Jigen observed both stretchers in silence, evaluating his tools.
"Amado," he finally said. "This white-haired boy… the one with the second Karma. Does he still not have a designation?"
Amado checked his electronic tablet.
"No. So far we've only registered him as Subject 02. You did not request a name."
Jigen narrowed his eyes as he analyzed the child—his breathing, his posture, the way his chakra pulsed irregularly even while he slept.
"He will need one," Jigen murmured.
He leaned forward slightly, first looking at the albino child to the right.
"This one will be Code."
Then his gaze shifted to the other boy.
"And he will be Gama. A simple name. Enough for a vessel that may die or become something useful."
"I want both of them to have their names tattooed on their faces."
With the names already imposed, Jigen took a step back.
That was when Amado spoke, showing on the screens the freshly processed data.
"The Karma these two possess… it's not functioning as it should," he explained. "There is no constant rewriting process. It does not follow the pattern of a traditional Karma. It behaves adaptively… almost selectively."
Jigen watched him coldly.
"What does that mean?"
"That they are not evolving toward an Otsutsuki. They are evolving toward themselves. The Karma is purifying, stabilizing… and in both cases, it remains completely white."
The screens displayed a perfect, uniform pulse.
Jigen remained silent for several seconds.
"How dangerous could they become?"
Amado lowered his head.
"If they keep growing at this rate… they could surpass your capabilities sooner than expected. Three to five years, and they could already be stronger than you."
Jigen's golden eyes shone with a dark glint.
He remembered every interaction. Every cold stare.
Neither Code nor Gama showed devotion—
not even fear.
It was as if their natural instinct to submit to an Otsutsuki simply did not exist.
They were different.
Too different.
"They show no reverence toward me," he said quietly. "A vessel should feel affinity… should seek my presence. But they do not."
Amado said nothing. It was the truth.
Jigen turned around, his cloak shifting like the shadow of an irritated god.
"Put limiters on them," he ordered.
"On… both?" Amado asked, though he already knew the answer.
"On Code… and on Gama. I will not allow two brats with an anomalous Karma to surpass my current form. Nor to develop a power I cannot control."
The sentence fell like a hammer.
Amado nodded slowly.
"Understood."
As Jigen walked away, his face revealed something he rarely showed—
Fear.
Code and Gama sat on two parallel stretchers.
They still didn't understand what was happening… but they could feel the danger in the air.
It was the kind of silence that precedes a storm.
Jigen watched from above, arms crossed, while Amado prepared tools, needles, and sensor devices.
"Listen carefully," Jigen said, his voice low but sharp. "What I will do now will ensure you do not stray from your purpose. Be useful… and you will live."
Code and Gama exchanged a brief glance.
Code's jaw tightened.
Gama, quieter, swallowed hard.
Amado activated a screen showing a 3D model of their white Karma.
"Your Karmas present an anomaly," he explained. "They do not evolve into an Otsutsuki, but their growth is unpredictable. They may surpass Jigen if this continues."
Jigen snapped his fingers.
"That is why you will have limiters. Nothing more. A necessary brake."
Code gritted his teeth.
Gama closed his eyes for a moment.
They knew resisting was useless.
The Installation
Amado placed a metallic brace around Code's right arm.
A cold ring tightened against his skin.
"This may hurt," Amado warned without emotion.
The ring emitted a click.
A blue beam pierced through Code's white Karma—
and he screamed for the first time since he reincarnated.
It was not ordinary physical pain.
It felt like every cell in his body was being crushed from the inside.
Like the Karma was being forced shut—
repressed by sheer force.
His breathing turned ragged and shaky.
He bent forward, gasping.
"You shouldn't resist," Amado murmured. "It only makes it worse."
When the device fully integrated, the screen displayed:
LIMITER ACTIVATED — POWER LEVELS REDUCED TO 2%
Code felt as if his body were empty.
As if something that belonged to him had been stolen.
"Now you," Amado said, turning to Gama.
Gama didn't scream, but his entire body trembled as if pierced by a thousand needles.
His fingers curled, his eyes watered—
but he made no sound.
Amado raised an eyebrow.
"High resistance. Interesting."
The device synchronized.
LIMITER ACTIVATED — WHITE KARMA IN SEALED STATE
Gama exhaled for the first time during the process.
Shivering, sweat dripping down his forehead.
Jigen's Judgment
The two boys lay exhausted, breathing heavily.
Jigen approached, examining them as if they were faulty weapons.
"From now on… you will obey.
Your bodies, your strength, your Karma… all will be under my control."
Neither responded.
They had no strength left.
Jigen turned to leave, but dropped one final sentence:
"If either of you tries to break your limiters… I will rip the Karma out with my own hands."
A chill ran down Code's spine.
Gama stayed still—but his fists were clenched.
After the Procedure
When Jigen left, Amado turned off the screens and began storing his tools.
"Recover. Starting tomorrow… the limited training protocols begin."
He left without looking back.
They were alone.
Code collapsed back on the stretcher, trembling.
"This… is worse than I remembered," he whispered in his mind.
Reincarnation had given him no advantage.
Only a new hell.
Gama, beside him, looked at his arm where the device glowed faintly under the skin.
"Did you… feel it too?" he asked softly, almost a whisper.
Code looked at him for the first time with real attention.
"Yes."
"You're not Code… are you?"
