The Timeline Breaks: Doomsday Evolves & Superman Falls
The battlefield was a cratered ruin. Fires burned. Shockwaves still rippled through the streets.
And Damian Wayne—Fire Shadow, heir of shadows and sun—knew instantly:
This wasn't how it was supposed to happen.
Doomsday stood in the center of the destruction… but not the Doomsday Damian remembered from the "Death of Superman" movie or comics.
This one was worse.
Taller. Denser. Bone plates forming faster than before.
Its body adapting more quickly than any Kryptonian record had ever shown.
Damian's pulse spiked.
The timeline changed… because of me.
And now Superman might die for real.
Toothless growled low beside him, pupils narrowing to slits. The Night Fury's plasma sacs churned, building pressure.
"Easy, bud…" Damian whispered.
But even he couldn't hide the fear in his voice
Doomsday Turns — It Recognizes Damian as a Threat
The monster's glowing eyes locked onto Damian specifically.
Not Superman.
Not Wonder Woman.
Damian.
Superman shouted from across the battlefield, voice hoarse:
"DAMIAN! MOVE!"
Doomsday leapt—faster than Damian expected, faster than anything in the original timeline.
Damian barely inhaled to trigger Sun Breathing before—
KRAAASH!
A bone spike hammered down, aiming directly for Damian's skull.
And that was when the impossible happened.
SUPERMAN TAKES THE HIT.
A red-and-blue blur slammed into Damian, shoving him aside with enough force to bruise his ribs.
THUD.
Superman took the bone spike straight
through the torso.
Damian froze in horror.
"No. No. NO—This isn't right!"
Superman staggered but forced a smile.
"You okay… kid?"
Blood dripped from his mouth. A lot of blood.
Damian felt sick.
This wasn't how the fight was supposed to go.
Not this early. Not this fast.
He had changed something.
He didn't know what.
And it was spiraling.
Timeline Variable Detected.
DOOMSDAY IS NOT FOLLOWING EXPECTED PATTERN.
Damian's system chimed — silent, internal, only he could hear.
Cause of divergence: Unknown.
Potential catalyst: USER ACTIONS.
His stomach dropped.
He had caused this.
Somehow. Somewhere.
The butterfly effect was hitting back.
Toothless Roars — A Night Fury's Fury
A plasma blast ripped through the street as Toothless launched himself like a black missile.
BOOOOM!
The Night Fury slammed into Doomsday's face, jaws wide, firing plasma point-blank.
Damian yelled:
"Toothless! No—he ADAPTS!"
But it was too late.
Doomsday turned…
And its skin shifted.
Bone plates reformed.
A new mask-like shell grew over its head.
It evolved fireproof armor in seconds.
Damian whispered:
"This… shouldn't be possible."
Superman Drops to One Knee
Damian caught him before he fell completely.
"DON'T move!" Damian barked.
Superman gritted his teeth, pain etched across his face.
"He… wasn't supposed to target you.
Why you?"
"I wish I knew," Damian whispered.
He didn't dare tell the truth.
Not about timelines.
Not about reincarnation.
Not about the system.
Batman's Voice Over Comms — Panicked
"Robin—Fire Shadow—where are you!?"
Damian inhaled shakily.
"I'm with Superman. He's hurt."
Silence.
Then:
"I'm on my way."
Batman sounded afraid.
Batman never sounded afraid.
Doomsday Charges Again
The bone titan roared, a sound like mountains breaking.
Damian shoved Superman behind him, stepping forward.
Sun Breathing ignited through his veins.
Flames traced his sword.
His pupils sharpened.
He had one months of preparation.
One months of training.
One months knowing this was coming.
And none of it was enough.
Damian whispered to himself:
"The timeline broke… and now I have to fix it."
Toothless landed behind him, snarling, wings spread.
Doomsday thundered toward them.
Damian tightened his stance.
"Round two, monster."
And the street exploded in light and fire.
The Last Senzu Bean: Buying Superman Time to Live
The battlefield shook as Doomsday roared again—towering, evolving, and focused entirely on Damian.
Superman collapsed beside him, blood spilling down his suit, breaths coming shallow and strained.
Damian dropped to his knees, hand trembling as he pressed against the Kryptonian's wound.
It was bad.
Too bad.
If he didn't act right now—
Superman wouldn't last another minute.
"Superman. Listen to me. You need to eat this."
Damian pulled out a small pouch from inside his suit—the final Senzu Bean he had left.
Modified by the system.
Twice as effective.
But far more dangerous for Kryptonians.
Superman shook his head weakly.
"N…no… save it. You might need—"
Damian grabbed his jaw and forced the bean into his mouth.
"No arguments. Chew."
Superman coughed once… then obeyed.
The bean dissolved instantly.
And then—
Superman screamed.
Kryptonian Solar Surge
His body convulsed.
Veins lit up like molten lines.
Golden energy pulsed beneath his skin.
His eyes glowed painfully bright, even closed.
Damian grit his teeth.
The bean doesn't heal Kryptonians normally.
It burns through their solar energy like fuel.
Too fast. Too violently.
"Hold on, Clark," Damian whispered.
"It's working. Just survive."
Superman's spine arched as sunlight flared under his skin… then he went limp.
Damian checked his pulse—
Alive.
But weak.
Unconscious.
Solar reserves collapsing as fast as they refilled.
He needed time.
A lot of it.
"ALL OF YOU—BUY SUPERMAN TIME!"
Damian leapt in front of Superman's body, sword erupting in flame.
Toothless dropped beside him, roaring, firing a plasma blast that knocked Doomsday backward for two seconds—just two.
Doomsday shrugged off the explosion like rain.
Batman skidded to a stop beside Damian.
"How bad?"
"Superman will live—IF we hold Doomsday back long enough."
Batman nodded once.
No hesitation.
"Then we hold the line."
And they did.
THE JUSTICE LEAGUE ARRIVES
A red blur tore across the battlefield—
FLASH:
"Okay WHAT IS THAT THING—?!"
More streaks of color. Green light. Wings beating.
GREEN LANTERN:
"Lantern Corps present! What's the situation?!"
HAWKMAN & HAWKWOMAN:
"Engaging the target!"
GREEN ARROW:
"Someone tell me why I'm shooting arrows at an alien war-god—?!"
BLACK CANARY:
"We don't have time! Fight!"
In seconds, Doomsday was surrounded.
The scene matched the animated Death of Superman…
But this time Fire Shadow and a Night Fury were in the center of it all.
The timeline had truly shattered.
Damian Joins the Frontline
He inhaled—
Sun Breathing: Twelfth Form
FLAME WALTZ
His blade ignited in spiraling heat as he flashed forward, slashing at bone plate joints and forcing Doomsday to redirect attention back toward him.
Toothless fired a plasma volley from above, wings beating the air like thunder.
Every hero attacked at once:
Flash blitzed Doomsday's ankles.
Green Lantern formed a giant construct hammer.
Black Canary unleashed a scream that cracked surrounding buildings.
Hawkman slammed him with Nth-metal.
Green Arrow's EMP trick arrows detonated across its face.
Batman set explosive gel charges in bone fractures.
Damian struck the exposed joints.
Toothless blasted the openings.
Doomsday stumbled—
Not hurt.
But slowed.
That was all they needed.
"KEEP HIM AWAY FROM SUPERMAN!"
The League held their ground.
Damian heard Bruce's voice over the comm:
"Seventeen more minutes until Superman stabilizes.
Do. Not. Let. Him. Through."
Damian spat blood but lifted his sword again.
Toothless landed at his back, wings spreading protectively.
"We're not letting you touch him," Damian growled.
Doomsday roared.
And the next round of hell began.
