late night was silent.
Rowan gently lifted the animal skin, stepping out of the cave. As soon as he stepped out of the cave, his foot sank deep into the snow, freezing stiff.
Unknown when, snow had fallen white all over the sky outside; both heaven and earth were covered by heavy snow, the cold piercing to the bone.
He didn't expect the Snow Season Owen mentioned to arrive so abruptly, catching people off guard.
Rowan hesitated for a long time but still decided to walk, but not far away, a tall figure blocked his way.
Leo draped the warm animal skin coat he brought over Rowan: "Go back, the Snow Season has arrived, you can't go anywhere either."
Rowan looked up at him once, then helplessly turned around; Leo silently watched Rowan return to the cave.
