"Hey Nil. I'll be going to see a friend at the market."
She perked up. "Friend?"
Suddenly, her energy spiked back to normal, as if it had never gone down. "Can I please please go too!" she begged.
Hhh…
"Sure, he probably has a party too."
She jumped in excitement.
He sure is bold for taking walks in this weather.
The market didn't have many people, the snow had likely scared them off.
"See that guy, the one with the black jacket? That's Kusuo." I whispered.
"That guy? So he's not socially anxious like you?"
I nodded. I was the only one in my friend group who wouldn't go around asking random people stupid questions.
He glanced to his left, doing a double-take and noticing me. "HEY! KEA!" He waved his hands like a stranded man finding a rescue vessel.
He ran over, leaving no time between us. "Keakea! It's been forever, man!"
"Yeah, it's been a while…"
"So, I must ask how you've been busy' every time I ask you to come!"
"Hello!" Nil said, appearing to Kusuo for the first time.
"Whoa, you startled me! … … Hey."
He grabbed my shoulder, dragging me a few meters away. "Hey. Don't tell me… You got up and obtained a girlfriend!?"
"Uh… well… yeah." Was all I could say.
"Damn, bro! You're moving faster than all of us! There's this girl that Shinzo has a chance with, but they've made no progress!!" He shouted.
It was like reading a romcom where the protagonists couldn't even consider the fact that the other might, just MIGHT have feelings for them.
I turned back to Nil, who was laughing to herself. "Would you mind introducing yourself?"
"Uh huh!" Her eyes sparkled. "I'm Kea's girlfriend, Nil Itina!" She seems to enjoy using that word.
"It's a pleasure to meet you!... I'm Kusuo Kuo, Kea's buddy from school a few years back."
Even though Kusuo may be outgoing, he still struggles to talk to girls, including teachers, which poses a significant challenge to his education.
