Chapter 3 - CHAP-1: RETURN TO 19 DAYS BEFORE...

'Snap~'

"Frequent flu outbreaks recently, please pay attention to personal protection, reduce visits to public places, avoid unnecessary gatherings, and keep warm..."

"Ashira, are you listening to me!?" Someone said.

Ashira Vale, who was staring at the news on the television, shivered and looked at everything in front of her in disbelief.

The large living room, over 30 square meters with old decor, was filled with a group of middle-aged men and women sitting on the old mahogany sofa. In the center was a stout old woman in her sixties or seventies with gray hair.

The old woman was currently glaring at Ashira, her plump, sagging facial muscles twitching up and down.

Ash looked at the scene before her.

Isn't this the scene from half a month before the apocalypse when her 'good grandma merta', 'good father lionne', and 'good stepmother linda' came to force her to vacate her house...?

She was clearly just in the Zombie siege at the Eastern Base...

"Ashira, after your mother left, your stepmother linda has always treated you like her own. Everyone said she's good! Now your brother is getting married, and he needs to borrow your house. What are you being so stingy about! You're just an ungrateful wrench!" Her so called grandmother 'merta' said.

"Mom, ashy isn't an ungrateful wretch, she'll definitely be grateful." The stout woman 'linda' sitting next to her said, playing the peacemaker in a fake manner.

"Hmph!" The stout old woman snorted coldly.

"Hurry up and clear out the house. Your brother said your house has been rented out for too long and the furniture is too old. If he doesn't get new furniture, he can't get married. You can reimburse him for the money later. He's your brother! As his sister, shouldn't you prepare some things for his wedding?" Ashira, who was standing in the middle of the group, suddenly burst out laughing when she heard this.

They wanted her house and wanted her to pay for new furniture? That was too ridiculous. Even more ridiculous was that in her previous life, she actually did it!!!

~

In her previous life...

Her mother d¡ed in a car accident when she was 14. Not long after, her stepmother moved in with a son. Her stepmother put on a very good facade, truly being 'meticulous' towards ashira.

Ashira was in her rebellious phase at that time, prickly towards everyone she met, but in reality, she yearned deeply for familial warmth. Linda's gentleness and understanding truly deceived her. She supported everything and didn't interfere with her affairs, making Ashira truly regard her as a mother for a time.

She was willing to give them anything good. Later, even the only house her mother left her, she only hesitated for a moment before agreeing.

But after the apocalypse came, she was abandoned by them more than once. Later, in order to board a rescue vehicle, they even kicked her away to escape. Only then did Ash truly understand what hypocrisy meant. What family affection meant!!!

From the beginning to the end, she was the one they used, the food they fed on and the blood they all drank. And When she lost her worth, they throw her out like trash. None of them ever treated her like family.

She really wanted to slap her foolish past self a few times!

"Bang!"

In front of them, Ashira grabbed several bags of cheap fruit from the old coffee table and threw them into the trash can, then sat down in front of them.

"Ash, what are you doin!? This is imported apple my mom specially bought for you. She said you like apples the most. How could you throw them away!" The young man 'michael' sitting on the short sofa who had been playing on his phone immediately put down his phone and angrily rebuked her.

Ashira sneered. She liked apples the most?

How come she didn't even know that herself? She glanced coldly at her 'good brother'. "Are you qualified to talk to me about the house?"

At this moment, Ashira looked at him with cold eyes. Michael's heart inexplicably trembled, and he didn't dare to meet her gaze. Those were eyes full of killing intent, the killing intent Ash had honed from fighting alone in the apocalypse for ten years after they abandoned her!

Michael immediately cowered.

Just then, her stepmother Linda quickly stepped in to smooth things over, "Ashy, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? If you're not feeling well, we can come back another day. Mom knows you're wronged, but Michael is your brother. The bride's family insists on a house in the city center. Houses in the city center are hard to buy even with money now, and you have to win a lottery." Linda said.

"Sigh.." , "I'm begging you. Just help your only brother. When you get married later, we'll find a way to get you a new one and give it back to you..." She added.

"Give what back??" Ashira's father 'lionne', who had been silent, finally spoke. He glared angrily at Ash, "Do you really think this house is yours? What does a girl need a house for?? This house is for your brother! When you get married later, just have your Husband buy a new one! What are you arguing about!?"

Ashira heard her father's words and was too lazy to respond.

In her previous life, she had to wonder why her father treated her like that, she really thought she's the biological daughter yet he treated his stepson much more. Well that's because Micheal was his biological son too, his very own son!

Before he married her mother Ashira's mom, he had already married Linda in his hometown. And they had a son. In his father's eyes, she was just nothing!

Ash looked at them blankly, "₱16 million".

Everyone present was stunned when they heard this, all confused.

"Ashira, what are you talking about??" Her father Lio ask in disbelief.

"This house is my mom's pre-marital property, and it was later notarized as a GIFT to me. The property rights are MINE. So...yeaa If you want it, then pay up. I'll give it to you for a cheaper price, ₱16 million." She just casually said.

"You want to sell the house to us!? Are you kidding!? And where would we get that much money!??" Michael blunt.

Ashira raised the electronic watch on her wrist, "I'll give you five counts to consider. If you don't agree, I'll sell it to someone else. FIVE."

"Ashira, we are your elders, and you're talking money with us!?" Her grandmother said angrily.

"FOUR."

"You ungrateful wretch, I'll beat you to death!" Merta said.

Ashira glanced coldly at the old woman and speed up, "THREE, TWO."

"How dare you?!" Ashira's father stood up just as about to hit her...

Ashira already kicked the chair under him, sending it flying, and looked indifferently at her father, who had fallen hard on his chair, coldly spitting out, "ONE."

"Ashira, you've really gotten into my nerve! You even dare to hurt Dad!?" Michael said.

Facing the fury of this group of people, Ashira was too lazy to bother to talked back. She took out her phone and dialed a number, "Attorney Via, I want to sell my house, 16 million..."

This house had been entrusted to a real estate agent for rent for many years.

"You'll schedule it? Hmm..." Ashira smiled and glanced over them. "Okay then, I'll..."

"Stop talking, we agree!" Linda quickly agreed when she saw Ashira was about to sell it. "Haistt Fine! Sell it to us! " She added.

This house is worth ₱24 million on the market! ₱16 million is truly a cheap one! Moreover, new houses in the city center have too many restrictions, requiring household registration and lottery wins. Ash house is extremely sought after! Although she didn't know why this didn't go according to their plan, the most important thing was that outsiders shouldn't get this bargain!

If she bought it for ₱16 million, she could turn around and sell it, making another million! Hehe. Ash lips curled slightly as she looked at the agreeing Linda, and she hung up the phone.

At a price of ₱16 million, Ashira was losing a bit, but it wouldn't sell that quickly in a short time. Time is money, and she needed both time and money. Most importantly, after she sold the house to them, they would have no money left. She calculated that they only had ₱16 million on hand. You know, three days before the apocalypse, the government issued a warning to stockpile supplies.

She wanted to see what they would do.

~

"Beep—Bank card credited with ₱16 million."

Half an hour later, at the bank counter, ashira's account had an additional ₱16 million pesos.

Linda and the others looked unwilling but paid up anyway.

Attorney Via on the other side kept calling. She was unhappy but didn't dare to say anything, fearing Ash would sell it directly to the other agent.

"The Housing Management Bureau is on holiday these days. I'll go with you to transfer the ownership after they open." Ashira boredly said.

"It's okay, ashy, aren't we reassured about you?" Linda smiled sweetly, her foxy eyes narrowed, looking at her. "The ownership transfer isn't urgent. But, we'll notify you later."

She looked generous and trusting, but Ashira knew she wasn't trusting her at all; she was guarding against her future daughter-in-law! She was afraid her name would be written on the property deed!

Now the deed is in Ashira's name, so she can still make excuses!

Ashira's smile deepened when she heard this.

~

At this moment...

"Since our family finally bought the house, hurry up and get out! Throw away all your garbage and junk! I can't stand a single piece of it! I'm picking up my fiancée later to buy a new furniture!" Michael said.

Seeing that their family had spent money, his face immediately changed.

"Michael, why can you make your sister move in such a short time? Let her stay for a few more days. She's so sensible, she'll definitely give you some storage fees and even replace some furniture for you. You're the brother, you should be more accommodating." Linda said.

"Mom! Why are you still feeling sorry for her!? With that money-grubbing face of her, she deserve it! Hurry up and get out ash! Oh, and that diseased dog in your room! Take it away quickly. If I see it when I come back, I'll slaughter it and eat it!" Michael said sarcastically.

Diseased dog?

Ashira, who was about to deal with this group of people, suddenly remember something.

Dog—

Her Storm was still alive! She no longer wasted a second dealing with these people and immediately ran back to her own room. As soon as she opened the bedroom door, a Girl German Shepherd, who had been pacing back and forth in the room, jumped into her arms.

"Woof woof!"

"Storm!"

When Ash hugged storm, she was so excited that she was about to cry. Her baby was still alive!

Storm was a retired military dog, a gift from her mother on her tenth birthday. It was very intelligent. After her mother passed away, it was Storm who stayed with her throughout the most difficult time. Her stepmother's family didn't like it. They tried to abandon it several times, but storm would always run back on its own.

Later, they even wanted to give it away. Ashira was determined to protect it and yell out with everyone several times. Linda kept it for the sake of her stepmother's good reputation, but it was always kept in Ashira's room.

It was only after Ash moved back into the house where her mother left, The dog during this time had more space to move around. But, as soon as her stepbrother and the others came, it was locked up again.

Not long after the apocalypse came in her previous life, because Storm was old, Her family decided to ate it while she was out looking for food! Ashira had always blamed herself for not being able to protect it.

"Storm."

"Woof woof!"

Storm licked Ashira's hand.

"Storm, don't worry, in this life, I will never let anyone hurt you again!" She said

"Woof woof woof!" Storm barked, showing great intelligence.

After petting Storm, Ash began to pack her things.

This house had been rented out for many years and was very old, but the tables and chairs were bought by her mother during her lifetime. They were very expensive when she bought them. When her mother was alive, she always lived here with her. The items weren't particularly useful, but they were full of memories. Ashira's eyes held a hint of reluctance as she returned here.

Just then, a voice sounded in her mind...

[Ding—SUPER LORD SYSTEM ACTIVATED!]

[Within one hour, for every item carried with a value exceeding one thousand pesos, one cubic meter of space will be rewarded!]Said of the system in her mind.

Ash was startled.

[Countdown, 59 minutes and 60 seconds!]

Ash felt the words in her mind in disbelief. She casually picked up her phone from the table and tried it.

[Beep—Phone detected, value ₱40,846!

Reward 40,846 cubic meters!]

A four-cubic-meter empty space really appeared in Ashira's mind. And the phone in her hand disappeared in the blink of an eye, appearing in that empty space in her mind.

SPACE!! It's real!

She tried to silently think of the phone, and immediately, the phone returned to her hand from the space! Ash was instantly overjoyed when she saw this! It was exactly as she thought! She used to read a lot of novels; and this was The Legendary System!

Ash quickly accepted this Golden Finger and began to frantically absorb items. At the same time, she discovered the pricing standard within it: the system recognized the original purchase price of these items!

It didn't matter if they were worn out or disassembled for carrying! She immediately joined the ranks of moving and dismantling!

In about ten minutes, everything from small items like shoes, hats, clothes, pots, bowls, paper, pens, cups, trash cans, storage jars, collection albums, nail clippers, to Large items like tables, chairs, benches, beds, cabinets... anything that could be moved was taken away by her!

Even the rotten apples that her brother Michael and his family brought today were picked up and thrown in!

[Beep—Detected 5 pieces of rotten apples, value ₱25.]

Ashira spat when she heard the price.

"Damn it, how cheap!" She said.

They brought rotten apples worth ₱5 every piece and claimed they were imported, then opened their mouths to ask for a ₱24 million house for free?! What kind of outrageous family was that!?

But she didn't mind anymore! No matter how small a mosquito is, it's still meat! So keep it!

Soon, everything in the house that could be moved was gone, and her target shifted to things that couldn't be moved.

[Beep—Detected one toilet, value ₱16,333!]

With great strength, Ash removed the toilet! She had a lot of strength before, but compared to her previous life struggling in the apocalypse for 10 years, this body was still much weaker. It seemed she would have to train her body during this period.

After the toilet was removed.

[Beep—Detected washbasin, value ₱5,711!]

[Beep—Detected range hood, value ₱21,236!]

[Beep—Detected stove, value ₱3,995!]

[Beep—Detected security door, value ₱12,983!]

She would dismantle everything that could be dismantled! She wouldn't even leave a single screw for those bastards!

[Beep—Detected glass window, value ₱3,268!]

[Beep—Detected floor, value ₱1,225!]
