Jasmine's POV
Sunlight streamed through my bedroom window as I stretched luxuriously on the soft mattress. A contented sigh escaped my lips. For the first time in ages, my body felt completely at peace. No aches, no tension, just a warm glow settling deep in my chest.
I knew exactly what had caused this feeling.
Jayden.
Last night replayed in my mind like a cherished memory. After I had excused him and the king so they could discuss their important meeting, I had settled beside sleeping Leus, ready to drift off myself. But then the door had opened quietly, and Jayden appeared carrying a drowsy Naia in his arms.
He placed her gently next to me with such tenderness that my heart clenched. I expected him to leave immediately, but he lingered in the darkness. I could sense his presence, feel his eyes on me even with my own closed.
