Jasmine's POV
I found myself chewing the end of my pen again, staring at the blank computer screen while my notebook lay open beside me. The cursor blinked mockingly at me as I tried to focus on designing sketches for the new collection, but my thoughts kept wandering elsewhere.
Setting the pen down with a frustrated sigh, I pressed my fingertips against my temples and closed my eyes. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't shake the memory of what happened at the wedding.
Stephen's expression haunted me most of all.
That hollow, distant look in his eyes as we prepared to leave the ceremony. While everyone else appeared shaken and wounded by the events, he looked completely destroyed. Like something vital inside him had been ripped away and couldn't be restored.
Perhaps it had been.
