Jayden's POV
My fingers were locked around Luis's throat when Ebony's voice cut through the chaos like a blade. "Jayden, stop!"
I didn't listen.
I released Luis, letting him crash to the stone floor with a satisfying thud, then spun toward Ebony. My hand shot out to capture her wrist. "You're leaving with me. Now."
"No!" She fought against my grip, twisting desperately.
But before I could haul her away from this disaster, I sensed movement at my back.
Luis had recovered faster than expected. The shift was already tearing through him.
His beast erupted from human flesh like lightning striking earth. Silver-touched fur rippled across powerful muscles as deadly claws extended. A rumbling growl escaped his throat, primal and threatening.
He was issuing a direct challenge.
Abner awakened inside me with savage delight. "About time," he snarled, hungry for blood. "I've been waiting for this moment."
I didn't hesitate. The transformation surged through my body.
