Jasmine's POV
Ebony stood before me with her arms crossed, her jaw set in a hard line. When our eyes met, hers blazed with barely contained fury.
"We need to have words," she said, her voice cutting through the air like ice.
I gave a small nod and walked behind her down the corridor. The shadows seemed heavier here, pressing against us as we moved. This hallway once echoed with our childhood giggles and whispered secrets. Now it felt suffocating with unspoken resentment.
She came to an abrupt halt and spun around to face me. The words burst from her lips as if they had been clawing to escape for weeks.
"I despise how Luis chooses you over me every single time," she spat.
My breath caught in my throat.
"I am his fated mate, Jasmine. I should be his priority, his first thought, his everything. But when he fled to the human world with you, he never once considered what it would do to me." Her voice cracked slightly, betraying the pain beneath her anger.
