Jayden's POV
The shower spray hammered against my shoulders, scalding hot, but I couldn't feel the burn. My mind was somewhere else entirely.
Steam filled the small bathroom, fogging every surface. Water cascaded down the glass door in rivers. I stood there with my palms flat against the wet tiles, chin dropped to my chest, letting the heat wash over my face.
But nothing could wash away what I'd witnessed.
That moment kept replaying behind my closed eyelids. Jeffrey, so small and fragile, his little body shaking with rage. Those crimson eyes blazing like fire. The way his tiny fangs emerged, sharp and deadly.
And then he struck. No hesitation. No fear. Pure instinct driving him to sink those fangs into Isabel's flesh.
I watched it happen. Felt every second of it.
Her body jerked and spasmed as the poison spread through her veins. Dark lines crawled across her pale skin like spider webs. Her final breath rattled in her throat as her gaze found Harry one last time.
