Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

"Now, how are you going to make amends?"

Skye widened her eyes. He's slandering me!

Chapter Thirty-Six: Blatant Treason! The U.S. Is Finished!

"You devil! I clearly haven't had a chance to do anything yet..."

Skye instinctively retorted, but Aaron just said, "Oh? So you admit you were planning something just now!"

"Tell me, who assigned the mission to the Rising Tide Organization?"

Aaron looked directly into her eyes, activating Super Perception, Super Vision, and Vibration Sense fully.

As long as there was any possibility of Skye lying, he would instantly perceive it. Although Aaron had not received any training in interrogation or micro-expressions.

But anyone with his level of abilities could easily judge whether the other party was telling the truth. Even the top Agent in the World couldn't hide anything from him!

Moreover, Skye was just a fledgling; aside from her decent hacking skills, she was just an ordinary person.

Oh no, her genes were still somewhat different, after all, she was one of the Inhumans. Skye was speechless.

"Think carefully about the consequences. I can hand you over to the Police at any time. Considering the hundreds of millions in losses and the donations and taxes we provide annually, trust me, both the Police station and the court will definitely uphold the law!"

"I'll give you a number: ten years!"

"If I say you'll be locked up for ten years, it will absolutely be ten years, no more and no less!"

In this country where money reigns supreme, nothing except Death cannot be solved by money. As long as there is enough money, running for President or having Congress amend or add laws is not a problem.

Look up the Anti-Squid Consciousness Act. Skye was greatly shocked upon hearing this. "You... how can you do this! This is slander! This is defamation! I'm going to sue you for slandering me!"

"Are you suggesting that I, a rising star worth hundreds of billions, am slandering you, a hacker thief who casually invades other people's companies?"

"Who do you think the public will be more willing to believe?" Aaron asked meaningfully.

Skye looked conflicted after hearing this. "Fine, I don't know who assigned the mission. This was a task given to me by the Rising Tide Organization. I was just taking on some part-time work while finishing my studies..."

"They asked me to find out about your company's research status regarding the limb regeneration potion, and whether you were conducting inhumane human experiments."

"Especially you... you used some extraordinary power during the board meeting. Once it's confirmed that you are illegally conducting human experiments to study the abilities of certain devils, then..."

"Then you'll make it public and let the law judge me?" Aaron couldn't help but laugh. "What a silly girl!"

Skye said indignantly, "I am upholding the people's right to know, and serving the people! Large corporations like yours must accept public Super Vision!"

"Is that so? Then have you investigated A.I.M.?"

"Do you know what they are doing?"

"The Rising Tide Organization? Serving the people? Hahaha, that's the funniest joke I've ever heard!"

Aaron genuinely found Skye's explanation hilarious.

What rubbish about serving the people? Where in the World are there so many charitable organizations powered by love and dedicated to serving the public?

He knew exactly what the Rising Tide Organization was! A hacker organization that dared to disregard the law and violate the Dao just for enough money.

Their so-called service to the people was nothing more than self-promotion. It only fooled naive girls like Skye.

Anyone who had been out in society for a few days would never believe such nonsense.

All the bustle in the World is for gain; all the hustle in the World is for gain. The ancients made it very clear.

The entire World is just a huge makeshift stage, and profit is what they fight for! Even Aaron himself—

The contemporary Einstein? Pioneer of Human Civilization? Pioneer of the medical industry? Give me a break, he couldn't care less what these people thought.

"Alright, I see you don't know anything either. You're just a hot-headed youth who's been kept in the dark."

"Come with me!"

Aaron stopped questioning her. He was certain Skye hadn't lied, and continuing to ask would be pointless.

The Rising Tide Organization? That elusive hacker organization? Heh, if they dared to offend Aaron, they only had themselves to blame!

Skye froze when she saw this. "Wha... what are you doing?" "You!" "Huh?"

Aaron looked at her with a half-smile. "Since you're already here, wouldn't it be a shame to leave without looking around?"

"Didn't you want to see what we're doing? Come, I'll take you to see for yourself!"

Without allowing Skye to refuse, Aaron grabbed her and walked toward the building.

The tiger has no intention to harm, but man has the heart to harm the tiger. Regardless of Skye's initial intentions, now that she had stepped through this door, she shouldn't expect to leave easily.

At the same time, his brain connected to nearby signals and sent a text message to Felicia, telling her to drive the car to an uninhabited area.

Skye was very reluctant. She felt like the Osborn Building was a gaping prehistoric beast—easy to enter, difficult to leave.

She wanted to leave, but Aaron's hand was unshakeable, like an iron clamp.

Skye was forced into the building, under the curious gaze of the other people.

Aaron brought her to the laboratory building. "Boss!" It was Norman again.

Noticing Skye beside Aaron, Norman glanced at her curiously and said, "I have already contacted Dr. Helen Zhao. She will arrive promptly at three o'clock this afternoon."

Aaron nodded and looked at a person in the distance who was staring in their direction.

Norman looked over and quickly said, "That is the secretary of the U.S. Air Force Supreme Commander. He is here about that matter."

Aaron realized, "Is our Air Force Commander that impatient?"

"After all, he is old, and it is rumored that he recently contracted lung cancer. Although it has not been confirmed, it's probably true."

"In any case, he highly values our research and hopes to have his secretary assist us. If we need anything, we can contact him at any time."

"Even a fighter jet?" Aaron had a flash of inspiration.

He currently had many abilities, but he lacked the ability to fly. While webs were good, they were significantly inferior compared to flight.

Aaron had considered finding certain flying units to fuse with, such as supersonic frigatebirds or peregrine falcons.

But comparatively, if he could get a fighter jet directly, that would clearly be better.

Norman was stunned, looked at Aaron's skin color hesitantly, then thought for a moment. "No problem. Are there any other requests?"

Aaron said without hesitation, "The sooner, the better, and the more advanced, the better!"

Norman nodded, turned around, and exchanged a few words with the person.

Skye rolled her eyes. "Can't you tell? You're Asian. An Air Force General couldn't possibly agree to such an outrageous request."

That would be equivalent to treason! Surely the brave and fearless General wouldn't accept this request!

Aaron said mysteriously, "That's not necessarily true."

Before long, the man walked over and enthusiastically shook Aaron's hand.

"Mr. Aaron, I heard from Mr. Norman that you currently lack a vehicle suitable for your status. When General Ronald heard this, he immediately felt that an outstanding individual like you needs a ride that is absolutely fantastic!"

"For example... a fighter jet! We are willing to provide you with a fighter jet as your personal vehicle. It definitely won't be inferior to Mr. Stark's armor!"

Under Skye's shocked, surprised, and disbelieving gaze, the secretary continued:

"So, Mr. Aaron, do you require the higher performance F-22, or the faster F-15?"

"Of course, we also have the faster YF-12A interceptor and the Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft, but considering those are decades-old relics, they might not suit your status..."

"No! You can't do this! This... this is treason!" Skye felt her worldview shatter!

Was this still the military she remembered? Blatant treason?!

The secretary looked at Skye suspiciously, as if asking, 'Is this woman not one of us?'

"Ignore her." Aaron shook his head. "Let's continue."

The secretary nodded, thought for a moment, and said, "Madam, Mr. Aaron is the most outstanding individual in the U.S., as well as a major taxpayer and a patriot. Please stop slandering us!"

"We are merely representing the Air Force to express our regards to Mr. Aaron!"

This utterly ridiculous statement left Skye dumbfounded! Oh no, the U.S. is finished!

Aaron thought for a moment. "I want them all!"

The secretary froze. Another slightly aged voice came through his headset. "Agree to his request!"

The secretary immediately returned to normal. "No problem, we are happy to serve you!" "Only..."

"Please thank General Ronald for me. This afternoon, Mr. Norman will deliver a gift to him!"

Aaron glanced at Skye and added, "This is an early Christmas present, a unique and truly perfect gift!"

"I believe General Ronald will be so happy he'll feel ten years younger!"

The secretary could feel the heavy breathing coming through his earpiece. His face was wreathed in smiles. "Then thank you for your generosity!"

Skye was dumbfounded. I need to report this; they are blatantly making an under-the-table deal!

A Christmas present? It's only freaking May! You... you should at least use a logical excuse, fuck!
