Andrew stood before his space pod for the first time in years. He'd hidden it here after his parents found him, keeping it secret even from Kuroka and Vali until now.
The pod was damaged from atmospheric entry, but still functional. And inside…
He pressed a hidden panel, and a compartment opened with a hiss.
Saiyan armor. Black and white, with shoulder guards and a form fitting chest piece. Battle-worn but still intact.
Andrew lifted it out carefully, feeling the weight of it
This is what they wore. My birth parents. Warriors of an empire that destroyed worlds.
He stripped off his tattered orange and blue gi the Turtle School colors he'd adopted from his past life knowledge and put on the armor.
It fit perfectly, adjusting to his size through some kind of alien technology.
Andrew: (looking at his reflection in the pod's surface) "This feels weird. And a little wrong."
The armor represented everything his parents had confessed to in that message. Violence. Conquest. Service to a tyrant.
But it also represented survival. Strength. The last remnant of a dead civilization.
He took it off quickly, folding it carefully.
Andrew: "I think I'll commission a custom gi instead. Something that's… mine. Not theirs, not anyone else's. Mine."
He thought of Kuroka's ability—that strange technique she called "clothes beam" that could materialize fabric and armor from energy. She'd done wonders keeping their travel gear maintained.
Blue gi with an orange undershirt. White boots. Something that honors both where I come from and who I choose to be.
[Mountain Camp - One Week Later]
Kuroka: (hands glowing with energy) "Hold still, nya."
Andrew stood with his arms outstretched while Kuroka worked her magic—literally. Golden energy swirled around him, materializing into fabric.
A blue gi took shape, deep and rich in color. An orange undershirt beneath it, visible at the collar and sleeves. White boots, sturdy and practical.
A red sash tied around his waist completed the look.
When the energy faded, Andrew looked down at himself.
Andrew: "It's perfect."
Vali: (from nearby, arms crossed) "You look like a real warrior now. Not just some kid in hand-me-down training clothes."
Kuroka: (smiling with pride) "The colors suit you. Blue for discipline, orange for passion, white for… well, they're just practical."
Andrew moved through a few practice forms. The gi moved with him perfectly—flexible but durable.
Andrew: "Thank you, Kuroka. Really."
Kuroka: "Just don't get it destroyed on your first day in space, nya."
The mood shifted. The unspoken reality hung between them Andrew was leaving soon.
Vali: "You're really doing this. Going alone."
Andrew: "Yeah. I am."
Scene 3: The Decision
[Same Evening - Around the Campfire]
Andrew sat them both down, his expression serious.
Andrew: "I need to ask you both something. When I leave for space… I need you to stay here. Protect my brother. Protect this world."
Vali: (immediately standing) "What?! But I thought we were coming with you! We're a team!"
Kuroka: (ears flattening) "Andrew, we're supposed to do this together—"
Andrew: (raising his hand) "I know. And I want you there. But…" He took a breath. "Over these months, we've been protecting people.
Fighting threats. Keeping this world safe. That's been my goal since the beginning
to be strong enough to save the world if it needs saving."
Vali: "So let us help you get strong enough to face Krieeza!"
Andrew: "Vali, you're the White Dragon Emperor. Kuroka, you're one of the strongest Nekoshou alive. This world needs you more than I do right now."
Kuroka: (voice cracking slightly) "What if you die against Krieeza? How will we even know?
"
Andrew's expression softened. This was the part he'd been waiting to explain.
Andrew: "I've been in contact with someone. King Kai."
Vali: "Who?"
Andrew: "A deity. From a realm called Otherworld it exists parallel to Heaven, Hell, and the Grigori afterlife. It's where souls go to be judged, where gods reside. King Kai is one of the guardians of that realm."
Kuroka: "How did you even find this place?"
Andrew: "I didn't find it. King Kai found me. A few months ago, when I was practicing Kaioken that technique I use he sensed it. Contacted me through meditation. Turns out Kaioken is his technique. He's been… guiding me. Teaching me remotely."
Vali: And you trust this 'King Kai'?"
Andrew: "He's helped me refine Kaioken to the point where I don't destroy my body every time I use it. He's taught me about ki control, about the universe beyond Earth. And…" He met their eyes. "He's agreed to send word if something happens to me. If I die, you'll know."
Silence.
Kuroka: (quietly) "That's not comforting."
Andrew: "I know. But it's the best I can offer."
Vali: "And what about Issei? You said we should protect him, but he's got the Boosted Gear, right? Shouldn't he be strong enough to
Andrew: "He's strong. But he's still learning. He needs time. And while I'm gone…" He looked at them both. "I need people I trust watching over him. Making sure nothing happens to him or this world while I'm dealing with Krieeza."
Kuroka's ears drooped. **"You're really set on this."
Andrew: "I am. This is something I need to do. For my race. For my parents. For… closure."
Vali clenched his fists, frustrated but understanding. **"Fine. But when you come back—and you WILL come back—we're sparring. And I'm not holding back."
Andrew: (managing a smile) "Deal."
Kuroka: "And you're taking this with you."
She pulled something from her bag—a small orange sphere with three red stars inside.
Andrew: (eyes widening) "Is that—"
Kuroka: "A Dragon Ball. The three-star ball, specifically. Vali found it a month ago during one of his scouting missions."
Vali: "Figured it might be important. You're the one who told us about them, after all."
Andrew took the Dragon Ball carefully, feeling its weight.
Andrew: "I found the four-star ball a while back. I was going to give it to Issei, but…" He looked at the three-star ball. "If we're collecting these, we should make sure they're kept safe."
Kuroka: "Your brother already has one."
Andrew: "What?"
Kuroka: "The seven-star ball. He found it a few weeks ago, before you left Kuoh. Didn't know what it was, but he kept it because it was 'cool and shiny.'" She smirked. "Sound familiar?"
Andrew laughed despite himself. **"That's definitely Issei."
Vali: "So we've got three of the seven. The rest are scattered across the world somewhere."
Andrew: "Then while I'm gone, if you find any others, keep them safe. These things are dangerous in the wrong hands."
Kuroka: "We will, nya. And we'll keep your brother safe too."
Andrew: "Thank you. Both of you."
[Later That Night Andrew Alone, Meditating]
Andrew sat cross legged, his mind reaching outward through the astral plane. This was how King Kai had taught him to communicate projecting his consciousness beyond the physical realm.
The world around him shifted, and suddenly he stood in a strange place—a small planet with a single road leading to a house, surrounded by endless clouds.
King Kai: (a short, blue-skinned deity with antennae) "Andrew! Good to hear from you. How's the training going?"
Andrew: "Good, King Kai. I'm leaving for space in a few days."
King Kai: "Ah, yes. The Krieeza situation. Nasty business, that. He's been terrorizing planets for decades."
Andrew: "I know. That's why I need to stop him."
King Kai: (sighing) "You're still young, Andrew. Even with your Saiyan blood, Krieeza is on another level entirely."
Andrew: "I have to try. For my race. For my parents."
King Kai: "I understand. Just… be careful. And remember—if things go south, I'll send word to your friends on Earth."
Andrew: "Thank you. That means a lot."
King Kai: "One more thing. Otherworld exists parallel to the afterlife systems you're familiar with—Heaven, Hell, the various pantheons. We don't interfere with their operations, and they don't interfere with ours. It's a… diplomatic arrangement."
Andrew: "So if I die, I could end up in Otherworld instead of Heaven or Hell?"
King Kai: "Possibly. Depends on how you die and what the judges decide. But that's not something to worry about now. Focus on staying alive."
Andrew: (smiling) "Will do, King Kai."
King Kai: "Good luck, Andrew. And may the stars guide you."
The vision faded, and Andrew opened his eyes back in the physical world.
Tomorrow, I leave for space. Tomorrow, everything changes.
Scene 5: Departure
[The Next Morning]
Andrew stood before his space pod, now repaired and modified with the gravity spell he'd been developing—capable of reaching 20x Earth's gravity, adjustable for training.
His new gi was pristine, his resolve firm.
Kuroka and Vali stood nearby, silent.
Andrew: "This is it."
Kuroka: (stepping forward, hugging him tightly) "You better come back, nya. Or I'll hunt you down in the afterlife."
Andrew: (returning the hug) "I promise."
Vali: (extending his fist) "Don't die out there, partner. I still owe you a proper fight."
Andrew: (bumping fists) "I'm looking forward to it."
He climbed into the pod, the hatch closing with a hiss.
Andrew: (through the comm system) "Take care of each other. And take care of Issei. Tell him… tell him I'm proud of him."
The pod's engines roared to life, lifting off the ground.
Kuroka and Vali watched as it ascended into the sky, becoming a speck, then disappearing entirely.
Vali: "He'll come back."
Kuroka: "He better."
They stood there for a long time, staring at the empty sky.
Then they turned and headed back toward civilization.
