Lord Linus' POV
My fist collided with the stone wall of my study, sending a spider web of cracks across its surface. The sharp pain that shot through my knuckles felt like nothing compared to the rage burning in my chest.
That arrogant bastard. King Apollo had the audacity to humiliate me and my family in front of those worthless commoners. My so-called best friend had stood there watching as his illegitimate son declared that abomination his mate.
The Moon Goddess must have been completely out of her mind when she bound Jayden to that creature.
I stalked across the room, my teeth grinding together until my jaw ached. There was a time when I would have gladly laid down my life for Apollo. We had bled together in the great war, spent countless hours training side by side, shared the burden of leadership. But those days were long gone.
Now I could see the truth with crystal clarity. He was no better than me. He never had been.
