Chapter 2 - Chapter 2.The Substitute Bride

Alea still looked confused by the room she was currently in.

It was a strange place, but Alea found it amazing, especially the pool she had fallen into, which looked so beautiful.

The water was clear and warm. Surrounding her were purple flowers with a strong but soothing fragrance.

"Where am I? How did I get here?"

Slowly, Alea pulled herself out of the pool and walked into a room with an ivory door covered in ancient carvings.

As she slid open the wooden door, Alea's eyes were once again amazed by what was inside. A large canopy bed, draped with thin silver curtains that sparkled like stardust. On the neatly arranged pillows was a small crown made of pure silver, decorated with blue sapphires.

The white marble floor shone like it was covered in ice. The walls were not painted, but decorated with carvings of crescent moons and silhouettes of wolves that seemed to move when the light touched them. Long champagne-colored curtains swayed gently, even though the windows were tightly closed.

Alea took a step back. Her heart was racing at the sight before her, and for some reason, she suddenly felt a chill.

"What is this place?" she whispered again.

Alea took another step forward to find out exactly where she was.

Slowly stepping inside, her hand touched the dressing table, which Alea thought looked very luxurious and beautiful.

The dressing table on the right side of the bed was neatly arranged. There was a bottle of perfume, an ivory comb, and an open letter. She didn't understand the language, but she recognized her name.

"Lady Valtira? Is she the owner of this room?"

Slowly, Alea's body felt a piercing cold. She really couldn't stand the cold air that filled the room.

"Why is the air getting colder? Is it because my clothes are wet? I think I need to change clothes."

Alea's eyes darted around, she planned to borrow clothes from the woman named Lady Vatira.

"There's no wardrobe?" Alea looked confused.

Her confusion immediately disappeared when she saw clothes and a robe hanging on a wooden mannequin in the corner of the bed.

The robe looked beautiful and, most importantly, warm. It hung elegantly, made of moon velvet, a fabric as soft as the night mist but with a thin sheen like dew under the moonlight.

It was a silvery blue color, resembling fur.

The hem of the robe was decorated with silver thread embroidery and obsidian stones, forming a crescent moon symbol and claw marks. On the back, there was a layer of soft white fur that felt warm, as if it had a life of its own.

Right at the collar, a round, bluish-silver moonstone was attached.

"It's really beautiful," said Alea, admiring the shape of the robe.

Alea, who was feeling cold again, immediately put it on.

Strangely, the robe, which looked oversized when she put it on, suddenly shrunk and fit Alea's body perfectly. It was as if the clothes had been made especially for her.

"It's so beautiful, and why do I look like a bride?" Alea looked at her reflection in the mirror there.

She admired her current appearance.

"This robe also fits perfectly and is very warm," she said again.

Alea also saw a veil made of soft, shiny fabric. She put it on and smiled once more in front of the mirror.

"It really looks like a wedding dress." Alea imagined herself wearing the dress on her wedding day with Elton.

"Miss! You look beautiful," a voice greeted her from the door that suddenly opened.

Alea, who had been daydreaming, was startled. She immediately covered her face with the veil mask that was part of the dress she was wearing.

"Hey, hurry! The ceremony is about to begin, we have to take Lady Vatira right away," said a middle-aged woman.

The three women, dressed in identical golden white dresses, immediately approached Alea. They seemed to be the servants there.

Alea, who was actually afraid of being mistaken for a thief, could only stand still.

"Miss, why haven't you finished the black wine? The wedding ritual is about to begin and the elders have already arrived."

Alea, who was shocked when she was handed a small glass of dark black liquid, could only drink it quickly.

The sweet taste surprised Alea a little. Even though it was dark black, Alea thought it would taste bitter.

"Come on, quickly take Lady Vatira to the wedding venue," shouted the woman who was the head servant.

"What? Wedding?" Alea thought in surprise.

"Miss, I—"

Suddenly, a girl in a navy blue dress burst in and was startled to see so many people there.

"Eve, what's wrong with you? Instead of helping your young mistress get ready, you went off somewhere?" scolded the woman named Yaya, who was the head maid.

"I'm sorry, Aunt Yaya. I was in the bathroom."

"All right, now take the crown and place it on Lady Vatira," she ordered, prompting Eve to walk over and pick up the small crown that had been on the pillow.

"Miss, you're not leaving after all. I'm so relieved to see you here," Eve whispered softly to Alea.

Alea, who did not know what the maid named Eve was talking about, could only remain silent. Alea was still completely confused about what would happen to her after this.

The three women carried Alea, who was also held by Eve.

Alea walked through a magnificent hallway with many ancient carvings that Alea had never seen before.

On the right and left sides of the hallway were large burning torches, adding to the mystical atmosphere.

"Oh God, what are they going to do to me?" Alea thought to herself once again.

When the large door made of high-quality steel was opened, Alea was amazed and got goosebumps.

The room was so large and magnificent, decorated with dim lights, surrounded by beautiful lilacs, and snow flowers that looked alive and seemed to whisper that something big was about to happen.

There was no music, but the room echoed with a soft breeze, as if it came from the breath of the spirit that guarded this sacred place.

Alea took a slow breath and continued walking towards what looked like a wedding altar.

There, Alea saw a figure that made her eyes widen in surprise. It was a tall figure wearing a robe that was almost identical to hers.

"Is he the groom? He's very handsome, but no! I already have a lover and there's no way I can marry that man. I must act immediately; this wedding cannot happen."

As Alea was about to uncover her face, she suddenly felt something strange in her body.

Alea's body felt light, but also burned. Her consciousness began to fade, and she didn't know what was happening to her. She seemed confused about what to do.

Alea looked at the man beside her, whose hand was holding hers and leading her into a sacred bowl filled with water.

"The water has turned clear; that means you two are truly destined to be together. Now you are officially husband and wife," said the old man with a long staff topped with a wolf's head.

"What? Husband and wife?" Alea exclaimed in shock.
