Izuku settled on his bed, the door closed to keep his privacy. Outside, he heard the sound of two showers running—Aries and Inko getting cleaned up after their successful beach quest. Their voices carried through the walls, cheerful conversation punctuated by occasional laughter. A perfect moment of domestic normalcy.

But Izuku lived in a different reality.

He stared at his palm where the [Gacha Token (Rare)] hovered in his system inventory, pulsing with a soft violet glow.

His status screen showed 1970 Attribute Points. A respectable sum. He could spread those points across his stats, pushing closer to his caps. Or he could upgrade his existing abilities—Firebreath or Mysticism—to their next levels.

『You should consider saving the token,』 Arcan said, her mental voice unusually tentative. 『A Rare Token is valuable. You could hold onto it until you have a better understanding of what skills would complement your build. Upgrade your known assets first. It's the smarter play.』

Izuku snorted, a feral grin spreading across his face. "Smarter? Please."

His fingers curled around the ghostly token. Smart was the tortoises who plodded forward one step at a time.

But he wasn't a tortoise. He was a gambler who recognized when fortune was smiling.

"The beach quest, the token, this exact moment—it's the universe sending me a sign," he murmured. "My luck is in. You don't walk away from the table when you're on a hot streak."

『You're mixing your metaphors and your logic is garbage.』

"My logic," Izuku countered, "is that I've been grinding for two months, playing it safe, staying under the radar. It's time to roll the dice."

Before Arcan could protest further, Izuku mentally selected "Use Item" on the Rare Token.

The world outside his vision went dark.

The air around him changed, charged with an electric potential that made the hairs on his arms stand on end. The normal Gacha pull began with a single blue star shooting upward, but this time, something different happened.

A single, blindingly golden star erupted from beneath him, trailing motes of pure light that hung in the air. The bedroom fell away, replaced by an infinite darkness where only Izuku and the star existed. The sound of running showers and distant laughter disappeared, replaced by a strange, ethereal choir that seemed to emanate from within his own skull.

『What... what is this?』 For the first time since Izuku had known her, Arcan was completely speechless, her mental presence radiating pure, unadulterated shock.

The golden star hung suspended for a breathless moment. Then it detonated.

Reality cracked like glass. A thunderous boom that made no actual sound reverberated through Izuku's bones.

At the epicenter of the golden explosion, a single complex icon formed, pulsing like a malevolent heart. It resembled an eye, stylized and crimson, with three black marks arranged in perfect symmetry around its pupil.

Izuku held his breath as the light coalesced and the text began to scroll into view, each word materializing with impossible weight and significance:

[SHARINGAN (Elite Active Ability)]

Description: A legendary ocular skill, a Bloodline Limit awakened by the System through a fluke of cosmic data. These are the eyes of a predator, granting the user a level of battlefield perception that borders on precognition.

The Sharingan does not just see; it comprehends. It dissects movement, deciphers energy, and memorizes the very essence of a technique. It is a blessing of insight and a curse of perfect memory, forcing the user to forever recall every battle in flawless, bloody detail.

Izuku stumbled backward, physically hitting his wall. A single, hysterical laugh escaped his lips—the sound of a man who had just found the cheat codes to the universe.

"A predictive eye," he whispered, his mind racing through applications. "An ability to copy movements, techniques..."

Images flashed through his thoughts—Bakugo's explosive movements, Detective Hoga's leaps. He wouldn't need to be as strong or as fast. He would simply need to see it coming.

"This," he breathed, "this is how I win."

The golden light faded, reality snapped back into focus, and Izuku found himself standing in his bedroom once more. The system interface now displayed his new acquisition prominently, waiting to be equipped.

He examined his two active ability slots: [FIREBREATH] and [ATTRACTION OF SMALL OBJECTS]. It wasn't even a question which one would go.

"Firebreath is my alibi," he muttered. "It stays. But that glorified remote-fetcher..." He snorted. "It never had any usefulness to begin with. Get it out of my sight."

He mentally dragged the Sharingan icon over the Attraction of Small Objects slot. The moment it locked into place, a new UI element appeared: a small, translucent 48:00:00 cooldown timer over the Sharingan slot.

『Slot management,』 Arcan said, having finally recovered from her shock. 『The System doesn't let you hot-swap your entire build mid-fight. Once an ability is equipped, it's locked for forty-eight hours. Choose your loadout carefully before you leave home base.』

Izuku rolled his eyes. "As if I'd ever swap out the goddamn Sharingan."

With the ability equipped, he immediately opened its level progression tree. The information unfurled before him like a roadmap to godhood:

[LEVEL 1: Eye of Insight - One Tomoe]

Active Effect: Grants hyper-enhanced visual acuity. The user can track high-speed objects with perfect clarity and perceive the flow of Quirk energy within a target's body.

[LEVEL 2: Eye of Imitation - Two Tomoe] (Locked)

Active Effect: Unlocks [Perfect Replication]. The user can perfectly memorize and replicate any non-Quirk-based physical movement they witness.

[LEVEL 3: Eye of Precognition - Three Tomoe] (Locked)

Active Effect: The user's analytical abilities function at a subconscious level, allowing them to predict an opponent's next move before it happens.

[LEVEL 4: Eye of Deception - Mangekyō Pattern] (Locked)

Active Effect: Unlocks the Genjutsu ability [Hypnotic Gaze]. By making direct eye contact, the user can inflict a powerful mental suggestion or trap the target in a brief, vivid illusion. (Effect lasts 5 seconds, 10-minute cooldown). This is a tool for interrogation, manipulation, and psychological devastation.

[LEVEL 5: MAX - EYE OF THE SOUL-EATER] (Locked)

Evolution: The user's unique Mangekyō pattern fully awakens, evolving the ability into [KAGUTSUCHI'S REFLECTION] (Rank S+).

Effect: Unlocks the ultimate illusion, [Phantasmal Prison]. The user can drag a target's consciousness into a mental world where the user is a god, controlling time, space, and sensation. One second in reality can feel like an eternity of torment inside the illusion. (Single-use per day, high mana cost).

Below each level listing was its upgrade cost:

Lvl 1 → 2: 500 AP

Lvl 2 → 3: 1000 AP

Lvl 3 → 4: 10,000 AP

Lvl 4 → 5: 25,000 AP

Izuku had 1970 AP. He could upgrade to Level 3 immediately and still have points left over.

"Arcan," he said, his voice suddenly cold and decisive. "Upgrade Sharingan. To Level 3. Now."

『Are you insane?』 Arcan's voice rose to a squawk of protest. 『That's fifteen hundred AP! You could max out three stats with that! You're betting the entire house on one ability that you've had for less than five minutes!』

Izuku barely registered her objections.

"Mysticism Level 3 allows me to convert Intelligence into physical force during strikes. Sharingan Level 2 lets me perfectly copy any physical movement I see. Level 3 lets me predict my opponent's next move before they make it."

His eyes gleamed with a cold light. "I don't need another ten points of Strength. I need to know how to fight like a grandmaster, see the future, and hit with the force of my mind. This is the build. This is the path to becoming a monster."

Without further hesitation, he mentally slammed the [CONFIRM] button.

The effect was instantaneous. Unlike the warm flow of energy that accompanied stat increases, this was a sharp, cold clarity that flooded his mind. A burning sensation ignited behind his eyes, as if invisible hands were rewiring the neural pathways connecting his vision to his brain.

Izuku stumbled to his knees, hands pressed against his temples. For a brief, searing moment, he caught his reflection in the dark screen of his television—his green eyes flashed a brilliant crimson, three black tomoe spinning lazily into place around each pupil. Then the sensation faded, and his eyes returned to their normal emerald color.

But the world didn't look the same.

Everything was sharper, clearer. The dust motes hanging in the sunbeam from his window he could track individually. The subtle stain on his wall from a spilled drink last year now stood out in perfect detail.

The sound of the showers shutting off pulled him back to his immediate situation. He heard Inko and Aries laughing in the hallway, their voices returning from their own post-celebration cleanup.

He glanced at his status screen one last time:

His remaining 470 points would have to wait. There were more important things to focus on now. The U.A. entrance exam loomed less than six months away, and he had just obtained the ultimate learning tool.

A knock at his door interrupted his thoughts.

"Izuku?" Inko called. "Are you ready for ice cream? Aries is practically bouncing off the walls with excitement."

"Be right there," he answered, closing the laptop.

As he reached for the doorknob, he paused and tried to activate his new ability. He wasn't sure how it worked—did it need a command, a gesture, a focus of will?

He closed his eyes and pictured the crimson iris he'd glimpsed in his reflection. When he opened them again, the world gained a subtle red tint, and time seemed to slow. He could see the individual fibers in the wooden door, count the threads in his shirt sleeve, track the microscopic movements of his own hand through the air.

More importantly, he could sense the energy—the Quirk factors—flowing through the apartment walls. Two distinct signatures: Inko's gentle pull, localized in her hands, and Aries's wool-generating power, diffused throughout her body like a warm blanket.

"Holy shit," he whispered, blinking to deactivate the ability. His normal vision returned, but the memory of that enhanced perception remained crystal clear.

Another knock, more insistent this time. "Izuku? The ice cream place will get crowded soon!"

He opened the door to find Aries waiting, her pink hair still damp from the shower. Behind her, Inko stood smiling, her purse already slung over her shoulder.

"Sorry," Izuku said, stepping into the hallway. "I was just looking up some new training routines."

"Training can wait," Aries declared, grabbing his arm. "Ice cream first!"

He would need to test its limits, understand what it could truly do. But that could wait a few hours. For now, he would celebrate with ice cream. He had earned it.
