Chapter 2 - Dead Child

13.8 billion years have passed since the Big Bang once again hit and gave birth to a new universe. As usual, like the previous universe life cycle, the birth and death cycle ends it.

Atlas, a planet part of the Andromeda galaxy, is considered the home of maidens by all cosmos beings. It's one of the most popular planets among the universe's travelers.

The battlefield lay drenched with the rain and dead bodies of the fallen, the fire still burning even in the rain. A tattered flag, pierced and burning, marked the heart of the army.

Following the long graveyard of fallen soldiers, at the edge of the battlefield, a body stands, its head turned toward the sky; from near it, it is known that this body's soul has already left.

There were many scars and wounds on the body, as if some wild animal had attacked it. Just to its left, a sword was stabbed deep in the ground.

The sword pommel has a long, thread-like piece of cloth in gold color bound to it. And it's gripped fully covered with leather. Its guard was designed perfectly with gold and jewels.

From the look of it, it seems to have been stabbed by the person who died standing. The sword's blade was fully covered in dark blood, as if it were used to slay beings who had dark blood.

"Humanity and no war—it seems to be a dream of every planet."

A voice pierces through the silence of the battlefield out of nowhere. Near the sword, an insane flash of light blinked, and out of nowhere, Hyacinth appeared, floating an inch above the land on bare feet.

Hyacinth, one of the five primordial maidens, is considered the mother/guardian of life in the whole universe. She shares the conceptual power with every living being in the universe.

Now, to think of it, primordial maidens never interfere with human or any other being's matter, unless it is related to the universe's laws.

She put her hand on her head and plucked out one of her light purple hairs. She holds the hair with both hands from its edges, making it straight without any curl.

The hair looks completely straight like a line; later, she points it in front of her purple eyes and blinks once before blowing it off toward the battlefield.

"Sleep well, mortals; may you find peace in this long sleep till eternity."

The hair flew toward the battlefield, but before it could touch the ground, it started making many rope-like things from itself. And within a blink, it covered over the whole battlefield like a net.

The net made out of hair touched the ground and covered every last fallen soldier in it. And then the last part of the hair rope net touched the ground, and it started pouring on the ground as if it were pouring water.

In no time, the ground seemed clear, the normal grass turned back to normal, and every last bit of blood vanished with the dead bodies, like the ground had eaten them up and grown back grass.

Other than the sword, everything was dissolved into the ground, and nothing was left as any clue of a battle here in this place.

Hyacinth moved toward the sword, still her feet barely touching the ground. She grips the sword and takes it out of the ground.

The black blood dripped through it and was about to fall on the ground, but Hyacinth moved her finger upward while pointing it at the drop of blood, and the blood got absorbed into nowhere.

"Anti-regionals, hmmm… So this was indeed not a fight of mortals. No wonder not a single soldier survives."

She held the sword by its grip and pointed it toward the ground, and afterward, the sword started to vanish as dust flew away in the wind.

"My work here is done… I should—"

Before Hyacinth could complete her line, an immense echo happened in her head as if someone or something was trying to interfere with her brain.

What—what's happening! Something isn't right…

She holds her head tightly and closes her eyes; a message-type thing appears in front of Hyacinth's eye while she is closing her eyes.

"Save him; he is right now near the nearest tree."

She opened her eyes firmly and started looking around her. She was looking for the nearest tree in the area.

In this open field filled with green grass and mud, there was only one tree standing nearly at a distance of 49 meters. She turned toward that tree and went toward it.

She didn't rush to reach it quickly; instead, she moved normally while examining the tree from afar.

That was a willow tree with its long hanging branches, which were mostly covered in leaves. And beside the tree, there was a short flowing lake.

The river's water was coming from the mountains of this valley and flowing toward the river.

Meanwhile, the tree was fully healthy and from afar seemed pretty normal, but when Hyacinth reached a little closer, she saw a woman sitting under it.

A woman! What's she doing here while this place was a whole war ground?

The moment she reached close to that woman under the tree, her eyes widened with shock, and her hands seemed to be trembling with fear. No, it's not fear; it's something else.

The woman was shot with an arrow in her forehead, and the arrow pierced through her head and pierced the tree. Blood fell through her forehead and fell on her lap.

Her eyes were full of tears as if she had been crying before her soul left her body, and those tears were now filled with blood. Her gray hair was marked as red with her own blood.

She was brought here before I arrived and was killed, and she was pregnant… The message in my head—

After remembering the message, her mind went out of nowhere; she went near the woman and touched her belly gently while bending down a little.

There are… two children inside her womb; one is dead, but the other is alive…

She sat near the dead body while still touching her belly, putting her second hand above the other, and she pointed all her focus inside the womb.

She started closing her hand's fist gently and then opened it again while taking it upward, but slowly; she repeated this several times.

As she was doing it, there was something also coming outside of her belly, like it was passing through the skin without any effect.

And within a matter of time, the voice of a crying child emerged from one of the children who had just been taken out of the woman's womb.

From this twin, the girl has been alive, but the boy died in the womb.

Hmm, didn't that message in my head say something about "him," but the only male here already died, but the one who is alive is this twin of his.

She held the girl in her hand and put her hand on the child's body. That little girl kept quiet while staring at Hyacinth.

Hyacinth smiled as she saw that little girl staring at her, and then she widened her eyes a little; as she did that, the little girl was completely covered in clothes.

She did the same with the boy's body and gave it clothes. Hyacinth was completely lost and confused, because the message stated about saving a boy, not a girl, but the boy is dead.

Anastasia! Come to me right away. I have work for you.

Hyacinth called Anastasia with the telepathy; afterward, doing that, she sat completely calm beside the dead woman and started waiting for Anastasia.

Hyacinth starts staring at the dead woman while the dead boy and the crying girl rest in her lap.

Farewell! Daughter of Iris… May you rest well. I'll make sure your gift to this world blooms well.

In her voice, a little bit of sadness echoes, but then she turns her focus toward the child.

Hyacinth put her finger on that little girl's mouth, and that girl caught her finger with her little hands.

The newly born child is this much active and seems a little too well. Maybe because Hyacinth makes her feel forced, or maybe it is a blessing from Hyacinth herself, because she represents life.
