TOOTHLESS UPGRADED: THE DRAGON BUILT TO FIGHT DOOMSDAY
Night: Pocket Dimension — Damian's Lab
The moment the Doomsday mission appeared, Damian didn't sleep.
He spent hours in his underground lab inside the pocket dimension, pacing between glowing holo-screens filled with Kryptonian anatomy, energy readings, and Doomsday battle logs.
Toothless watched from the side, tail swishing curiously.
Damian finally stopped, smacked the table, and muttered:
"Fighting Doomsday head-on is suicide… unless you're designed to evolve mid-battle."
He turned toward Toothless.
"You already heal fast. You're fast enough to break sound barriers. But we need more."
Toothless chirped, half proud, half confused.
Damian placed a hand on the dragon's snout.
"I'm not letting you die. Not for this. Not for anything."
Toothless purred loudly.
STEP 1 — DRAGON ARMOR RESEARCH
Damian projected a hologram of Toothless' skeleton and muscle structure.
"Your hide is incredibly strong, but Doomsday's bone protrusions can pierce Kryptonian steel. So…"
He opened a vault.
Inside were:
shards of Nth metal
scraps of Apokoliptian alloy from a previous Justice League battle
a few grams of Kryptonian crystal stolen from Lex's vault
and extremely rare Dionesium, used to empower Court of Owls Talons
Damian whispered:
"This is overkill… perfect."
He began designing armor flexible enough for Toothless to move but strong enough to withstand being smashed by a monster that kills Kryptonians.
Forges lit. Sparks flew.
Toothless sat politely, occasionally nudging Damian with his head as if saying, "Work faster."
STEP 2 — FIRE UPGRADES
Damian opened a glowing container labeled PHASE-CORE.
"I reverse engineered part of Superman's solar absorption pattern. Toothless, your flames are already powerful, but if I integrate this into your fire glands…"
Toothless tilted his head.
"You'll be able to mimic solar energy bursts."
He pointed at a diagram.
"This means your plasma blasts will actually hurt Doomsday."
Toothless let out an excited chirp.
Damian laughed.
"Yes, yes. You'll have the coolest fire breath on Earth. Don't let it go to your head."
STEP 3 — SPEED & AGILITY ENHANCEMENT
Damian strapped a new prosthetic tail-fin attachment into place — lighter, stronger, and infused with micro-thrusters powered by solar-charged cells.
"With this, you'll be able to dodge Doomsday's strikes even if he adapts mid-fight."
Toothless shook his tail experimentally.
The micro thrusters flared blue.
Damian smirked. "That's a yes."
STEP 4 — STEALTH MODE
He flipped a switch.
The armor shimmered, turning completely black, absorbing light.
"Doomsday can't sense fear. But he can sense movement and heat. This stealth mode hides both."
Toothless tried it once — and literally disappeared in the dark section of the cave.
Damian looked around.
"Toothless?"
A tap on his shoulder.
"DAMMIT—!"
The dragon laughed his chirp-laugh.
STEP 5 — THE BOND UPGRADE
This was the most dangerous part.
Damian placed his hand on Toothless' forehead.
He used Sun Breathing: Transparent World — not to fight, but to synchronize their heartbeat and breathing rhythm.
Damian whispered:
"I'm going to give you part of my energy during battle. I can channel Sun Breathing directly into you… if we're connected."
Toothless leaned in without hesitation.
The world around Damian slowed.
He saw Toothless' organs, muscles, blood flow — perfectly synced.
Their breathing matched.
Their heartbeat aligned.
A soft glow of solar energy radiated from both of them.
Damian exhaled.
"It worked."
Toothless nudged him gently — almost affectionately.

Toothless now had:

Damian mounted him.
"Toothless. Let's test the upgrades."
The dragon spread his wings.
Then—
BOOM
—he shot straight into the sky, breaking the sound barrier instantly.
He blasted through storm clouds.
He vanished into stealth mode.
Reappeared behind Damian while mid-air.
Fired a solar-charged plasma burst that split a mountain-sized boulder in half.
Damian held onto Toothless' saddle and whispered:
"…We might actually win."
