OLEANDER
Today was Christmas but it didn't even feel like it.
It felt like every normal day to me. Ever since my father had died, every holiday I enjoyed before seemed barely enjoyable anymore.
Grandma Clarice had made some nice roast and wanted me to have some. But I doubted eating would make me feel any better.
I froze in my tracks as I felt it again.
I gazed at my arms as goosebumps spread over my skin. I looked over my shoulders again. Yet, I found no one there.
But the feelings of being watched still lingered.
I grimaced, caressing the hair at the back of my neck, before sitting on the stone bench, in the middle of the garden, legs crossed, face in the air, enjoying the warmth from the sun.
My gaze drifted to the sky, staring at the blueness, before heaving a breath.
I pushed back what I currently was feeling behind the back of my mind, the only reasonable thing to do. I mean, this place was secluded and grandma Clarice was the only one around me.
