"What?"
Every nerve in my body went cold. Before I could get another word out, the line went dead.
Terror shot through me like ice water in my veins. My hands trembled as I stared at the silent phone screen.
No. This couldn't be happening. Jeffrey and Naia had to be safe. They had to be.
I stumbled to my feet just as Jayden appeared at our table. His dark eyes immediately caught the panic written across my face, his brow creasing with concern. But I couldn't stop to explain. I bolted from the restaurant, my heels hammering against the polished floor.
The glass doors whooshed open and my security detail was already moving. One of them had the car door open before I even reached the curb.
"My children's school. Now." The words came out in a breathless rush as I collapsed into the backseat. My driver didn't hesitate, gunning the engine while the rest of my team fell in behind us.
