Chapter 3 - The promise

Three Years Later - Age 11]

Andrew stood in the backyard, sweat dripping down his face. He'd been training for hours—push-ups, sit-ups, sprints, basic martial arts forms he'd learned from books and videos.

His body responded better than any human's should. He was faster, stronger, more durable. His tail now longer, more muscular helped with balance and could be used as an extra limb in combat.

But he was still weak. Compared to what Saiyans could be, he was nothing.

I need real training. Real challenges. But where do I find that in a quiet town like Kuoh?

Issei: "Andrew! You're doing that weird training thing again!"

Andrew turned to see his ten-year-old brother walking up, carrying two bottles of water.

Issei: "Here. You looked thirsty."

Andrew: (taking the bottle gratefully) "Thanks, Issei."

They sat together on the grass, looking up at the clouds.

Issei: "You're getting really strong, aren't you?"

Andrew: "Not strong enough."

Issei: "Strong enough for what?"

Andrew was quiet for a moment.

Andrew: "I don't know yet. But I feel Like I'm meant to do something. Protect people, maybe. Fight threats that normal people can't handle."

Issei: "Like a superhero!"

Andrew: (smiling) "Yeah. Like a superhero."

Issei: "Then I'll train with you! We can both get strong together!"

Andrew looked at his brother energetic, optimistic, completely normaland felt a pang of protectiveness.

Well he is this Genatrions red dragon Emperor and maybe one day he could give me a challenge if he kept training and didn't slack off so Long

Andrew: "Alright. We'll train together. But you have to promise me something."

Issei: "What?"

Andrew: "If I ever leaveto get stronger, to find real challenges you keep training. Don't give up. Keep pushing yourself even when I'm not here,Never be Satisfied with the current you

Issei: (nodding seriously) "I promise! And you have to promise to come back and show me everything you learned!"

Andrew: (extending his fist) "Deal."

They bumped fists, sealing the promise.

[That Night - Andrew's Room]

Andrew lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. His decision was made.

He was eleven now. Old enough to travel, to seek out real challenges. His parents would worry, but they'd understand. They always had. I mean they must know

I'll spend the next year traveling Japan. Training. Fighting whoever I can find. Learning what this world really is.

Because he'd noticed things. Strange occurrences in the news. Reports of unexplained phenomena. Sightings of creatures that shouldn't exist.

This isn't just the DxD world. It's something more. And I need to understand it before I can protect anyone.

He clenched his fist, feeling the power coursing through him still raw, still untamed, but growing every day.

One year from now, I'll leave. And I won't come back until I'm strong enough to protect everyone I care about.

Outside his window, the moon hung full and bright.

Andrew quickly looked away, his tail twitching nervously under the blanket.

Can't risk that. Not yet. Not until I learn to control it.

He closed his eyes and began to meditate, feeling his energy his ki flowing through his body like a gentle river.

This is just the beginning.
