Jayden's POV
I never intended to kiss her. My plan was simple - have a rational conversation about the children and our complicated situation.
But the moment our lips met, rational thought abandoned me completely. The softness of her mouth against mine, that intoxicating scent that made my head spin with pure want - I was lost.
Every coherent thought scattered the instant she melted into my arms.
Even now, as we walked from the garden back toward the palace, our fingers interlaced, all I could think about was finding somewhere private where I could truly claim her. The memory of her pressed against me haunted every step - the way her body felt molded to mine, how perfectly she fit in my hands, those sweet sounds she made.
My body was responding again, heat pooling low in my stomach. I'd been fighting this desire for weeks, but remembering only made the craving worse. I wanted to take her completely, to lose myself in her until neither of us could think straight.
